Another Completed set. and get this.... daily (M-F) giveaway for free baseball cards

This one is a really shiny one. Last night's winner was Derek, who wins back to back nights.

2006 Finest: The set has 156 cards with the last 16 SP autos. I have the base set of 140 (so far). I don't focus on the SP autos to complete a set these days because I have thousands of autos back home in Florida, and until I go through those and pull the base cards out I really don't go after them unless they are super cheap.

Very shiny red. I do like this set even though there is nothing "real" for the background. You know like the real baseball diamond or field of play. Still yet, I find the set attractive. The "boxes" from the card show had a slew of cards for these Finest and Bowman's Best set builds. I have two more completed sets to scan (maybe three). I have now gone completely through all of the in house ComC cards and all of those cards from the show too. Everything is scanned up except for those other completed sets. I get to finally open the SportLots box and start sorting it and marking off of my excel sheets. Keep in mind I have NOT updated my web pages in regard to my Braves HAVES yet. I will do that after going through the SL order.

Have a great day!

  1. Set the cards up right, and it will look like a chain link fence.

  2. A solid set. Not spectacular, but I like it.

  3. I always thought this set had silver as the base color and red would’ve been a Refractor color. I believe I have a blue and green refractor and some other color of an X-tractor from this set.
Congrats on knocking out the set.
Just curious, have you ever completed a set of refractors of over 150 cards?

    1. Red is the base set, and I think there are 13 parallels. No, Never done or really attempted to do Refractor sets. I take them and track them, but that is it.

Those are mesmerizing, especially when you scroll up and down quickly a few times

  5. Not a bad looking set - simple, and I like how they interlock when side by side.

  6. I do like Finest, not the greatest period for it though.

  8. That's a different look. I don't have any cards from that set, but like was stated before, kind of cool when scrolling through it quickly.

  9. It is a solid, although boring, set. I agree, I prefer the cards to show the field / court, rather than nothing.

  10. I don't know if I've ever seen 2006 Finest. These do not ring a bell.
