Somebody in a hoodie doing jumping jacks.

One of those Star Wars machines/things.

And I have no idea here, so y'all get to decide.

Have a great weekend.

1996 World Series: Contest Pimp

The Braves loss of the 1996 World Series was a real "suck". This was the reining Champions, Took the first two games. Game one was a blow out. 12-1, a 4 hit dandy pitched by John Smoltz. A 19 year old Andruw Jones homered in his first two WS plate appearances, Fred McGriff also homered in that game. Fantastic right from the get go. Didn't even mind Joe D throwing out the first pitch, I mean come on it was Joe D. Braves take game two 4 zip with Greg Maddux on the mound. Things were looking pretty damn good. But nope, those damn Yankees won 4 straight games. Games 5 and 6 were 1 run games. Game 5 was a 1-0 loss battle to the end between Andy Pettitte and John Smoltz. It was also the very last game played in the old Fulton County Stadium. I couldn't make the game, but my brother did, and man did he rub that in.

The Braves roster was loaded with stars even superstars and future Hall of Famers in the likes of Bobby Cox, John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, Chipper Jones, and Greg Maddux.

Other budding young Stars were Andruw Jones, Ryan Klesko, and Mark Wohlers at the time. I guess I have to include David Justice who is MY ALL-TIME least liked Brave. Wohlers had the heat in Atlanta, and man did we (fans) love it, same way we loved it when John Smoltz was closing, and later Craig Kimbrel. Man I hope he comes back to ATL.

I think I covered all the rules for the contest being held by Brian over at Collecting Cutch.

Check it out you can win a nice Yaz relic. Or should I say Fenway relic?   Hmmm.

Just some old stuff

Cards from a couple traders at Old Card Traders (OCT)..

Peter Neuser messaged the group stating that he really wanted to finish up some of his 50's sets. He had a short list of needs for them.

I had a handful available so I reached back for a trade.

Peter said he could hit my 50's up too.

1953-1956, and these are the card he sent in return.

The next card came from Jimi.

A high number Braves team set need.

Have a great night.

Wacky Wednesday

Hump Day. And with season about to get going I'm using some 2019's.

The bat flip.

Did you get it the shot? Do you want me to do it again?, cause I will.

For you Ivy lovers.

Third time is a charm

Or at least it is supposed to be.

Re-Posting last Tuesday cards up for trade.  These 6 football cards.

Looking for Baseball relic cards in trade, preferably Braves but not necessary. To make it even easier, Braves cards from my HUGE want lists work too, especially ANY parallel cards.

Broncos.

Bills.

Chargers.

Cowboys!

Texans!

Jaguars! That is not a flaw on the card.

Let's trade. Looking 1) for Braves relics. 2) baseball relics.  3) Braves parallels. LMK what you have.

Let's see if there is anything to that old adage.

The Best for last

I saved the the cards I picked up at the last Jax. card show from my favorite dealer there. Best deal of the day for sure. Fred, same name as my uncle. Fred is an all around great guy, always fair.

I know that I had some of the pickups already, but I didn't care.

Why would I?  At a buck a piece.

Even the relics......

fred even had plenty of all of these, but I kept it to just one this go around.

Always a great deal with Fred.  On a side note.....I am going to be a grandpa. My youngest daughter (20) yo) no less is 20 weeks pregnant. This is a miracle as she had previously been told that she would never be able to conceive. So it may be a touchy ride, but we're hanging in and praying.

Shadow Shots

It's Saturday night....

Nice big bat. Shadow on the wall.

Not that I see anything in this shadow, just a good one. I'm sure there's something there.

The Grinch on all fours.

Have a great night.

Some minor details

First let me say thank you for the responses (comments) on yesterdays' post. Now for some "minor" odd balls I picked up in Jacksonville 3 weeks ago.

I've got nothing to say. I'll leave that up to y'all.

Did I do something wrong?

It's a serious question that I have to ask. Readership is extremely low, and the comments are virtually non existent. I know life happens to all of us. It's also Spring, and baseball is in the air. This year though something is off.....way off. Watching March Madness, nah   that ain't it. I don't know if it's me or is it this way for everyone?

Today is the 80th day of the year. This is my 65th post this year and #1300 for blog. There have only been  xxxx views, and 137 comments (excludes myself). 43 of the comments from the #1 (the best) Commenter in the Blogosphere (Fuji), and 12 with Dion who he and I have traded about that many times this year and whose cards I am showing tonight.

This pyramid of Braves were all needs from my want lists. Thank you Dion.

Back to the question at the forefront. Is this happening all around us? Or is it that I am just too boring? Many bloggers write for themselves. I am not one of those, heck most of the time I am just showing the cards that I get in or find a super deal on which is really what my blog is all about (not so much the writing). So, because I do need the views and comments I have to ask myself whether or not the 10 hours (sometimes double) each week I spend on preparing the cards for the blog is worth it? If I took January out of the equation, the numbers are really really really horrible. Yeah, it has me in the dumps. I held my first contest of the year this month. I usually have several throughout the year basically to reward followers. This contest had 4..... 4 comments from 34 views. Heck, the results post which showed zero cards had 37 views and 2 comments. I guess what I am saying is I take my joy from reading the comments, and it's just not been there (Mark this excludes you... I hope you're doing well). This summer will mark my 6th anniversary, not long I know, but I am considering saying goodbye on that date.

I'll finish up the last two Jacksonville card show posts tomorrow and Saturday.

Have a great weekend!

2019 Braves

Before I wrap up the last Jacksonville card show POSTS (2), I figured I'd better go ahead and show my recent 2019 Braves additions.

With both Acuna versions.

Both Albies.

Still need the 3 SP's and the variations for the Heritage. Let's see what else..... I am waiting on my Opening Day Braves to come in. I plan on going to Jax again in a couple of weeks, and I may just get lucky and get some of those Heritage I need/want. I'll post the rest of the Jacksonville stuff this week too plus the latest arrivals from a trade with Dion and my 2019 Diamond Kings set.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Some cards in tribute for this Holiday.

Now for some birthday boys.

You hear a lot about Guiness today, but here'e an Irish beer for you to try: Killian's Red. Good stuff.

Be safe.
