Happy Independence Day!

I'll cut y'all some slack with the rest of the Flags (you got them 3 weeks ago)

Some birthday guys.

Closing out with the boom booms.

Be safe today and night.

I needed these

I got a PWE the other day from Bob D, an OCT trading bud. Bob is one of the original members of OldCardTraders. In fact Bob is the All time (trading) points leader. He should be real close to 5000 trades by the end of this year.

Bob sent me 7 needs for my 58' set build. A few will need to be replaced, but they work for now. He included a green Ian Anderson that I needed too. I have been a member since a month or two before I started this blog. Hint, my blog anniversary is 5 weeks away and you can expect some news that day. So, after 9 years for me, I am sitting at #6 on the OCT all time points leaderboard, and 5th among the active members with what should be close to 2500 by years end. So yeah Bob is way ahead of everyone after 20+ years. I'm doing pretty good for less than a decade in. The 2nd spot is sitting at 4K, spots 3 & 4 are sitting at 3.5K and 3.K.  I will make it to #3 next year, but I can't see taking the top two spots. It is possible, but that is a ton of PWE's. LOL.

Have a great weekend, I hope to hit the Jax card show Saturday, we'll see as my uncle has been up & down lately.

2014 Topps Tribute: the wrap up

This is the wrap up, the final 28 cards in the base set. Only had 2 people guessed and that was Jeremy and Mark. Jeremy guessed at Braves. I wonder why. Mark guessed at a couple of Super Stars.

I do see a Chipper among these super stars.

None here.

Got a Maddux here. So that is 2 which is 2/3 of the Braves in the set. The other was Smoltz in the first scan of the 2nd post. That is a total of 3 base cards, total Braves cards with parallels and inserts 487. NUTS!

Have a great night!

2014 Tribute part two

Here we go with cards 37-72.

This is truly a high end set. I do however believe the backgrounds could use a little work. The 2021 release is a whole lot better.

I also think that Marichal could have had better cropping.

Just flat out loaded with super stars.

This cloese out the 2nd round, and tomorrow will finish the set. Hmm, who do you think might be in the final 28? No cheating and checking....... Just guess.

2014 Topps Tribute

A completed set build is always a good thing. I just complete the 2014 Topps Tribute, well the 100 base cards. I'll highlight them here for a few posts.

There is a good mix of old school HOFers with 2014's current stars and young bucks.

There are parallel of blue, green, gold, red, purple and a framed printing plate set, which I am happy to have sent to me should you have any of those.

These thicker cards are considered high end and are a part of my recent quest to build as many of those sets as I can on the cheap.

My Sport Lots box has a bunch of high end cards sitting in it now. From Triple Threads, Tribute, Museum, and the like. I am real close to completing both the 2003 base and WBC sets.  Sure glad to still be able to grab a bunch of these between .18-50. The cost of a box of this stuff today is OUTRAGEOUS. No way would I ever pay that. I also have about a third of the 2022 Tribute set that cost me all of $20.00. Happy about that.

See you in a few days with cards 36-72.

Sport Lots order

As I mentioned earlier in the week, I got a decent SL order in right after the ComC order came in.

The bulk of the order were set builds that are just everyday additions and thus not scanned. Instead, I scanned the Braves portion needs like the 1991 Fleer Update. Believe it or not I only had one of them prior to this order. Now the team set is complete. The 2002 Fleer Tradition complete that team set too.

Not sure why that HR Challenge Albies was scanned twice. I didn't even realize it until I was typing this post.

Some Blue Velocity and Building Blocks parallels.

Some 2022 parallels.

Closing the SL order out with the pair of Bomb Squads and Topps Inception.

Have a great weekend!

More OPC

More O-Pee-Chee from my ComC order.

Yes, I was still picking at the Braves.

Beautiful Braves indeed.

I was very happy to knock those vintage OPC off of the Braves team needs. But, I did grab one more card that certainly was not a Brave.

Yeah, great way to end my ComC order.  I have a SportLots order that came in too.

That will be next.

ComC O-Pee-Chee

The most exciting part of this last order starts tonight. I will have to make at least two posts out of it.

Definitely boosted the Braves team sets here.

Yes indeed some glorious Braves O-Pee-Chee.

Come back tomorrow for more OPC.

Happy Father's Day!

 Happy Father's Day!

I showed the Freddie a week or so ago.

Happy Father's Day.

More from ComC

Putting some more from the ComC order that had been building all year long.

I still need one more to complete this short O-Pee-Chee set. I'll get it eventually. On a good note.... next week I will be posting the vintage OPC from this order. They were in fact the highlight of the entire order.

Braves needs that I intentionally didn't show the other day. The Smoltz mini is an OPC mini that was an insert in the flagship Upper Deck set. The AG mini is an AG back. The pair of Acuna's complete that highlight set.

I boo booed with the Chipper Gallery of Heroes (it is backwards). The Aaron in the bottom left is another one of the Fanfest tribute cards (#3).

I duped up on the base Freeman up top. Oh well.

See ya next week.

HOSTESS

This ComC order was started back on January 2nd. Right away I bought three Hostess and they have been sitting in the inventory for the last 5 months. That was a wait that bothered me, but not anymore. By this weekend they will be in their binder.

Big name right off the bat. Apparently I already have this one twice so we'll do a double check of the Hostess and PC binders and replace if necessary. Now I also got in my last Sport Lots box and it had a bunch of Hostess.

The 1993 Clemens was the last Hostess needed to complete that little set (27 cards I think).

A few more big names.

Not dupes, these are complete panels. The matching cards above were also on panels that cut out.

Several more big names here.  My 78 & 79 sets need a lot of cards. Adding these was nice. A good way to close out this post.
