A LIMITED post.

Limited, as in Topps Limited. Some consider these cards as Tiffany sets, and some as is employee issued sets which is what I had thought. Either way.

Limited to just 4000 sets. The box is really nice. I guess I need to figure out what I'm going to put it in.  This 2000 Topps Limited set was missing a handful of cards (11). The deal was low enough ($13.50) for me to keep my fingers crossed to catch all of the Braves.

That 715 HR Hank Aaron card is the same one that I got with the HTA set. I guess that is the only one which would be good for me if it is.  The Braves were all there ( I also had a few of them already, so no need to scan them all).

The AS Rookie Cups were all there too.

Including these three without the cup!

I decided on a whim to search for the Limited cards after getting the 2017 Freeman last week or so.

I immediately scooped up the complete Braves set, and then I found the 2000 near set. You know I'm not really sure who wasn't in it (- 11 cards). Pretty sure most of the superstars were there even the Jeter's.

Have a great night!

Wacky Wednesday

Back to a little normalcy. Just a few cards that I find interesting in one way or another. Sometimes it is obvious and sometimes it is just my mind that is wacky.

Ultra after the first two years had great photos on their baseball cards. The look on Perez is interesting. Did he see something that caught his eye and needed a stare, or was someone talking to him?

So did the ball stay in the glove or did it fall out?

Stadium club pretty much is the place to go for the best photos. This one needs no commentary.

Trade Day

TRADE POST: ALL RELICS

UPDATED: last week we shed four of the cards. Those individual scans have been removed. Still have 5 of these to go. Simple trade, a Braves relic or pretty much any baseball relic will probably do. Card for card. Let's do this! Heck even a parallel Braves card that I need might work too.

Rambling wreck. Played with the Chiefs, Steelers, Skins, and Texans.

Husker. Played with Atlanta, Chiefs, and San Diego.

Cowboy or Sooner (take your pick). Nice patch.  Played with the Broncos, Lions, Broncos again, and the Florida Tuskers (UFL) where he set a game rushing record of 365 yards.

Tiger. Played with the Saints for 9 years.

Hokie. Played for the Jaguars, and is now a deputy sheriff in Jax.

If you see something you like LMK or if you just want to get rid of your baseball relics (especially any Braves)    LET'S TRADE! 1 OR ALL five.

Have a great night.

My most recent t206 pick ups.

Two more Braves T206. Not the greatest of conditions but they're mine.

Have a great night.

Dion gave me a Hickey

For the last several weeks Dion and I have been trading away. He's been taking all of the Tuesday Trade day autos (thus far). In return he's been sending me Braves autos. The batch I got yesterday had a few non auto'd Braves and non Braves autos too. Say that 3x real fast.  Up front thanks Dion!

Already had these 3 Braves.

Now you get the post title.  Hickey is going into the 2/25 birthday binder I have for my daugher Christy.

This Relaford goes into my birthday binder 9/16. Dion didn't have any 1/30's for Hunter's birthday binder.

Needed all 5 of these Braves.

I was able to add all of these Braves autographs to my collection. I did already have a few of the names, but not on these cards, so they are different in my eyes.

Same with these five Braves. Glavine being the highlight of the package of course. I had him sign a TTM for me back in 92' on a 1992 Donruss card. That was the only year I actually sent away for autos. Back then I never paid a dime, just sent 1 or 2 cards, and SASE, with a note asking to please sign. I must have mailed out a hundred, and all came back fast and signed but just a few. Those had the letter saying "too busy" or something of the like, and placed photocard in them. I can't complain. It's a shame you can't just do that way now.

Have a great weekend, I won't be posting tomorrow. Running home for a few hours so I will be wiped out.

New additions

I have been working really hard (these first two months of the year) to only get cards that I know I need or want (really the same thing: if I want it I need it). I have been doing this because I know me, and at some point I am just going to cut loose. I am planning on going to the Jax. card show in a couple of weeks.

I got side tracked there, let's bring it back to the latest additions to my VINTAGE Braves.

One day I will upgrade the Wilson, and throw this one in the set build until one day I upgrade it again. For now, this one works.

I grabbed these on my last ComC order and the below cards.

Silver All-Star parallel and Limited factory employee parallel.

This VARIATION card is somewhat of a pisser. It is a variation of the flagship base card #87. But, it was released in the update set. WTF. Why do this? Seriously, as if there aren't enough cards and variations and parallels to chase already.

Anyways, knocked out another variation and 4 vintage Braves.

Have a great night.

Working it

My latest ComC order came in and contained some Diamond Kings. One of 2019 collecting goals.

Let's see what I added.

1997.  This brings to needing #3, 5, and 10. I also need all of the canvas cards, but I'm not holding my breath until I get any of those.

The Vlad is super cool to get. Down to just two here #3 and #7. (plus the canvas)

These 4 closes out the 1998 Rookie needs.

Have a great night folks!

TRADE POST: ALL RELICS

UPDATED: last week we shed four of the cards below. Those individual scans have been removed. Still have 6 of these to go. Simple trade, a Braves relic or pretty much any baseball relic will probably do. Card for card. Let's do this! heck even a parallel Braves card that I need might work too.

1985 Hostess

Braves Edition. I could have sworn I had at least two of these sets. I still think I do somewhere. However, I recently was scrolling my insert/oddball haves list and noticed that I only had about half of the checklist checked.

Either way, I no longer have to worry about that.

There they are in all of their glory including the header card. DONE!

Have a great weekend.

5555555555

Before I start the story below. Normally on this day, i would be posting cards from the Holiday binders (which is not here in Valdosta). So Happy Valentine's everyone and Happy Birthday to those who get to double dip today.

Okay it's (the post title) not a phone number. It is more like 5 55, but let's lay the story out first. The other night I heard something scurrying in the kitchen. I jumped out of bed ran in and flipped the lights on, and sure enough a darn mouse a little squirt of one at that (which isn't a good sign). A black furry sucker maybe at most 3 inches not counting the tail. I tried slapping it with the broom, but it was just too quick. I knew right away how it had gotten in because a few years ago a RAT a very big rat had gotten in my uncle's house while he was in the hospital. My cousin Charlie and I found where it had gnawed it's way around the flooring by some water pipes coming into the kitchen for a secondary water heater and (don't ask) a washing machine. We sealed that up with "Great Stuff", a foam filler that has worked great. I knew that mouse had to have come in there. So the next day I pulled out the washing machine to see that the filler was still very much intact, but there was a SUPER tiny space right up against the pipe. I'd have a hard time putting two dimes in that spot, but I knew what that huge rat squeezed through, btw I caught that sucker in a monster trap. So I went straight to Home Depot to get some Great Stuff. Came back shook it vigorously for a minute and filled the hole. However, I never caught the mouse. OOPS! After a couple of nights not hearing it, I figured it must of went out while I was at the store. I hoped for that anyways. Well, I wanted to make some biscuits the other day and I did. They were yummy.

Later though I smelled a stink, and I knew what that stink was. I pulled out the stove checked in inside and under, but no mouse. It must be in the inner walls of the oven that I can't get to. I explained the dilemma to my uncle. He said we can just use the microwave. LOL, not wanting to pay for a service call ($75 plus labor) which would be probably wind up almost as much as a new oven. I started noticing the smell stronger a little bit from the stove in an adjacent room. I started moving everything I could get to and nothing. I finally realized that there were 2 cabinet doors that I had never looked in ever. So, I started pulling everything out of there. I found some cool stuff, no mouse but now you know how I found this stuff.

I found about a dozen vintage decks of playing cards from like the 40's back when phone numbers were 4 digits. pretty cool, I collected those things up until two years ago when my sister Jan told me she did. I gave her everything I had back then and will do so with these too. She is going to be so thrilled. I did keep 2 decks for myself I'll show those last. But look what was laying under those playing cards.

near perfect 1955 Bowman. There were 5 of these beauties just laying there. Sharp color and corners. The must have been put there in 1976 when my uncle bought this house and hadn't seen th elight of day since. I did already have this one, but I guarantee it will be an upgrade.

Another dupe, but again Super sweet almost NM card. Definitely an upgrade leaving me one for the PC.

Now these three were all needs with the highest number 306. Pretty cool find for sure. For a moment I forgot all about that smell. (dead mouse).

Now onto the playing cards i kept for myself.

A very vintage deck of Coca-Cola cards. I'm figuring late 40's-50's on these. Notice the countries on those cards.

The other deck came with a box.

A little rough on the one side but not really bad. I think the original owner of this deck opened the box like that on purpose.

Yep 52 different gals inside (actually only 51) there is 1 missing card and it's not the five of hearts... it is in there.

Have a great night. I hope you enjoyed the story, at least the cards.

Some oldies

Yesterday and today were screaming 50's to me. Why is that you ask? Okay yesterday I received a surprise package from an OCT member.

Not the greatest of condition, but when you need the number.........

Even the team name penned out is okay for the time being. The back was done the same way.

All in all there 6 1956 Topps that out of the blue showed up in my mailbox. Jabber here isn't too bad other than the erasure over the upper lip.

This one is definitely on the "needs upgraded" list.

Harry will suffice.

Joe will have to be upgraded too....one day.

You'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what I found today.  And yes, I said FOUND!.

Have a great night.
