Happy New Year's and Black Friday part 3

Let's get the greeting out of the way. Happy New' Year's! May the 2022 be a blessed year for all of us. With that said, if you should partake in the festivities on this Friday night remember AAA offers a free ride and tow (10 miles or less) whether you're a member or not. They call it there "Tow to Go" . 1-855-286-9246. They limit this program to 1 person per vehicle, and a mask must be worn.....the person not the car has to wear the mask. Now go have fun, be safe and put that number in your phone now.

Now for the wrap up tp the Black Friday haul and and end to this year. AHH.

Cheap autos and relics, even the Smoltz and the Chipper, which the black hat and shirt look way off.

Only the Horner card went over $3.00, it was $3.42. The Wood, Heyward, and Minter were steals.

Miller has a nice signature. Shame he never panned out for everyone. Hope that the Pirates get him right (his 5th team). He had/has so much potential that just never materialized.

The top row are all SP/variations. We have another Atomic, a few more Hank's, and some Finest.

I was very happy to scoop up all of the "black" parallels numbered to 25 each for an average cost of $2.00. HOFer at that price, make it a Brave, no brainer for me.

Another trio of low numbered Smoltz cards.

I have nearly completed this team set retro-fractors and base. I think I may only need a couple of base cards.

The Chipper is the Platinum Foil parallel. The Heyward looks great sitting in the middle.

It was nice crossing off all of these needed Braves cards from the want lists.

Lots to gander at here. The pair of Crown Royale Smoltz cards. Mathews (numbered 25/25, the Spahn, Freddie DK parallel, the weird looking Smoltz on the bottom is the Aqua TEST proof, and the Dominator is a great looking card too. That leaves the Asia and Orange Bowman's, not bad either.

Finally we can call this year and end. I will have or at least should have my year end/22 goals up tomorrow. One more time to acknowledge the loss of Betty White today. RIP.

Again, be safe everyone.

R.I.P. Betty White

We lost Betty White today, just 17 days shy of her 100th birthday. Funny lady. RIP.

Black Friday 2 of 3

This is working out okay with the Black Friday haul ending on the last day of the year (tomorrow). Yep, 2021 will be over after tomorrow.... Thank God. I can only hope for a 2022 that isn't filled with hate and the other bull crap that comes with it.

Now let's get to some cards.

More PNT for cheap and these are PC guys.

Freeman SP variation, Minter and Folty autos. Folty is the Indigo parallel. I cleaned up on a bunch of his on card autos. There is an Atomic Pache too.

I grabbed plenty of the Topps On Demand/Online Exclusive Braves too. I like the black & white cards, but that Hank Aaron signing is awesome.

A couple more autos and more On Demand cards.

A few more Topps 3D cards and 4 autos including a trio of Folty.

The Titan Acuna is the Hyper parallel. A few more PNT's.

Those Topps online Dynamic Duals are ehh for me, but as a team collector I have to have them. They were cheap cheap.

I actually like those On Demand Rookie in Review cards. They look good.

Here are a few more autos and the Maddux SP/variation. A couple of Atomic Refractors too.

Last one for tonight. Stole that Alex Wood on card auto too.

Wacky Wednesday

R.I.P. John Madden. Definitely an icon.

This is the last Wacky Wednesday (baseball cards) for a little while. I hope to get that binders (and boxes) in some sort of order in the coming year. Until then.....

Let's do this.

While still in the spirit of the holidays I figure it is as good as time to start posting my Black Friday haul. Why not, everyone else is. Probably, need to scatter them over a few posts.

I definitely was all over the place with my "shopping". I was finding Braves (of course), vintage, PC guys, set killers, relics and autos.

I might as well start of with the 2nd biggest (2nd most expensive) item I bought. It was a set killer.

I have put off shelling out for this Mattingly RC for so long. It was the first card I went after. Price= $29.04. I kick myself for whining about paying 20-25.00 over the last few years. I no longer need to sweat it, I did it. I just always felt like I would see one in the wild (card show) that I could scoop for 10-15 bucks. Nope, not lately. Moving on.

Okay, the Pache auto.....This was not the most expensive card either. In total, only 6 cards did I pick up (counting the Mattingly) cost at least $10.00. In fact, besides the Mattingly RC and the #1 card, the other four were $10 and change each. That Pache $10.10. I feel like I stole that one.  Topps product so it has logos, 21' release, Indigo parallel, yeah I stole that one.

More steals for me. Parallels, SP/variations, and On Demand 3D cards. I'd say only a handful of cards cost $3.00 ish. Most of the cards I bought were less.... less than a buck. Not these of course. I think the Greg Maddux variation signing for the fans is my favorite from this scan.

1947-66 Exhibits. This is the variation Miluakee cap (aka: plain cap). I now have both of Spahn's Exhibits. This one cost $9.11. A bit more than I wanted to pay, but it was half of the rest.

1949 Eureka stamps. I had never heard of these. They aren't bigger than a regular modern stamp. There were others that I didn't get because they crossed the $3.00 line and I wasn't doing that even though some of those were BIG names. Some of the ones I did get were BIG names too.

Grabbed a couple more 1940 Play Ball Braves. have scooped some cheap Bowman's too. Two of the 49's are part of the "$10+ cards I mentioned. $12.89 and 10.13.

There it is.. The Eddie Mathews 1953 Bowman color was the most expensive card I bought on Black Friday. It set me back a whole dollar more than the Mattingly RC at $30.25.

The Evan White quad relic auto was a steal too at $6.72. The others were steals too as they were under $3.00 a piece. Panini National Treasures relics for cheap, I like it, especially when they are "maybe collect" someday guys.

Last one for today. Some of the cheaper cards. Well, cheap that day. Pennies literally, except for the 2001 DK reprint and that wasn't much more than a buck if that.

I'll be back Thursday with some more of these Black Friday pick ups and finish up with them on Friday too.

Do you believe this?

Now, I know that price tag might scare of few of you, but If the actual rare stickers were in NM condition this would be a pretty good deal. Did you notice the original price versus the offer price? The actual real original price was 3K. I have no idea where the 2,759.99 came from. Again, if you wanted an instant complete series 1-15 (series 16 is extremely tough) with the rarest of rares this is a good price. I am passing as I have the majority of sets already and a few of the rares (just not the biggies which are in here).

Offer expires in

Okay, let's get to some baseball cards. This isn't working for me, so I am just going to post this as an extra.

Saturday, December 25, 2021

Okay, now that we've done that.....

What shall we do now? Hmm. I know. We'll peek at some more baseball cards.

Keeping with the recent posts, how about some high end autos.

These 10 Five Star autos were from an Ebay win. Net cost delivered less than $2.50 each. The Shelby Miller highlighted the batch.

Another Ebay auction from the same seller in fact.  (I made offers on both that were accepted.) This auction ended after I had received the first batch. The difference here is that these are the rainbow parallel #d to just 25. The Braves is obviously #1 for me, but Miller is right there too.

In case anyone out there isn't aware, I collect ALL baseball HIGH end base cards/parallels and even though those above are autos they are still the base cards.

I was very happy to win this auction. Sweet patch and numbered 15/15. I already have 1 parallel of this Braves card #d/75. This one is the Neon Orange parallel. Yep, still happy.
