Lots of Stuff from a lot of people

I had a lot of cards waiting on me back in Florida. I scanned most but not all, I will get those done when I go back to FL next time and then I will be bringing my scanner with me. I had a ton of cards waiting on me in Georgia too when I got back and those will have to get scanned too.

First up are the highlights from a HSCA (Brian) package.

Brian even included some vintage Braves for me, but he didn't stop there.

Brian even threw in some Elways.

Speaking of Elways I picked these up from 4 different Ebayers.

It's always good to add an Elway that I didn't have.

These Jim Dandies are the highlights from the Night Owl (Greg). No, he didn't send me a second Aaron rookie, but I wouldn't mind if he did, lol.

Julie (A Cracked Bat) got back in the game too.

Some Big Dawgs there. I want to say Thanks to all of these bloggers: THANKS!  there are some more that I need to get scanned up, but have to wait til I get back to my scanner.

WoW and ouch

A week or two ago I made mention of going back to get some more vintage cards from the guy I grabbed the 64s and the 54 Aaron rookie from.

I went ahead and scooped up a few more 64s.

I also grabbed a few 68s.

Including a pair of Bench rookies. He had a Ryan rookie, but we couldn't see eye to eye on that one.
The bulk of what I grabbed this time was from 1967.

These are just the highlights.  Now, I need to redo my want lists when it comes to Topps, especially 2007-2016s.

Franken Friday

Finally made it up to the last pre-scanned pages (#19) from late in 2015. I started this Franken-Set (Jersey Numbers) posting theme at the beginning of 2016. I should have cleared 52 numbers last year. But, that huge deal plus a few others threw that plan in the can. Either way, we move on to #19. I will have to scan some more next time I am home (FL). I think I will keep it to the first two pages as I did the first time (some of the numbers have a lot of pages). One of these days I will get to the other 4 or 5 Franken Sets I've put together. At least I have them for years to come, LOL!

I couldn't decide who would get the center spot, Yount or Gwynn.

I need to replace that Royals Conine (put it behind the Marlins card on page 1).

A lot of mail

Ran (rather drove) back to my house in Florida, and found a bunch of packages there waiting for me.

These cards (above only) found me in GA before I left.

That 1953 Topps Eddie Mathews came from OCTer David Ballew. The rest came from OCTer John Stamper. All needs too.

Another OCT package this one from Bob D'Angelo.

These 1976 Traded cards all needed came from Bob Roth OCTer.

And to close out tonight, but no wheres near finished with the packages I had waiting in FL.

These O-Pee-Chee's came from fellow OCTer Chuck Samlley.

I'll put out some from blogger/trading partners/super traders when I get back to Georgia. I will have some themed posts for the weekend.

Wacky Wednesday

We are playing the back 9 with the ANS Series 5 Set.

yes, used it, own more than one and undoubtedly will buy more.

yes, but as a kid Beefaroni was my favorite. As an adult every now and then I will buy the Ravioli minis, after all I am a bachelor.

nevery tried these, but I have the Crescent Rolls.

yep.

99.9% positive at least one of my girls had one.

nope.

Yes, and I still like them.

never tried the break 5 candy bar.

100% sure one of the girls had one  (or a ton) of these.

What................?

Last trip home an OCTer dropped a surprise package on me. It was a PWE with 5 cards inside.

1971s, I have most of the Braves and I knew it, but I was still happy to see them in case I needed them for the set build.

Whoa, when I flipped them over BAM! OPC! Yes.  Kevin big time thanks!

Silly Shots

The now a days version of my old Wacky Wednesdays which is now or rather should be the Wacky Packages.

How can you not like this card?

The 1993 Select set was full of stuff like this. I have to admit, I wasn't then and still not a fan of the idea.

It has been so long ago that I scanned these cards that I don't know why I found this card interesting. Maybe its the blank appearing billboard in the background. Maybe it's the distant stare on Pascual or his printed signature.

Just plain ole silly looking.

Perfect.

Gwynn up the wall is always interesting, then add the background including the ball is always good too.

My least favorite Brave of all time playing patty cake with the bat.

A couple of throwbacks to close out tonight.

Shadow Shots

Another theme that has been resting.

I see a Gator going after a fish that jumped.

Could be a hook, but I really see an upside down reverse negative (lol) question mark.

I see that cartoon blonde girl from the cartoon with the boy genius. I can't think of the name right now, but you know the one.

This one could be anything, you call it.

Nothing special "in" the shadows, just I like it with the 5 player shadows on one card.

Franken-Friday

It has been quite awhile since I last posted from this theme. The "JERSEY NUMBERS" Franken-Set.

Here we have the first 2 pages for jersey Number 18.  For those unfamiliar with this theme: I tried to limit 1 card per team on a page although sometimes  it is not possible. I also tried to limit to different card sets on a page.

At first I thought I had a card fall out of the top middle slot on the back page, but it is clear that I need to slide 3 cards into the page.

Have a great weekend.

Some good stuff

I briefly mentioned some vintage I picked up recently, so my time is tight so let's get to it.

That first Leaders card (top left) is not in the greatest of shape with that crease and all, but these were all needed Braves for the team collection.

That put a huge dent in those needs. I even got a few for the set build which that wantlist is now showing needs, as I only had a dozen Haves listed previously.  You see I grabbed up a bunch, most of what I grabbed was 1964 Topps. Let's look at some more.

I do have a few more to check off the list and scan, but that is another post.

These are just some of the highlights. I probably knocked out half or more of the set with lots of doubles which came in handy for the PCs. One might think that was enough to call it a good day. But, it's not even close.

More Braves.

Nope, these don't do it either.

Mr. Cub wasn't the key for me either.

Kaline Rookie, nice but not it.

A little rough on the top corners, but I now own 1 of the 3 Hank Aaron rookies that I need.
I'm still crying or my pockets are. But this one is mine.
