I did, I did say a dime. (I had Tweety on the brain). Here are the rest of the .10 cent cards.
I know, right?
Other than the 89 Ryan, Pedro, and Maddux the rest are all day long everyday (when I'd pay a dime). Yes, dupes of the Inspired play but both players are PC guys, so it works.
Ten cents, my kind of cards.
Now, I know there were 3 or 4 of those 2014 Harper's, but I can live with that as well as the 1992 The Rookies Pedro's which I already own about 20 of.
Of course I had to show some of the Braves. The Blue Medlen just pops, doesn't it? A couple of needed buybacks too.
All in all I'd say dimes well spent. I kept to the baseball, and highlights only from my perspective as far as the 2 posts go).
There were a total of 800 cards I picked up at that price. Most should be showing up at someones door any day now like maybe today! HeHeHe. I grabbed up some other cards too, and will post on them too.
C ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A blog about the cards I get awesome deals on, cards that I have available to trade, trades and our hobby in general. I collect Braves cards (all of them) and T206 White Borders.

Wacky Wednesday ANS 11
I'm going to blow this series out in 3 posts.
I have no idea how Topps got that ass shot through. And on a wrapper.
The checklist.
One of the many inserts. The only one I have.
Parallel borders. The only pair I have.
This go around, when I have both (back variations) I will flip the variation back over.
Here is where I stop tonight.

Dime Box Diggin!
As promised, the .10 cards. No need for me to say too much other than they all came from 2 vendors that I usually don't buy this type of cards from.
One box that I grabbed up was mixed with some football, basketball, and baseball. I even found 2 Elways. The first one I already have pretty sure, and pretty sure I don't have the second one.
The bulk of the cards tonight and probably Thursday too are from this same vendor, the other guy (my buddy Eddie) I scooped up a couple hundred A&G and a handful of TSC from this year.
all from Eddie. I wound up only getting 3 TSC that I needed for the set build, but I needed nearly everyone of the A & G. No complaints though, not at a dime a piece.
These are just some highlights of course. I did grab about 200 cards for this set.
Ordinarily, I wouldn't have grabbed those 3 Mac's above, but to get the cards for a dime a piece I had to take the whole box doubles and all. Still not complaining though.
Yep, ten cents each, not bad but wait til Thursday.

Mr. Olson I'll work on your prize this week.
Now, for the post. I went to the Jax. card show Saturday, and took one of my sisters with me. No worries, she had a blast. I wanted to stay on the low side as I completely failed last month. So I planned on hitting my 2 favorite vendors at this show for catching the bargains. First guy, didn't bring any dime boxes of baseball because I had cleaned him out the last time, dang it. Stopped at my buddy Eddie's booth and finagled my way into some dime cards he was asking .50 for. Then stopped briefly at the next booth and browsed the $2 boxes, I grabbed twenty and tried to get them for a buck each, he countered at 1.50. So 2 tough ones in a row. I bee-lined all the way around the show to the opposite corner for vendor #2 Fred. He always has the most recent stuff out and I usually clean him out every time, but we were an hour late leaving Valdosta, and sure enough somebody else beat me to the punch. I did grab some non sports cards from him. I'll have to show them or one of them off later in the week. He even had some cards for my sister......Playing cards that is she collects them. He had 6 beat up ones said they were from 1909, pretty cool all in itself. Gave them all to me for $2.00 and still threw in another set of 70's playing cards of Quick Draw McGraw for free. When we checked them out the cards were actually from 1890, nice. I wish I had scanned them before she went back to north Georgia. First up, was that 2nd table I bought from.
A lot of needed Maddux cards for sure. I definitely would've felt better at a buck a piece, but you can't win them all. I know there are some dupes, done on purpose. The 3 missing cards were Leaf RR of McGriff x2, and Maddux. I didn't need the Manny RC for the set build, so I am hoping I still need it in the PC, other wise I'll live.
Tomorrow I will start highlighting the dime cards. It will take at least 2 posts.

It certainly didn't take long to hit #900 after #800. That is mainly because of the Big Fun Game, which updating threw out a lot of posts. I have a special Ebay pick up for this post.
1969 Milton Bradley Atlanta Braves team set. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't forget there is a contest to celebrate POST #900 and my 4th blogaversary. Follow, and comment on yesterday's post.

Anniversay: Blogiversary YEAR 4 and something more
It was on this date 4 years ago that this ole boy made his first post. I didn't know how to put pictures, scans, or anything else into the posts other than the words I typed. It wasn't much of post, in fact it took about 6 months for me to get scans into my posts. I want to say thanks (again) to a few of you fellow bloggers who helped me out during those first 6 months. I'm not much of techy/techie never have been and I can't say that I'm much better off today than I was 4 years ago other than the scans. I've got that down!
Here is that very first post:
Here is that very first post:
This is all new to me: blogging to "trade sportscards" A New Hope
Forgive me in advance for the simplicity, this is my very first blog. I'm not very techy, but I will learn.
After being away from "our" hobby for many years now I decided to go through my old card collection, and it has definitely "fired me up" again. For the last couple of months digging through search engines looking to find card traders (when I last traded cards, AOL had groups for that, and it was super easy, made tons of trades that way, it doesn't exist anymore :( ), ultimately finding a handful of groups that I have or am planning on joining. Still because I mainly collect John Elway cards and whatever I can get my hands on of him, makes trading hard in the groups especially the vintage groups difficult. (I have cards dating back to the "White Border T206" and other 1930's tobacco cards) I can hit their want lists (they all seem to want my Mickey Mantle cards), but they usually do not have Elway. Thus, I've been frustrated, until this past weekend. I stumbled across some blogs, via search engine, and read them.
I believe that this "blogging" thing is an awesome way of getting into groups that help each other with their collecting needs no matter how limited they are. The frustration from the past several weeks is fading away, I see "New Hope" on the horizon.
https://sites.google.com/site/johnnystradingspot/home this is a link to what I have listed and what I need. I truly focus on the John Elway (highest priority) cards for my needs, but I do collect the old school Wackys (2nd priority) and looking to build as best I can the T206 (lowest priority) more of a prove a theory than anything else, we can save that for a later blog though.
Thanks for reading,

It wasn't much, but as time has told us I was right. Collecting is easier through blogs. Of course my priorities have changed, as you can tell from the above post. I still have high priorities for Elway, Wacky Packages, and T206 cards, but they are seldom hit via trades. Bob D'Angelo and Wes Moore seem to be the guys that hit needs to Elway the most. Now this could be that there isn't a good source for anyone to see what John Elway cards I actually need, but hey that really is way too much work for this non techie. Then again there really isn't a want list up regarding any of those collections that add up to a hill of beans (country southern terminology).
I thought about not putting up a scan for this post as a celebration of sorts being that this is a "double dip" (commemorating post #900 tomorrow). Still not sure as I write this, but we'll see if I do, LOL! Yeah, I'm not putting a scan in.
I have decided it is the perfect time for another CONTEST. Simple rules, follow this blog, and comment on this post today Saturday or by midnight EST tomorrow Sunday. Not saying what the prize is, you'll have to be surprised.
Thanks for the last 4 years of tolerating my on/off themes and often less wordy posts. And a special thanks to all y'all non Braves fans for enduring all that very precious Braves cardboard!
Have a great weekend! I'm off to a card show!
2017 Optic Diamond Kings
I collect Diamond Kings, not the DK set but the base, insert, and parallel versions of the cards.
So, when I seen a 45 card lot of the current Optic set I had to throw down a bid. Not a complete set and dupes/trips (15 total), but I thought I was happy with the winning bid of 15.50. The cheapest of these things are $2, some $5 or more.
Leaving me with 24 of 30 or 80% complete. But by the time these arrived, I had bid and won another complete set of them for $11.09 delivered, nearly half of what I previously paid. granted I wanted the extras in the first lot because of PC needs. I had bid on the other lot because I had planned on building this set, but I have decided not too.
The complete set showed up today, and now I can pick my PC guys out of the ones above and put the rest with the already have extras. The main ones missing from the first lot, oh just Trout, Correa, and a guy named Mickey Mantle! If I hadn't already scanned these for tonight, I would scan the complete 30 card set, or the 6 missing from above, but I'm being lazy, just got back from FL (home) today for my Uncle's 94th birthday, and I'm running the 2.5 hrs each way to the Jax. card show tomorrow, so I forgive myself.

Dansby Swanson (yesterday's post)
I tried to schedule this to post last night. It didn't work, oh well. You'll get two today.
I picked up an Ebay lot of 10 Dansby cards.
Box Loader was the real draw. More on this one in a minute.
Needed all 6 of these making it 7 out of the 10 I needed for the Braves team sets. The 3 others were dupes from above. The Heritage RC and both Platinum cards. For 9.50 + 3.50 shipping I was able to add the 7 new Dansby cards which is a steal if you judge it by the costs of his cards.
Now back to the Box Loader.
The seller wrapped the card inside a flat rate bag and placed it in a bubble mailer where the other 9 cards were.
but it got bent. Obviously in transit, but it could have been packed better, like cardboard after all it is an over sized card.
It was bent too. So I reached out to the seller and he knocked 3.00 off and sent a refund. I feel okay with that, but dang.

More from Box
As mentioned yesterday it was a great mail day. Going to throw a few in here to get them done.
I got this GEM of an Eddie Mathews from P-Town Tom. Now I did already have this one in the Braves team set, and also in the set build, but I needed one for the EM PC! And yes, it was broken out of it's prison.
These 5 gorgeous cards also came from Tom as part of a little trade we did. Almost getting there to knock this set out fast. The Eddie was just a bonus, thanks Tom.
This 12 pack came via an OCT bud Griffin Cole. I hardly have any A&G from this year, in fact this trade may have just doubled what I have. I need a lot of help here.
Yep, another bunch of current inserts from my OCT buddy Bob D'Angelo.
All of the above are keepers, and......
these are starting new stacks for some blogging buds.

Mail Day!
LOTS OF GOODIES IN THE BOX TODAY. Well, okay a couple came on Saturday. Real quick one tonight.
Yes, I know this is upside down. All 4 scans are. First, you know I am not technically inclined. I took these with my phone and emailed them to myself and then opened the email and as always my phone turned the scans 90 degrees. So I rotated them 90 degrees in office manager then cropped them, and when I pull them up afterwards they are 180 degrees, WTF. I have no idea whats going on or how to correct it.
But, these came today from Adam over at Infield Fly Rule with a note.
Adam said I had sent him a "PWE" back in January, and this is the return.
5 team bags full of set build needs, some Braves, and some mini collections.
That is what I call a return, thanks Adam!

Bubble gum or money?
Seems like a relatively easy question. But it isn't. To short cut one aspect of the question, simply to say am I willing to pay "x" amount for the gum? But, I'm not talking about actual bubble gum in the general sense. I'm talking about bubble gum on a baseball card. Again cutting to the chase (or am I?) Not a gum stain, but an athlete blowing a bubble for the most part on a trading card, there are a few exceptions like obvious chewing the gum or balloon in mouth pretending it is gum. So, now am I to ask myself if I want to pay "x" amount for this or that card? Who knew that bubble gum could be the subject of a psychological brain teaser?
For instance how much is this junk wax card of McDowell worth to me? It is a double hit for me. He is blowing a bubble, and obviously just signed that baseball card for a fan. Side note: this card reminds me of another card for some reason.
Yeah, that's the one. Again, another junk wax (really crappy set too). Same thing a double bubble and signing. Ah, but this one is Nolan Ryan and he just signed a ball. Should that matter? I think not, which is all that counts as it for my Bubble Gum Binder (and Signing Binder) and yes I have it in both, plus the set build, plus the Ryan PC. Of course most of us cardboard looney toons yes terrible pun I know would pay a penny or two more for the Ryan than the McDowell, but in reality neither one is worth very much. I can only imagine being a kid collecting the way I do today. Asking my mom for "x" amount of money so I could buy this I just have to have card, and hearing her say "Money doesn't grow on trees!" You all know that expression, don't ya? How many of us have even said it? You see, this post really isn't about bubble gum or even baseball cards. It is really about that phrase "money doesn't grow on trees". I purposely used the word psychological. I had created this idea in my mind to get into your mind, you know mess with you make you think of some card you probably paid too much for and maybe later had a buyer's remorse of sorts. And all along what I really wanted to say we even as children knew and often told that money didn't grow on trees. Hey don't get pissy I threw a hint or two in there, LOL. But, I have good news for us all.....
Apparently there is a money plant. Have a great week ahead and I hope my round about way of showing off this package of seeds I found entertained you for a minute or two.

Shadow Shots
GOOD MORNING BLOGOSPHERE! It's a little after 6 am here on the correct coast. Okay so that was 2 lame attempts on my part to be funny or start you out with a smile. 1) reference to the Robin Williams film 2) a dig on the left coasters who are more than likely still asleep or just getting in from a night of partying.
I see a raw skinned and ready to cook frying chicken walking with an army helmet on. Man that chicken has some huge hamstrings and thighs. Maybe I should say a turkey.
I see the world's tallest man bending over.
Maybe i shouldn't have scanned this one. Or did it have something to do with the rail shadow, yep I see a ladder.
A skydiver that hasn't popped his chute yet.
I see an artists attempt to draw an eye, the right eye.
Have a great weekend.
