Nearly forgot about Elvis' birthday and Free baseball cards to boot.

The winner last night was: TDK

Every year on Elvis' birthday and death anniversary I post the cards/stuff I have of him. Now, I for one am not a big Elvis fan, but my mom sure was. His birthday fell on

Sunday (this past) and totally slipped my mind, but I remembered last night so I whipped this out for tonight.

I have a cousin who is all nuts about Elvis too.

I also have most (I think) of the Elvis set the was released in 1978, but I haven't got to the point where I can go through cards yet. I can get to some non sports stuff and I think I may start scanning some of those up.

See ya again in August with the same cards above hopefully I will get to the other by then. We'll see.

  1. Looking at these cards makes me think how strange life must be for a celebrity.

  2. I always liked his showman late '60s/early '70s stuff, so I guess that means I'm not a real Elvis fan.

  3. I’m not a big Elvis fan either, but I respect the impact he had on music.
I had a coworker tell me he saw one of his last shows in Lakeland, FL, and he said the place was packed and the ladies were going crazy. He also told me that if you rearrange the letters in the word ‘Elvis’ that it spells ‘lives’.

  5. Nice. Incidentally, has anyone seen the new Elvis movie? Is it any good?

  7. Got my latest winnings today - thank you!

One sign of getting a little older was one day realizing that nobody claims Elvis is still alive any more.

  8. My Mom loved Elvis, and we watched both the 1968 "Coneback Special," and "Aloha from Hawaii" together. Lobe Elvis, but don't really coll3ct his cards...I need to do better, for sure.
Thank You, thank you, very much!

  9. Blue Suede Shoes? Never owned a pair. Hound Dog? Owned a few. If I tried to move like he did, something would break or get hurt.

  10. I need to get some Elvis cards. I skipped the ones released in the 90s since a Beatles set was released earlier and I was getting those.

  13. Sounds like you collect Elvis... for the same reason I collect Andy Williams and Kenny Rogers.
