Another complete set. 1994 Finest plus the FREE cards.
The winner last night was: Jafronius
Now when I went back to GA to close the house and picked up the mail I had the last cards needed to complete the 1994 Finest set.
The 94' Finest is one of my favorite Finest sets. It is now complete.
I don't have anywhere near a full set of this, and I've certainly never seen them laid out like this. So this is my first time realizing that the backgrounds are fake, reused on many cards. Same 3 or 4 backgrounds over and over.
That is a thing of beauty. ‘94 Finest is probably just a tad higher than ‘98 Finest if I were to rank my all time favorite Finest sets. I actually picked up 2 Series 2 packs from the ‘94 set a few months ago.
These are awesome. In 1994 my friend traded me a Tom Glavine from this set and I thought I was sitting on a gold mine because of the prominence of the 1993 set.
The last few cards were cards 1-9 as they were a lot buy. I originally had them, but a two slipped (2 and 3) out of the binder page along the way no idea when.
Agreed, that's the single Finest set I would most like to complete. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on completing the set!

ReplyDeleteCongrats! The occasional discoloration is weird but still cool set.
ReplyDeleteI love 1994 Finest, too. I once thought of trying to complete it. I had no idea it was as large as 440 cards. That would've stopped me.

ReplyDeletecompleted the 98' set at the same time. it is the next set to scan (have to find them in the tubs I brought back from GA).
DeleteMy finger cramped scrolled through that! Nice accomplishment though.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you scanned the entire set!
ReplyDeleteI do every complete set (sometimes the backs too).

ReplyDeleteSuper job completing the set! Nice looking cards. Congratulations to Jafronius.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! What was the final elusive card?
ReplyDeleteI got the PWE a couple days ago, thanks for the Topps holiday cards!

DeleteThose early Finest cards looked great!
ReplyDeleteI think this would be a set that I'd just get the ones I need for collections, but it's not really on my radar for must have kind of thing.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous set. I missed out on this set back in 1994, because I was focusing on basketball that year. But over the years I've landed some singles.
ReplyDeleteImpressive. Not one of my favorites as far as design, but it always feels good to finish a set.
