1969 Topps trip cards

It seems many did not like the 68's design, so let's take a peek at 69.

A Pilots card and 2 manager cards in this first 9. Not to mention a vert young Staub!

The back on Bauer is cool, but a lot of wasted space.

Now Rigney's back has a lot more appeal.

Bottom row is pretty sweet. Maz in the middle is nice too sitting right next to a former Topps AS rookie.

That doesn't happen to often now does it?

First 5, fantastic. Drysdale, Kaline, Mantle, Rose, and McCovey. Scott was also an Topps AS rookie member. That Mantle checklist is clean too.

I certainly hope that the 69' set is more appealing than the 68'.

  1. I already professed my love for the burlap yesterday, but you can't beat the players you have for 69. Wow!

    1. Mark, I had figured you had completed all of the Topps sets.

  3. I'm more than half way done with this set, which includes having most of the high numbers taken care of, so I can really appreciate what's being shown here today.

  4. It still throws me off to see young Pete Rose, because he played so long and most of what you see is him much, much older.

  5. The backs on those manager cards are fantastic! And that Pete Rose is sweet too.

  6. After '67 and '65, '69 is the only '60s Topps set I'd consider completing, only because I gained several '69 cards when I was a kid. They seemed SO OLD.
