I found a few 57's in the boxes.
Nothing wrong with finding a HOFer (1998) in pretty decent shape. Did ya know? Doby was also the first AA to play professional basketball.

The first Dominican to play in the MLB. Still with us today.
I only wish that my 57 Mantle was in as a good as shape as these.
No, I did not know that about Doby. Pretty cool.
ReplyDelete1957 Topps is my favorite! Hope to complete it someday in a few years. I've got a beat up Mantle too.
ReplyDeleteSweet Doby. Never heard that little piece of trivia. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteThat Lehman card just misses the toughie middle numbers. I was so glad to find that out when I got mine.
ReplyDeleteThat Doby is a beauty. Gonna have to keep an eye out for that one at my next show. '57 Topps has always been one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI guess what I like about the 57 set is that it is so different from all the rest.
DeleteThe switch from the art in previous years to full color photos must have been amazing when this set came out. Still looks fantastic today.
