The past few years there have been several "Big Fun" games here on the blogs. They really can be a lot of fun. I hosted a few myself. The biggest problem with them is that they take a long time to get through the game.
I have a theory as to how to eliminate that issue.
1) Instead of 1 contest with 20, 25, or 30 entrants, break it up into 5 or 6 separate "Games". Not running at the same time. Finish 1 before starting the next one. Limiting each game to 5 or 6 entrants with a two steal limit per prize, 1 steal per person, and NO passes. I think the game then would play out over the course of a day, maybe two.
I would still have everyone "sign up" on one post with a limit of 30 people. Then randomize the people to set the grouping which they will be playing. Then post that schedule and the prizes for the first game. Then as each new game begins post those prizes.
So tell me what do y'all think?
Sure. Just hope I'm available when my turn comes up.
ReplyDeleteI'll put something together for the run, then post it so people can sign up.
DeleteInteresting idea!
ReplyDeleteThe games might be shorter, but it sounds like more work for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking it will be less work.
DeleteI'd be down.

ReplyDeleteThe Big Fun Master himself!
DeleteSounds like a lot of fun :)
ReplyDeleteCool idea. I think I'd follow along, regardless of whether I was in the game or not.
ReplyDeleteInteresting I'd give it a go!
