The winner Friday night was Night Owl.
So we are moving the Masonic Monday out west, so to speak. John Wayne is just one of several cowboys (actors) that have graced the covers of these booklets. I will scatter them here and there.
There ya go pardner, next week's episode is out of this world!
What’s the difference between a Masonic Bible and say a King James or NIV if you don’t mind me asking?
ReplyDeleteNearly all (but not all) Masonic Bible's are KJV. The have some emblems and symbolism here and there. Of special note, King James was a Mason and when he ordered the "re-write" it included some Masonic influences throughout it's translations. It took 7 years to do the re-write (published in 1611). Of course in 1881 a revised version was published, there are differences (removed 14 books). In short (lol) they are the same with the little Masonic extras usually gifted to new Master Masons by their lodge or one they bought for themselves.
DeleteNothing cooler than the Duke.
ReplyDeleteInteresting stuff. I never knew John Wayne was a Freemason or that he turned down the Dirty Harry movie.
ReplyDeleteGreatest movie Cowboy of All-Time!
ReplyDeleteRip Lobo, Big Jake, The Shootist, The Man who shot Liberty Valance are my favorites.
Good Job!👍
Always interesting, these things. Quite an icon, even if the kids don't watch his movies, I would think most know who he was.
ReplyDeleteNice overview, I didn't know that much about Wayne's life. I wish the article made it clear why he decided to become a Mason late in life.
ReplyDeleteAnd I got my latest winnings today. Thank you!
DeleteI had no idea that he was born in Iowa. When I was growing up we had a Rexall Drug Store in my hometown.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know The Duke was The Knight!
ReplyDeleteJohn Wayne never seemed like the Mason sort to me, of course a lot of these people haven't, so I'd be lying if I said that I was surprised to find this out.
