Wacky Wednesday

I'm posting this early in the morning as here shortly, I will be heading just north of Atlanta (5 hours) with my Uncle. Weather permitting I will take in a Braves game tonight. Full day planned at the Atlanta History Center (the big thing is the Cyclorama) for Thursday. Our rooms are booked for that night too, however I'll have drive back here drop my Uncle and the aide off, and head another 3 hours back home to Ocala. My daughter will be having a c-section first thing in the morning Friday. I have to be there. Praying all will be well with her and my grandson. (That sounds so weird, saying that). Prayers appreciated, and if that's not your thing keep your fingers crossed.

Our three cards for today.

What is the world is Carlos looking at. Definitely isn't lookng the ball into the glove.

Let's see, the card is supposed to be highlighting "ALL TIME STRIKEOUTS LEADER", but they used a card where 4 No No's are depicted, hmm.

Lots of talent in that gold cart!

I have a series of posts coming up in the near future. Wednesdays and Saturdays will remain as their normal themes. Dang it, this darn thing just published. I didn't do it. Dang it. Oh well, I just copied and deleted it, and made a new post.

2019 A & G

My 2019 Allen & Ginter Braves team came in. Well, the non SP's did. The FOUR SP's are on their to Ocala from ComC. I have to ship my ComC cards to Florida (my billing address is there) otherwise I have to pay sales tax to ship them to GA. Everywhere else online, has my billing address listed as FL and ship to address to GA, and they don't charge me sales tax.

Deion has been getting a little love from Topps lately. I don't know why, but he has.

CORRECTION: The SP's are not coming from ComC, nor are they on their way to Ocala. I ordered them from Cardbarrel, my bad, so they are on their way to Valdosta.

Incoming

More incoming cards from OCT. This time (Saturday) from Tim Morales way across the country in Orange CA.

Tim packed 5 PWE's with these 1994 Pacific Prisms Silver (circular parallel).

Tim sent 33 of 36 cards in the Silver (circular set). The base silver has 36 cards too.

I pulled the Maddux card for my Braves (I needed it there first). I now need just 4 more to complete this set.

One might ask why he sent them in 5 PWE's. It's simple, he saved at least a buck in postage plus he gets 5 trader points. Anyways, if you like SHINY, you should see the cards Tim sent that came in today! I won't post them but they are the 2000 Prism (base set). If you ever wonder where the parallel craze of today started, you might want to check that set out. 15 parallels to the base and very difficult to differentiate. TOUGH. Had to go to radicards.com for the easy breakdown.

Shadow Shots

Venting first.  The new hire didn't show up today (or call) Day 1. Not how a weekend is supposed to start. But, after the last year I have become accustomed to it. Thank GOD for our other 2 aides. They've been with us 2 1/2 years.

Now on to a few Shadows:

I see Santa Claus.

A camouflaged frog.

I see a dog with a saddle on it.

That's all folks.

More return fire

Chris from OCT (he sent the Hostess last week) sent another PWE. This time with........

a pair of mid high number 72's. #538 and 583.  Seems like there is a whole lot of us trying to build this set (slowly for me) as I need several high numbers but even more mid high numbers.  These 2 came in handy.

A bonus card tonight.

Somehow I missed this autographed card the first time through.

Have a great weekend folks. Behave, eh never mind that.

A Trade Post

This week I pulled a PWE from Bob D (OCT) with the Snider from 2019 Stadium Club. I have a short list of needs. Yesterday, I pulled 10 more PWE's from Bob. Tonight, I'll post the best from each envelope which were marked x/10.

#1

1998 Rookies & Stars SAMPLE. Kerry Wood is a PC guy, so this works.

#2

A Braves card that I didn't know I needed, but I knew that I hadn't seen it before. Love that bent bat.

#3

The third envelope had a pair of these 1993 baseball Card Monthly cut out cards.

#4

This very poorly cut Murphy was the best (or me) in #4.

#5

The 5th had a BCM from 1992.

#6

Another poorly cut 1992 BCM, and......

this poorly cut 1993 BCM.

#7

Collections SAMPLE.   and a really close 2nd place was this Ultra boo boo.

Mark, you will see this one again.

#8

#8 offered up this Teddy ballgame.

#9 offered me nothing, it was all non baseball. Thus, no scan.

#10

The Babe. Ted doesn't look well there.  Most of the cards from the 10 PWE's were from the 1993 Ted Williams set with a good mix of SAMPLES, and BCM cut outs.

Wacky Wednesday

It's been a wacky week. had to let the newest girl go and begin with interviews again. Another new one is supposed to start Saturday, we'll see.

A trip back to NOT this year's Stadium Club.

Here let me help with that.

Right in the face.

What's next?

Let's check the scan folder. Oh yeah, with tomorrow being the Apollo 11 launch anniversary we can throw out a card in honor of the landing and walking on the moon 4 days later (July 20th).

So, when will we colonize the moon? You tell me.

Shadow Shots

It's Saturday, wake up everybody.

One of the ghosts from the Christina Ricci Casper movie.

One of those snauzer dogs.

I see a girl with a pony tail firing a rifle.

Have a great weekend.

Just 1 card.

Chris from (OCT) sent over 3 more PWE's. Some 2003 Topps Traded set build needs in one, and some 1993 Score in another.

But, this 1976 SSPC (copyright 1975) George Brett was the Key among the 3 envelopes. You see I do have this card already. But it has been on my main website page since I started this blog. I needed to upgrade the one I have in the set build. The only SSPC set build I have.  Finally, six years later it is now removed from the 1 card needs section.  I will place the flawed card in the Brett PC.

See y'all!

I didn't see it.

I haven't posted in a couple of days. Things have been on edge here just a bit, another neighbor (2 doors down) passed away, went to one funeral, and damned if the new girl didn't show up yesterday (well Tuesday) and just like she did a few weeks ago, no call nothing and didn't answer my calls/messages. UGH! Then the American League won the All Star game............again. I'm all for a pitcher's duel, but if it isn't like 25 strikeouts (1 pitcher) and 25 ish by the other or a NO NO going, I'd rather have 20 home runs. That's just me.

Anyways, the same guy that sent me the Hostess I posted the other day sent me a few more Tuesday, but of lesser condition with a note saying there would be more.

I'll take em'. I didn't have them so they work for me for now.  I also got a single card PWE Tuesday from another OCTer.

This one had a note saying "here's a toughie for you".

I swear I must of said huh? It wasn't until I actually was checking my excel pages to see if I needed it, when I realized it was a toughie.

See the card back.

Pre Production. Closed out that one. Done.

Let's see what the mailman brings over the next couple of days.

Did I miss it?

This weekend was the Jacksonville card show, and I did not go for the 2nd month in a row. I saved a boatload of money by not going these last two months, so I opted to try and break a record within the OCT (old card traders) group. I took the money not spent there and used it for postage for trade packages for the group. I currently hold the record for the most trades made with a "trading period" (3 months). I'm going to bust it this period by blasting over 500 trades made. I'm already close with 5 weeks in and over 400. My old record was like 498, because a few people did not get their acknowledgements in in a timely fashion. So, I am making sure it is done this time. It has been a blast bombarding five of the guys. Kind of like the wars between Matt & Wes.  So I ask......Did I miss the show? No, I've been having fun, and then there is the return fire that dwindles in (over a long period).

These cards came in on Saturday from Chris Behrend.

The Stargell was the highlight of course.

Today I got 3 more PWE's. One was lined with 2003 Fleer Tradition set build needs.

Here is another one from Bob D'Angelo:

I didn't need the mini, Bob thought it was a parallel. I already have 2 of those Hank Aaron's. I had a beat up copy in the Braves originally, but upgraded that one and shifted it to the set build. Now I will have to shift it over to the Aaron PC.  This one is going to the set build.

The highlight of today's mail:

A very nice 1953 Topps for the team set. Courtesy of Jim Craig. Jim and I went to a Braves game last year (he lives in Delaware). My brother and cousin were there too, I posted about the trip. Yeah, getting cards like these everyday.....no I didn't miss a darn thing.

Have a great night!

Shadow Shots and a winner

2 weeks in and we have a winner for the Winfield RC. Now on to tonight's shadows.

The Eiffel tower.

I don't know some kind of animal, maybe.

How could the Angels logo shadow not make the list?

Be safe!

Congrats Matt on your contest win, drop me an email.

Happy 4th of July

Some Wacky Independence Day! A combo of sorts. some content may not be appropriate for some people.

The back side of the above card.

Old and new alike. Cards have shown Old Glory.

Even the odd sets.

Inserts too.

Oops I did that.

I did say Wacky too.

Is there another way to end July 4th than with fireworks?

See ya!
