Picking right up where we left off last night with part two from Nick.
Again, Nick sent another near complete set. Still need three more cards to complete it. These cards are oversize like the cards from 1953 would be.
Nick did send another set, complete 22 card Greenville Braves from 1990 Best, but I had that set already. There were just three names familiar to the big leagues: Turk Wendell, Kelly Mann, and Al Martin who I only remember being dealt to the Pirates and playing for them. Again, thank you Nick. I appreciate all of the hits to my needs list.
The winner last night was: Jeremy
I collect Bill Bruton. Someday I will have to track down that card of him, he doesn't have all that many.
ReplyDeleteBruton also a former Tigers outfielder.
DeleteI wonder who created those cards. They look TCMA-ish.
ReplyDeleteI think the set was from Fritsch.
DeleteDefinitely Fritsch. From 1983. I have one in my Johnny Antonelli player collection.
DeleteAny set with Sibby Sisti and Ebba St. Claire is a good set.
ReplyDeleteI really like the contrast between the black and white photos with the blue border!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards. Walker Cooper in particular is fantastic. Looks like he's in the driveway of the suburban house. Maybe one of the readers is a "car guy" and can ID the make/model of the car behind him.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to need to come back to read all the tidbits on the backs!
ReplyDeleteNice design. Very plain and easy to read.
ReplyDeleteI only remember Al Martin with the Pirates too. And I only remember Johnny Antonelli with the Giants.
ReplyDeleteTurk Wendell was a Cubs fan favorite!
ReplyDeleteThose are very cool looking. 😎
ReplyDeleteGood Job! 👍
