Closing the Matchbooks so to speak: Hear ye here ye Get your Free baseball cards

The winner last night was: Night Owl

Not for safety reasons we shall close the cover on the matchbooks.

I don't need too many to have all of the Braves from 1934-36. I'll probably work on it next year when I am settled in back home. It is slow progress clearing out 99 years of acquisitions. I will say that I have stumbled across paperwork regarding my father's estate that wasn't taken care of. Fingers crossed that all goes well for two of my sisters and me. We'll see. With the October card show done, I need to get to the ComC and SportLots order, but before I start on those. I need to take care of some other incoming.

  2. I recognize a few of these from my own collection. Restaurants owned by ballplayers are another fun subsection of the hobby.

  6. Initially thought the two Van Mungo matchbooks were the same other than colour, but his eyes are looking in different directions (and the write-up is different)

  8. It looks like they were made by different companies, with all the colors I thought it was by the same one. Good luck with the estate paperwork!

  11. Are you gonna be collecting these now? If so, it looks like you've got a really good start towards a set.

    1. The ones I showed are parts of three different sets 34, 35, and 36. But yeah, when I can get them cheap (these were not) I'll go for them.
