2022 baseball cards picked up at the October Jax. card show and then some. Free cards Free cards Free cards.

 Last night's winner was: GTT

Moving right into the 2022's.

Yes, that is an Acuna autograph! Gallery seems old already and it has only been a month. I've been sending the non Braves out in the prize packages for a month now.

Not a lot of Braves here, but I've got others.

PC guys or future guys and the rookie cups.

Now this next batch came in the other day from Card Barrel.

Like I said I had other Topps Chrome, and that 1 Gallery completed the team set.

As for Chrome it too is complete unless you count the two variations of Freeman and Acuna.

I still need two Prizm Braves: 240 and 245. As for the Finest Flashbacks, I still need several 2022's (23, 65, 74, 206). I like the Flashbacks. I still need 1 (#99 Acuna) from 2020, and need two 2021's (209 Maddux, 212 Chipper).

2022 Archives, still need the SP's (315, 325, 351, 380). I also need all 7 (yes 7) of the base variations. NUTso.

I've included the 2022's from the ComC and SL orders here.

I need 1 more Braves Tribute (20 Murphy) to complete that team set.

I need the following Select: 216, 268, 271, 294, and 298.

Absolute retail is complete, and I need 2 Hobby (25, 57). Pristine is a different story, I believe 4 of the last 5 cards needed are sitting here in my stacks to enter in my excel sheets and on my web page. The last card needed is sitting in my SL cart.

That caps out the 2022's for now. I have plenty of scans to get me through November without having to go to the show on Saturday. I'll start the October gets from the card show on Monday which stay tuned for the last "THEME" posts from the show.... it's a doozie! I would say online with the wrappers, but certainly I paid a hell of lot more for this "batch" of surprises. I'll follow those up with the ComC and Sport Lots orders from October. UPDATE: I will be going to the Jax. show Saturday because my buddy Fred, has some stuff for me.

Tomorrow I've decided to write a post about my Uncle Fred. I can and probably will from time to time post several. He was an interesting character, a wise man, a generous man, and a great Uncle.

  2. 2022 Gallery isn't old to me. I'll probably still be chasing down some of the Dodgers cards a year from now.

Looking forward to your Uncle Fred tales.

  3. I'm not overly impressed with the 2022 Archives, but of the cards I've seen from it on the blogs, I think that Hank Aaron has got to be the best looking card in the set.

  6. I just received a sportlots order of 200 cards and realize that I have no idea how you've gotten through your so quickly. This is going to take me to the end of the year at least!

    1. I took longer than usual as my "routine" has been altered with the passing of my Uncle. The key is routine, after 45 years collecting having a routine is the only way I can get things done. Typically that order should have been checked, sorted, scanned, listed in all 4 places and put away in a week or less.

  7. I love the look of the Pristine cards. That's the first 2022 Select cards I've seen as well, thanks for showing 'em.

    1. Do remember 9 years ago me asking you if you were "that" Reds player?

  8. Hammerin' Hank! Always one of my favorites to watch. My team has always been the Minnesota Twins.

  9. After looking at the Fire cards for a few years (and even owning some), I don't know if I like them or not. They remind me of 90s insert sets, and they are unique. However I'm not big on backgrounds on cards like that. However those cards look nice. That Murphy Archives card looks real nice, I may look for that one even though I don't collect him. The Maddux looks familiar, like they reused the photo.

  10. Looking forward to tomorrow's post!

You've got your 2022s almost all sewed up, just in time for the 2023s to start...

I'm also looking forward to tomorrow's post.

  14. I think Gallery actually looks pretty sharp. I like the team color stripes in the upper left...although it looks like not all have them, and others have more stripes. I assume there is meaning to that?

  15. So many parallels...sigh. I just don't get the appeal. Maybe when there was one (a Topps Gold 93 set), but now that there are 10? It's just frustrating and unnecessary. Now get off my lawn.

Yes, also looking forward to the post about your uncle. Have fun at the show!

  16. That Archives Hank Aaron is fantastic, possibly one of the best cards of the year.

  17. Great cards. I'm still working at getting the '22 Braves teams sets so I haven't seen all of these. The '87 Swanson is a great photo (just pulled that one last night) and I've always liked that Murph pic. Fun post.
