Welcome Back
Kotter that is. When I was at the card show 2 weeks ago I picked up some non sports cards. A complete set of Welcome Back Kotter cards (shown here tonight), and 1 plus sets of Happy Days. The plus comes from one complete series PLUS a partial OpeeChee set of that Series, and and a partial set of another series of Happy Days Topps as well as OPC there. Now I did pick up one baseball set from vendor Fred (he is one of my favorites, the one that someone grabbed up all of the 2017 cards before I got there as we were an hour behind schedule that day). Fred always has a lot of vintage non sports stuff, so I knew he'd be a good chance for my sister Jan to find something she'd like. He most definitely did. She collects playing cards, and he pulled out some that he said were from 1909, 6 in all and in rough shape but not bad. When I looked them up they were actually from an 1890 set, that was super cool but not as cool as the $2.00 price tag for the 6 cards. Jan had a blast.
Now to the baseball cards first. (I didn't scan her cards, I wish I had).
I believe I already had this set, at least I know for certain that I have many of them anyways. But, I grabbed them up just in case. Worse case scenario, I can most of them in the No Hitters binder.
Now a walk down memory lane.
No, that Marvel checklist didn't come with the Kotter cards. i scanned it because the Kotter cards remind me so much from that sticker set, which I do have some stickers (at home).
Here in Georgia I just have these puzzles pieces. Back to the Kotter cards.
The backs can be interesting too.
and some of the cards have puzzle pieces too.

Shadow Shots
Just a few to kick off the weekend. You know when I first throw these "shadow cards" into a pile I see one thing, then I scan them and have no idea what I first seen and whatever it is that I see when I scan them is not the same thing I see when I post them (for the most part).
Scooby Doo! Could be a Kangaroo though and probably should be.
I don't really see anything here with this one, but that is a great shadow of the glove.
I see a creepy crawly thing. A bug of some sort, maybe a bedbug if that is what they look like.
A musical note, which one I have no idea as I am not educated in those matters.

1985 O-Pee-Chee
I recently picked up about 1000 1985 OPC. I have put up a want list for the the ones I still need.
Why do collector's here in the US like/want/collect OPC? They are basically a shortened set version of the Topps set. I know there are various reasons for desiring these pieces of cardboard goodness. 1) the set is shorter, a good reason 2) sometimes the backs are different, a great reason 3) or....
Could it be that little black font stating traded to, or now with there current team? I'm sure there are many other reasons for collecting these cards. I have scanned the dupes that had that little addition in the cards that I got. I like the retirement announcement for Luzinski.

"Drafted By" Another thing for me is that whether the card is a traded to like Moore above, I still include him in my Braves team set because he is donning his Braves uniform. I also collect the traded to Braves as i should as part of the team set. I have several hundred dupes available for trade if anyone is interested, just shoot me an e-mail with your want list.
I also picked up a substantial lot of of 1986 OPC, however I sent those dupes packing.
Usually OPC gets it right, putting the "new" team logo on the card. they missed this one.

WCOT booty
Okay, Wes did his thang as I have received my booty.
First Wes, said pick up to 3 cards.
Then when close to wrapping it up he said pick up to 5 more. Well, I waited til then to make any picks.
We all know Wes throws in a little extra, right? That Elway definitely extra, and I needed it too.
But without the Elway, I still count 9, not 8 nine.
Wes threw in some Braves too.
Plus about 50 more! Thank you Wes, PBIAB, hehe.

More from the Show: 1972 Style
To begin with I don't/didn't have many 1972 Topps cards. I remember reader Mark Hoyle had sent me some a year or two ago which doubled the number I had at that time to give you an idea. I probably added a handful since then. That is until last Saturday.
There are a few big names in there. But, the best part about these cards are the condition, just fantastic.
Some more recognizable names.
I'm still astonished on how crisp these cards are.
One of my regular stops for vintage at the Jax. card show. I have always thought about making an offer on the vintage boxes he sets up out of and just has the boxes to restock his cases if need be. What you see in the above scans are just some highlights. I was making a joke to the guy and said one of these days I'll have to buy those boxes from you. He smiled, said that would be okay. I jokingly said normally I'd only go .50 per box, but in this case I'll do a dollar. He again smiled, shaking his head from side to side. So, I figure he was in a good mood, and I asked about one of the boxes: 1972's. He flipped through it real quick and said there some stars in there and a lot of $4.00 commons. He said $50.00, I countered with $40.00 and he agreed. There were 232 different cards inside.
This is the list of cards I got.
72 Topps even has a few puzzle back cards.
As you can tell by the cards backs nice and crisp, love it. .1793 cents apiece. SWEET!!!!!!!
The newly updated want list for my 1972 Topps Set build. I guess I should explain some of the "marks" . A dot over the number = need to upgrade the set build card I have. A line under a number = A Braves card that I have in the team build. The word UP above a number is a Braves card that needs upgraded. These are the sheets I carry to card shows, but have never once took them inside, LOL.
Feel free to send me all of those 700's I need.
