Less than a Lincoln

I haven't posted one of these in a very long time.

I won an auction over at the Bay for a group of Braves cards for $1.31 plus $2.75 shipping.

The Dansby is what caught my eye, even though I knew I didn't need it. I have it for my team set, and I decided I wasn't going to build the Finest sets any longer. I will be breaking the ones I have up whenever I'm back home. But either way, the Dansby will set you back $2.25 on Just Commons right now so that card alone was worth the winning bid. I needed the blue Freeman, so the cheapest Blue Refractor on JC is $3.50 so that one makes it all around a win for me.

But, there were more cards. I needed this one too.

This one I don't need as it is a LA card, not a Braves. Go figure.

I didn't need this one either. (That's my scanner bed mark).

and both of these were needed as well.

Didn't need this one. But with the 5 needs above plus the Dansby I was feeling pretty good, but yet it wouldn't have been enough for me to put in a low bid.

The Braves Stadium Club even though I didn't need them did push me to throw in a bid.

There you have lots of great Braves cards for less than a Lincoln delivered!.

2017 A & G

I told myself that I wouldn't, but I did anyways. I just couldn't hold back from checking the shelves at Wall World, and low behold 3 blasters of A & G. No, I'm not going to run the base this go around, just the inserts, Braves of course, and other Keepers, and a some to trade.

Go figure, I pulled these Braves. I had just ordered my Braves from JC, the day before. Another reason not to get the blasters. I told myself I was no longer going to set build them, you know cut back on some of the "off" flagship sets.

Trade Post

A few days ago a trading bud. Bob D. posted he had some 2017 Topps inserts up for the grabbing. I .chimed in and here is what I got.

These are all keepers except for the duplicate Max, which is actually a triplicate. It was a boo boo to scan it, but it does remind me that in the first scan above all were doubles except for the Miggy and Freddie. Not doubles that I already had, but doubles Bob sent so that the Independence Day cards can go in my Holiday Binder, which is great!.

 

These are the inserts that I am not keeping. At least not as part of my collection, they will sit in the trade boxes known as inserts and parallels which I probably have 10K or so. I really need to get shed of these, but more importantly would be to shed the 100,000 cards in the dupes/trade boxes sitting in Ocala. Speaking of card dumps, I just unloaded quite a few packages here at the Valdosta Post Office.
Many of you folks out there will be receiving a Christmas in July package Mondayish. I am still working on a a few more that I have to get out yet.  Have a great weekend!

Back to a 55 sticker set, still using the ad/coupon backs as well, which is okay as most are as humorous as the fronts. It's like free sticker, but not a sticker.

2017 STADIUM CLUB

Okay, so I was at Wally World and as usual I stopped by the card isle. 2 Blasters of TSC calling my name. Now before I show both boxes in their entirety, I must say the boxes contain just 40 cards each. That's .50 a card.

The jumbo packs (12 cards each) WoW. were $5.98. Remember when a jumbo pack was like 40 cards? Nowadays that's a blaster. Dang how things have changed.


Here goes Box 1:

Up first we have the 1 and only Braves I pulled from the 8 packs, a Gold Foil, Black Foil, and Power Zone. The Brave and Cano are the only keepers here.

Now the vertical inserts/parallels. Two keepers here too, the Gold Ichiro, and Rizzo.  Now for the base cards (I like usual haven't checked to see if any were variations, oh yeah retail doesn't have any SPs).

Box 1 was loaded with horizontal cards (more than half), I'm looking and hoping box 2 is different. Trumbo hits the mini collections. There's bat barrel Nick may want to find.

Thats it for the upright cards. Moving on to

Box 2:

Same number of inserts, but only 1 was horizontal, liking this box so much better. Add in Chipper Gold Brooks, another Rizzo, and Altuve and the same number of keepers. The Hazelbaker is a Rainbow foil.

25/25. And you can see the card backs.

Bell hits my mini collections, and that Mattingly looks cool.

Love the clock.

I like the 2nd box better. Well, here's to hoping they busted a bunch of this set at my next card show, and I can pick up a bunch for a dime.
