I won an Ebay auction for a trio of Braves.

We all know what 1971's look like on the front.

I needed all 3 of these for the team sets, so the $2.49 I paid was a no brainer.  With shipping ($2.50) they just inched in to qualify for Less than a Lincoln.  Herbel has a corner issue, but I can live with that, and the other two are just fine.

Shadows

This week just flew by. had to hire another new caregiver here, this one started yesterday and seems pretty good so far. Fingers crossed.

This one I've shown before, but hey it's a Braves Maddux card. I forgive myself.  Oh, and the shadow is one of those Star Wars thingys.

Baby elephant.

Star Power

Bringing in the weekend with a Star Studded post.

Tearing it up with a bunch of brand Diamond Kings cards tonight.

I do like the Donruss Greats cards, but the seems like they would have shrunk the photo just a bit more.

Wrapping it up with some Gold Label cards.

All are class 1 except for the Boggs (I think).

This is Different

I promised another oddball post for today so here it is.

12 full size baseball cards/stamps. But you have to mail them from and within St. Vincent and the Grenadines though, lol.

 I remember picking up a set of this 10 years ago or there about. I think I paid maybe $3.00 for it. I thought it was cool. Not sure where that pack is now.

and the back of the intro card. You could mail away for another one of the set you have with this order form found inside the box for $36. LOL! Of course if you mailed a lot of stuff down there, then that would be okay as the stamps total $48.00.

and the last 6 players. I picked up a bakers dozen at the show in Jacksonville. I paid $2.00 for all 13 sets. The vendor was the same guy that had the 1919 BlackSox cards.

More nickel cards

Picking up where I left off yesterday. Also, cards are in no particular order. Well maybe the last scan is.

Overall I grabbed 1,000 cards for the PC.

I know I probably didn't need all of them. I see the dupe Nomar right there, and there were a bunch of others that I did catch before scanning (100ish). I knew I was grabbing dupes when I was pulling them, I just didn't care. Some (200ish) were for set build needs and those I did not scan.

Frank Thomas and Mike Piazza 2007 Topps Red Backs for a nickel. There will be more of those later on.

Donruss (Studio) looks so GOOD with Logos.

Nickel cards

This is the first of many posts highlighting the nickel cards I picked up in Jacksonville this month.

All PC guys as are all of the nickel cards in this series. I wasn't a fan of the Panini Chronicles from 2017, but I do like the 2018's.

It would be hard to pick a favorite from these 9. PEDs and all, lol.

The Bench takes the cake in this 9.

I finally got my first Sunoco cards. The Murray at the top is almost a waste of cardboard.

Diamond Kings, throwbacks, shiny, and inserts. Nice 9.

Skipping out

I am playing hookie today from my normal Shadow Shots. I have 1 post that I put together from 1 under-rated set to show from this month's card show.  These will kick off the nickel cards I mentioned.

Whether they're in color or black and white, just very nice cards.

The 2005 UD Classics is loaded.

These guys are alll PC guys.

Well the bottom 3 here are not, those are just so you can see the card backs. This is a great set, the only thing slightly off is that they should have shrunk the photos just a little bit more.

1919 Black Sox

Here is the the first post of the odd items I picked up last Saturday.

No, not an empty box of a 30ish year old unauthorized set. The box was full. Here is the current Larry Fritsch "sale" on this set.

Yeah, That's a hard one to take serious. This is a 26 card set with the extra Joe Jackson in red.

This is what the backs look like on the cards with a border, the rest are blank.

A lot of great names there, after all they did make it to the World Series. Several PC guys for me.

Here is a comparison shot next to a standard baseball card, slightly smaller.

Now, for those who peeked at the LF card sale from the link above, I picked up up 59 of these sets last Saturday. It would have been 60 but 1 of the boxes was empty. That is a whole box (48 sets) plus 12 extra (boxes). Yeah I paid $5.00 for them all (less than a dime a set). Here is an Ebay current listing for a box of 48.

Wacky Wednesday

Okay, I scanned up the cards I had stacked here in Valdosta that go into the Wacky folder. These are cards that I find interesting in one way or another. I recently finished up the cards I had scanned previously. This go around you will undoubtedly see cards I've shown before and see cards I haven't. What is different this go around is that I will be saving the cards I just scanned so as to "not" repeat them in the future. I know that is not entirely possible all of the time. In advance forgive me for duplication. I know for a fact that a few cards I have done already this year, but you'll have to tolerate this go around.


Here are tonight's contestants (there isn't a competition in reality). All three are of the horizontal variety.

Just a great dirty jersey on the knees hands in the air great shot. Stadium Club by far out does all the other brands.

Here is one of those cards that I am certain I did a couple of months ago. Still a terrific card.

A little (okay a lot) scuffed but fantastic none the less.

OCT cards and then something special

An OCT trading bud sent me a few things recently.

Pache is seeing a rise in the price of his cards recently.

An Acuna parallel insert, always good.

Seems like Riley has been around for a decade, lol.  But I guess Topps feels he's ready for the show.

Now I made a best offer on Ebay and it was accepted.

Oh yeah.  $11.00 and it was mine.  Now I need to find a similar deal for the Fleer and Donruss cards because I still need two of each of those. I still need another OPC too, that way the sets and the PC are taken care of.
