Did I get something from the North Pole?

Or was is the other Nick from Dime box? It was addressed N.P. Okay okay, it was a package from Nick.

I did need the Silver Prizm Wilson for sure, and I'm not positive which Blue that first one is. Wonderful Monds there closed out the team set for the Fleer. The 2 Collector's Choice cards there were a big surprise tome as they are from the Traded set which I didn't know existed. I'll have to track down the rest of the Braves (apx 6 more). Freeman is from the newly released Chrome Update is you can call it that. I do have the team set enroute to me, but Freddie is a PC guy so it's all good. Colon Xfractor, parallel Chipper and the Smoltz too were all needs. in fact all of the cards here tonight were needs.

Nick packaged this lot in a big envelope probably because that Javy autogph came inside the sealed package. I of course freed him from that prison.

Lots of the Jones boys here, and that top middle Chipper is the Twizzlers card.

Rounding out the Braves needs with these Dover reprints. Thanks Nick for the fantastic package.

Night all!

Incoming

With travel in the coming days. I need to get some incoming cards posted.

Made a trade with some 57 dupes. These were my return. Came from fellow OCTer Bob R.

This paring also came from an OCTer, Doug F.

And this one came from Pennys Sleeve himself Jon.

Packages also came in from Marc B (Remembering the Astrodome) and Dimeboxadonia Nick. Each will need their own post.

You just never know.

A dual meaning with that post title (double edge sword). Today was/is a sad day as my Aunt Shelby passed away just as my Uncle and I were getting in from church. She was the baby and only girl, 14 years younger than my Uncle Fred the eldest of four siblings and now the only surviving. My Uncle buried my dad back in 98' and my Uncle J.C. in 03'. The funeral is going to be this Wednesday as her children want to make sure in no delays especially for Fred to make it there (5-6 hour drive into Canton, Ga.). He is torn apart, and I can only hope by the fast service that he is able to get through this time. He spoiled my Aunt her entire life, needless to say they were close. I hope his depression will part him quickly, it has been a rough day for sure. It's hard for me to watch him hurt like that. But........

I always say to make lemonade when given lemons.

So this afternoon while taking a a few minutes to allow Fred to eat something I grabbed up a non sports set that I had brought back from my house last week. It was the Series 1 Harley Davidson set. I browsed through the cards why I pondered on just how and when to tell him about Shelby. Low and behold, look at what was in this set of cards.

This card would fit nicely into the Flag/July 4th binder. I'll have to see if I have another set back home.

This card would fit into my President's binder.

A view of the back with the write up about President Reagan.

A baseball player.....A Braves player.......Warren Spahn the HOfer...

See you just never know. I'm not sure if I have ever actually looked at these cards before or if I just forgot which is absolutely possible.

Normally, I wouldn't have put out a post today, but this is just that it is. Besides, I'm not sure what Wednesday will bring just yet.

Pearl Harbor Day

As per my usual my Pearl Harbor annual tribute in cards for the most part. But first, My condolences go out to those victims and their families from the shooting there just a few days ago and also to those at the Naval base in Panama City, Fl.  Some people are just nuts like the country song says. God is Great, beer is good , and people are crazy. Thank you for all those who served and especially to those families who lost loved ones on this date.

Remembering this day.

ComC Florida third and final

this is the last of the cards that was sitting in Ocala for 2 months. Finally. I just got another Comc order today, but that it for another day. I promised colorful and here it is.

RWB, Orange and Green donuts, These are easy to figure out which they are.

Blue MoJo. Somewhat easy too. (But there several blue parallels that are not numbered, not so easy).

Pink easy too, but the Blue. First I thought they were the blue prizms, but now I'm thinking Navy Blue.

Hyper Red, Zebra, and Purple.

Top card is the Silver prizm, the next two were base cards I needed, and the last two are Power Plaid.

I'm thinking these are Hyper Blue, but not sure and that Wilson seems a little different but could just be the background.

Hyper Purple/Green.

Red MoJo.

I said it would be colorful. I put one heck of a dent in the Braves needs with this haul, but still nowhere near complete. Not even half way.

ComC Florida part 2

Here is the first batch of Braves from that order that sat down in Ocala, for 2 months.

A very colorful batch.

Topps Now, On Demand, and a couple of Variations from this year's flagship.

1 more On Demand and more variations from flagship.

A few Throwback Thursday's.

Topps Holiday (but they should be called Bowman Holiday in my opinion).

Some Panini for you.  Notice the serial numbers on Dansby. I would've much rather they mix up the color a bit too.

The first Albies is the regular version. Acuna is a die cut, and are both of the lower Albies (the numbered card is the gold version).

A few PNT.  Remember when Panini was licensed? Man those cards were awesome, and these would be too with logos.

I guess the same could be said with these too. But they really aren't that bad.

I'll wrap up this package tomorrow with another very colorful lot.

Wacky Wednesday

Getting closer to the end of the year, and the "suspension" of what you have come to know as Wacky Wednesday's. No, the theme itself and post title each week will be the same. Just not baseball cards, and not 3 cards either. No, I will be highlighting stickers, and that's all I am saying tonight.

Other than a complete 9 card scan.

Two more weeks til the break enjoy!

I didn't know

Due to today being Cyber Monday and all, I won't eat up much of your time.

I didn't know about this insert from Topps. If I did I probably blew it off. I somehow wound up with this card for my PC. Can you spot the error?

This is the backside of the card showing the correct version.   Do you see it now?

ComC Florida part 1

I had no plans on doing very much shopping yesterday, other than maybe ComC. Which reminds me that I finally picked up that package from months ago that was sent to Ocala. Remember me bitching about it? Well, I did anyway if not here on the blog in my mind and to ComC. I finally picked it up and I will have to break it into a few posts. This was the first time I had actually placed a large order. I had it shipped back home to avoid paying taxes. This was before I learned how to avoid that all together.

Tonight I'll start off with the vintage non-Braves cards I added to my collection.

White letter Trophy Cup, done!

Added a 52'.

Before I bought that binder late September I had ordered this Herzog. And yes, I still needed it after the binder and the Ebay lot.

Gibson, is probably the most cracked up star. Bench is n't too bad and neither is the Seaver up top which was the priciest of them all. The rest are really nice and even flat. Only one actually had that normal bow in it. With just these cards you can see why I was so anxious about getting the package.

I start the Braves additions Thursday.
