Jacksonville Autos

Showing the autographs I picked up at the card show Saturday before last.

Highlighting the Braves and a couple of other star autographs. Not bad for .45 each.

A bunch of Florida ties autos here.

There were these gator autos in the box. Nice looking Danny boy. I'm good with those even if the NFL is doo doo to me.

Besides the cards that filled that 3K count box, I also grabbed up some 8x10 autos. Which brings me to an unannounced CONTEST. Starting with the 8x10 below correctly guess what these 8x10's set me back. All photos are below (but 1...sort of).

Francisco Cabrera.

Klesko is a non listed PC guy of mine, so this one was a nice add.

Crime Dog in silver sharpie, another nice add.

Glavine, HOFer

Another Gator.

Chipper, HOFer too!  Notice the #23.

Now the rest aren't Braves or Gators.

Bwak, Bwak..

Bwak Bwak.

Silver sharpie.

Same photo, but in black sharpie and different location of auto. So It's a keeper too.

Now this one is a dupe. Rather the 1 8x10 not scanned is a dupe of this one, and it is the prize for guessing correctly.

Both of these were nice adds too. One in blue and one in black. Works for me.

Here is what the back of Pete Rose autos looks like.

The contest for a signed Chicken 8x10 is open to followers of this blog and you must comment on this post. I'll radomize the entries 14 times, #1 spot gets it.  Contest closes tomorrow night at midnight EST.

Shadow Shots

It's a beautiful Saturday morning here. Thank goodness. I am one of those guys that prefers 100 degrees over 50, and today will be in the mid 70's. Our lows this week have been in the 30's and 1 night 20's. Next week near 80's, so it won't be long for it to get to my happy zone of 85-90. Some like it HOT, at least I do.

An Ostrich (before it sticks his head in the sand).

A fly swatter.

Trophy cup.

A dinosaur.

Have a great weekend, be safe, have fun, and it you can't be good..... be good at it.

Less than a Lincoln

While reading a post from Fuji the other day, I was reminded I had this post to get out.

It has been awhile since on posted on this theme. I don't know why, I love it. Who wouldn't? After all, getting a steal of a deal on a card, card lot, or set for $5.00 or less. Definitely worthy of a post. I need to get back to seeking these deals out. I did recently have one such deal.

A complete still in box complete set of 1994 Post baseball cards.  I wasn't going to scan them individually as the checklist above is more adequate.

Yep delivered for $1.51. That is more than a deal and qualifies for the "Lincoln Files". Heck, I figured the dealer would just refund my money. He didn't, sent them in get this.... a long PWE with 2 stamps, and it got to me with no postage due.

See ya!

Card show info

Just a little insight to what I brought home from Jacksonville this past Saturday.

I brought home 3 of these size boxes. One was minor autographs from a vendor that travels around Florida getting autographs, one was all vintage from Daryl (a regular and good guy), and the one above was from a new dealer/want to be dealer. I grabbed the box you see above for $40.00.

These are the PC guys that I pulled out of his box. I know I said I was not going to do this unless it was a super deal. I think this was a super deal all by itself, but there was more keepers.

Braves and set builds here.

More set builds here too.  Damn sure I got my $40.00 worth on this box. I wound up spending 1.3 cents on each card. I did go a little crazy at the show. I blame it on the fact that I hadn't been there in 5 months.  I am pretty sure I spent as much as I would have had I gone to each of the last 5 shows. Shame on me, I didn't want to do that.

I won't be showing the vintage or the autos tonight (each on their own night), but I will break them down for you.

The box of autos broke down to .45 cent each, and I also picked up some 8x10's and other items.

The box of vintage from Daryl contained cards from the 50's-70's with a handful of early 80's (25 or 30). All cards were in sleeves and top loaders so the final numbers were 625 baseball and 140 football. I haven't scanned these yet and I may not. The price breakdown was .25 each card. I also grabbed to relic cards from him.... 8 to send to Wes (JBF).

I grabbed 8 of the boxes you see below from my buddy Eddie. I will be highlighting those individually as well. I am calling them Jax. Blasters, as I paid $20.00 each box.

Eddie threw in 800 Braves cards too. I needed a lot of them (100ish). I'll post highlights from each "blaster" as their own post.

I bought from 7 vendors in total. The four above plus the following (will be showing each on their own post):

Chuck: Vintage in EX condition for 10% of book! Hard to pass up.

Larry: a bunch of 54"s Topps & Bowman for .75 each.

Fred: my favorite vendor at this show: grabbed a bunch of goodies for a buck a pop!

Have a great night!

Wacky Wednesday

I am so tired. I have been crushing the hours the last 5 days. Why? Organizing the Jax. card show haul. Neck hurts, back hurts (heck it always hurts), eyes hurt, elbows, and you get the idea. Let's have a quickie.

Nice superman. These are the first 2019's to make the wacky files.

A bat flip.  Looking too cool.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Come on bring me home.

The card show on Saturday was exhausting. I lost control, and tried to make up the 4 months I skipped it. I'll break it down slowly and gently for you folks all month.

Late

I'm running a little behind tonight. I'll try to keep this one short and SWEET!

THESE CARDS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.

I know portraits, but these are vintage. Overall pretty good shape. I still need 6 more to complete the set plus the notorious 3 card #80.  I need 2, 3, 28, 34, 47, 72... and 80 A, B, C.

Trade Day. Still 5 remaining cards.

Still here. Can't move on to the next batch without eliminating these.

TRADE POST: ALL RELICS

UPDATED: last week we shed four of the cards. Those individual scans have been removed. Still have 5 of these to go. Simple trade, a Braves relic or pretty much any baseball relic will probably do. Card for card. Let's do this! Heck even a parallel Braves card that I need might work too.

Rambling wreck. Played with the Chiefs, Steelers, Skins, and Texans.

Husker. Played with Atlanta, Chiefs, and San Diego.

Cowboy or Sooner (take your pick). Nice patch.  Played with the Broncos, Lions, Broncos again, and the Florida Tuskers (UFL) where he set a game rushing record of 365 yards.

Tiger. Played with the Saints for 9 years.

Hokie. Played for the Jaguars, and is now a deputy sheriff in Jax.

If you see something you like LMK or if you just want to get rid of your baseball relics (especially any Braves)    LET'S TRADE! 1 OR ALL five.

Have a great night.

Shadow Shots

Just a few to ponder and contemplate what you see in the darkness.

I don't really see anything in the shadow but this is a great card. Wait a minute it..... I see this "a" in the shadow.

I see someone practicing martial arts/ tai chi.

Okay this one is a stretch so tilt your head to the right. I see an alien with a ray gun.

Easy one, an elephant.

Braves blaster

I scooped up some needed Braves from Cardbarrel recently (I do all the time). This time I hit up the Topps brands the best I could.

A whole bunch of shiny 90's cards.

more of the same.

Trying to keep the order for the most part.

Beautiful red Finest cards. Although the name box is pretty lame.

One thing about having HUGE want lists is that there is always some cheapies to be had.

Grabbed up just enough to cover the free shipping.

I really like those two 2014's on the top. Great looking design, but a smaller action shot would have made them even better.

I'm heading to the Jax card show tomorrow. It has been a few months, fingers crossed for success.
