Last month fellow OCTer Tim Morales offered up on our message board a complete set of 1991 Muscular Dystrophy baseball cards with the mini binder included. I waited for a half a day and no one jumped at the odd ball set, so I replied if no one else wants them I'll take them.
4 PC guys.
Four more for PC guys bringing the total to 14/20 (14/19). Yeah, I'm glad no one else was interested. I kept the set together as whole and placed it on top on my bookcases with the other odd ball stuff.
There was a 2nd MDA set produced the following year 1992. I checked one out on Ebay but didn't bite. It was like 7.00 plus 7 for shipping. I figure I'll catch one at a show for $5.00 one day.
Now for the Bet ya didn't know. When I was a kid here in Ocala, my mom made me join a "singing group" The Little People (she made my sister Kathy too but she didn't really participate). This is NOT the "famous" group that came much much later. Believe it or not the group did quite a bit back in the day. In my tenure we sang at the White House, performed with Tanya Tucker, and to tie this to MDA, we even did a Jerry Lewis MDA telethon. I remember that well. My mom gathered lots and lots of autographs from famous singers of the day (I believe I still have them). Jerry himself was present which no where on the internet does it say he was ever in Florida in person, but I tell you he was. I think we were in Jacksonville, not positive on that as it could have been down south a bit. Anyways some "star" got really pissed off at Jerry because he had "our group" do an encore that bumped the star. Obviously that was not shown on t.v. but was live and up front to me and told them (the female star) tough.
