Great news sort of, my mother is coming home from the Hospice House they sent her to last weekend after a hospital stint of a few days. This weekend maybe post dry. She will still be in Hospice care, but at least she is/will be home (should be here at 2:30 pm) and I can watch over things. That is a huge weight off of my shoulders. I haven't slept but a couple of hours these last few days. I know they do good things, but I just don't trust them, I'm sorry I feel that way, but it is what it is. Lemonade, right?
Anyways, here is this weeks Franken-pages 64, 65, & 66.
Page 64: 7/9
The only thing missing here is maybe Score and/or another piece of vintage to go along with the Garr. A nice high end current card would fit nice as well.
Page 65: 8/9
Topps heavy, but no dupe sets there like the 90 Fleer, another very nice piece of vintage and good mix of players.
Page 66: 9/9 complete!
Again with the 90 Fleer, but those 2 pieces of vintage more than make up for it. Just check out Torrealba's mustache.. Is that super crooked or what? A vintage bunt always looks good in a Franken-set.
Cya, have a great weekend!
A blog about the cards I get awesome deals on, cards that I have available to trade, trades and our hobby in general. I collect Braves cards (all of them) and T206 White Borders.

Return fire and some website changes
Last week, maybe the week before I got a package from Adam over at ARPSmith's Sportscard Obsession. It came from out of the blue with a little note saying it was for the Giants I sent him at Christmas as part of the card dump (phase one).
I think that Chipz is the magnetic one, I'm not sure it doesn't stick to the fridge, but a magnet does stick to it. 2015 insert, sweet! Parallel Certified Materials.
Two more parallels and 2 that I should've had but didn't. Never go wrong with a Chipper or a Smoltz.
In case you haven't looked at my website page, I made a few changes.
For one the Birthday Binders pages are clearly marked. All of my sub-pages have and remain at the very bottom of the main page.
https://sites.google.com/site/johnnystradingspot/home
I just like them there for some reason. I still need to add the cards that I have for each player, but I am working on that.
Two, I have separated my Braves needs into MANY sub-pages ie: pre-90s, 90s, 2000-2004, 2005-2009, 2010-2014, and 2015. This makes it so much faster to update those pages which will allow me to finish updating those last 11 years. By updating I mean adding the inserts that I need that are not listed and any other cards for that matter.
Three, I have added a page for my Hall Worthy (player's I collect). It is just a list for now with how many cards that I have for each player, which after one week is outdated (I've added about 1000 cards to it). In time as the page states, I will be putting sub-pages on that page itself for each of the players with the cards that I have, very tedious and will be extremely time consuming, but should be doable this year.
Future plans: to add pages for the handful of mini collections (other than the Bday binders) with the cards that I have for them as well. This probably won't happen this year though. as I am still dumping mini collections. BTW..... I had mention to the Jedi himself that the next mini to go is the "bunting" collection. He hadn't responded back yet, so for now they are going to be up for grabs if someone wants a HUGE start up mini collection. There are apx. 360ish unique, and then there are apx 100 duplicates left now which I will do a separate trade for those. That 360+ is a great starter for a mini collection, so if anyone is interested in putting together a trade JLMK.
I am hoping that listing the players I collect (and eventually the cards I have), will help out those who have run out of Braves, LOL. For now, I do have the cards owned in excel format on my laptop. Of course there are so many of those, I had to break it down into several (5) separate documents each with about 20 or so sheets each. Never ending the tweeking that we collector's do. Oh well, it gets us to spend time on our hobby and the extra organizing (albeit, time consuming) helps us to manage our OCD issues, right? LOL>>>>>>LOL>>>>>>LOL!

One for the Lincoln Files
Just posting up one Lincoln deal tonight, although there have been many of late. Just keeping it simple right now.
1984 7-11 Slurpee discs for the Hall Worthy binders.
Some more 84s.
Some more 84s. Although that Hernandez is not a binder guy. The only one of the ten I got that wasn't. Ten?.. There's only nine there.
That's because the tenth one is from 1985. Brings the cost per item to 29.9 cent each. Yeah, if I had of seen these in a quarter box somewhere, I would've grabbed them.

$2 Binder Breakdown
Weekend before last I had gotten some cards for the ole binders and since showcased them here at Johnny's Trading Spot. That same trip to the flea market also netted me a $2.00 binder. That is a bit pricey for me, as I usually pick "binders" up at yard sales for .25 each or a box of them for a couple of bucks. So why did I pay $2 bucks for a binder that was not in the best of shape? That part is easy.... it had 71 pages inside..... you guessed it they were NOT empty, in fact most were double stuffed. The pages alone would have been worthy of the pair of Washington's. I did have to ditch 28 of them, rather cut them up for my triple wide PWEs. Anyways, I know I could have used this binder for the Lincoln Files, but decided it was too big for one of those posts. So what did I get inside the binder?
A quick breakdown: complete 132 card 1990 Topps traded set (I already have 3 boxed sets so no biggie), 34 for Hall Worthy binders, 17 for the mini collections, 15 Braves, 6 for the Birthday binders, 15 inserts, 18 basketball cards, and in addition to those I also got 15 1991 Fleer, 22 1990 Leaf, 12 1991 Ultra, 36 1992 Triple Play, 14 1993 Donruss, 28 1992 Pinnacle, 20 1992 Studio, 79 1992 Ultra (series 2...fate), 64 1991 Studio, 108 1991 Stadium Club, 243 1992 Stadium Club, 60 miscellaneous cards, and 46 duplicates.
Those were some of the Hall Worthy.
A couple of the basketball, and 4 of the misc.
A couple of the 93 Donruss, but check out Ripkens back of the card. Both of these cards would make "other" peoples mini collection.
The grimace on his face as if he just knows he is going to miss it and will get klunked in the nads.
3 of these make "other" peoples mini collections. And the fourth, well, that is a heck of a grip on the ball, even though it might not qualify as a grip shot.
All 4 of these make "other" peoples mini collections.
Van slyke would've made the Superman binder, but alas no more. At least not for me.
By now, you're getting the drift.
Studio sure does have a lot of the players loving on their bats, don't they?
I got it, but just in case.
Great cards.
Pretty sure I am happy with the $2 expediture. Let's not forget the binder itself.

Franken Friday
Another week has flown by and the weekend is upon us. Enjoy it, you never know what's in store.
Pages 61, 62, 63.
Page 61: 9/9 complete
Good mix years, brands, and players even with the double 88 Fleer and double Justice. 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s. And best of all it is complete.
Page 62: 9/9 complete.
No doubles here, AWESOME! 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s. Yeah me. And two HOFers!
Page 63: 7/9
No duplicate sets or players and that is good. Love that a heritage made it into a slot.
Enjoy the weekend.

The Griffey Collection
I don't have too many cards of Junior, but what I do have as of today is here. I will keep the commentary at minimal, enjoy!
We'll get this party started with that Moeller card.
It would be really hard to choose a favorite from these 9.
Nice trophy in pic upper left.
Scrolling back through this set, just now I kind of get a Christmas like feeling. Must be all that Red & Green.
I bet you folks are glad those are over, huh?
A signing. Some Black Gold.
A donut on an oddball, and I like the text "The Kid". But one of my favorites is the Triple Play with the bat and ball in mid air and no hands JUST COOL. I used to have so many more cards of Jr, but like all of my binder guys, I didn't start collecting them until a few months ago. In the past I just traded them away, shame on me, LOL.
