Back to the SHOW

Last night's winner was: Adam (from Ohio). Adam is a brand new follower here at the blog, and former and now once again blogger himself. Adam I will need your address and please let me know your favorite teams and /or players. Thank you.

I will say this about Random.org, it seems like every time a new name is plugged in they usually win. It at least feels that way after doing this drawing for 8 months. Random is what random is.... I guess.

Okay now let's get back to the what will be the never ending March Jax. card show, lol. I had made mention last week that I was going to show the 2023 PC guys from that first box (the .50 box) that I bought 1/2 the box (baseball only) the other half was FB and BKB after I did my Braves. Here they are.

I am only showing the non base cards as we have pretty much seen enough. Cease isn't a PC guy or Musgrove, but they were nice cards to fill the space.

I was excited to grab this box because it had nearly the complete 2023 Topps base set with all of these wonderful inserts. However....

Bottom row is for my Trophy Cup collection. I did get Harris and Witt, but they went to the set build. Actually I pulled two Harris but the first one went to the Braves team set.

Shiny rainbow foil.

Gold foil, gold, blue, and a vintage stock parallel.

Mike Trout is the chrome version.

Quite a few of these 88' throwbacks.

One blue parallel and one silver pack.  Did you forget that I left you hanging a minute ago?  You know where I left off with However....?

I also mentioned last week that I was heading to another show (Apopka) this past weekend and I did. Won't be doing that too often, but there is a HUG flea market close by that I may hit up from time to time. Anyways, The first purchase I made at the Apopka show (BTW: it is a monthly show held at the Bahia Shrine Club) threw that out there as yesterday was Masonic Monday. The first purchase came from a dealer who had six (6) partial sets of 2023 Topps series 1. Also 6 identical in the count and cards. 315 of the 330 cards in the set. $5.00, that's right five bucks! I bought one, even though I didn't need it. They were in order too. Easy to see what was missing.

Other than that I made only two more buys (technically three), but from two sellers. I will eventually get those scanned and posted, but only the highlights.

MASONIC MONDAY: Let's drive this thang! Plus the almost daily FREE card giveaway!

The winner Friday night was TDK, between RJ and him they have taken  six of the last eight, WOW!

Now on to the post. It is a very short one.

As you read there part II of Henry Ford was released the following month. However, I do not have that issue, sorry.  Next week we'll be enlightened or maybe not.

Happy St. Patrick's Day and more of the usual FREE stuff too.

Last night's winner was: RJ who has 3 wins in 8 days.

I also forgot that today was St. Patrick's when I posted about what I was posting tonight (I'll do those on Tuesday).

I like finding the green hats worn on St. Patty's Day. Below we have the birthday fellas.

This Braves card is out of order (should have been up top).

If you are going to indulge this evening..... be safe. Meanwhile it is very good to be back home. I am planning on attending another card show tomorrow, and then next week there is one right here in Ocala. So it's looks like I'll have the opportunity to go every weekend to a show. Yes indeed it feels good to be back home.

I did.... I did go to Jax and rambled my way through a card show.

The winner last night was: SanJose Fuji

I won't make you wait any longer. I brought back a TON of cards from the show. No not 2000 lbs., but maybe 200 lbs. lol. I will be scanning for a very long time. I'll break it down for you.

I only seen one dime box dealer. He did offer me 5 monster boxes for $90.00. I didn't buy any of those whole boxes. I did dig through them and pull out about 150 cards, gave him $10.00. I will eventually show two posts of non baseball sets from those.

I did buy a .50 box well half of it. The other half was basketball and football, and I explained that I don't want those, then he said pull those out and he would let me have the baseball for what I offered. Pretty much the entire series 1 of 2023 Topps included, but I will only highlight the inserts and parallels cards from that set (tomorrow). I'm sure we've seen enough of the base cards already, besides you have to look at my Braves base tonight along with the other Braves goodies.

UGH! 5 horizontals. No worries on the missing Braves (or the missing set build needs), they are already en-route to me.

Two rainbow, 2 gold, and a gold foil. I also have the Maddux Aces coming too. Yes, I purposely scanned doubles of the Maddux/Glavine. One is for the PC's and both are PC guys.

So there you have my Braves from that one box.

The other boxes (5) I brought home were all dollar boxes, no I didn't pay that of course. I worked those dollar cards down to less than a dime. I will show those off in the coming days/weeks and it will be a lot of posts. Just got to sort and scan them.

I did make a purchase that was not a dime or less.

I figured I get these while the getting was good.

Panini really pissed me off here. Rather an employee. Seriously how hard would it have been to square up that "E" even center it and lower it a bit. That would have looked SO MUCH BETTER.

Tomorrow I will finish up with that first box I bought. But in the coming posts sometime this month there is a lot of ODD BALL stuff, and some of it might just have some sort of writing on it. There is a lot of that stuff.

On another note (or two): I made an error in the 1980 Topps Super description that Fuji sent me. It is according to TCDB listed as 1980 Topps Superstar Photos Gray back (again I have the white back version as well).

2) My shed/mini barn was delivered and set up, but there is a little hiccup or two. My yard is sloped intentionally for runoff so that when it rains the pooling is minimal. I also had a tremendous amount of land clearing and site prep recently and the ground is very soft. I was told when I contracted the deal that they would be setting it up and leveling up to 6". Well, one corner did/does need 6" and the front needs 4" on the down grade side. They shimmed with 2x4's but that ain't going to cut it in the soft dirt. As one corner settled quickly 2 inch the shed shifted a little bit. I am going to have to get five solid 4" concrete blocks/slabs. Two for the back corner and 1 for each of the runners on the down side (east). That means I have to get someone back out here with a tractor to "jack that side up" while I place the blocks. Not really a big issue, but it does prevent me from filling the shed up which I was planning to do today and be done with it. So, now I wait again. Makes me wish I had a small tractor with various attachments. Then again, after this fix is done really what would I do with a tractor? So I wait.... again.

All the way from San Jose and the usual FREE FREE FREE

The winner last night was once again TDK who has hit it three times in the last several days.

Bo made mention of a box he got from SanJose Fuji (MARK). I too got me a box from him with nothing but Braves inside.

I scanned the backs on purpose. These ar enot the base Zenith cards, they are the jumbo 5x7's. You can notice the "Z" in front of the number. Now these cards other than size and number are the identical version of the regular cards. Mark sent three of these over sized Braves and I needed these two.

Up top you can see the front of the Zenith card as I needed the Lopez base card (I already had the Jumbo which Mark sent also). I needed all of the others here too. The Wade Finest card is a refractor.

Here we have a 1980 Topps Super and the reason I scanned the back is because this one is the gray back version. I had the white back already. Parallels even way back in 1980. LOL! I am pretty sure I have the 1990 coins, but they were not listed in my excel sheets, so maybe I don't. Then again, I may have the complete box set, either way these are now listed. I hated the Topps coins from the late 80's into 1990 which is why I may have chosen not to list them. Who knows, at some point once all of my reorganization is done, I'll know.

Meanwhile, an update on that. My shed is supposed to be delivered tomorrow.

Wrapping up the hanger packs of Chronicles

The winner last night was: RJ

Okay, it is time to finish off the hanger packs of Chronicles I bought with a finishing touch of a couple of "special Chronicle cards and then my Braves.

THREADS: simple design but nice. I like it.

VERTEX: These look pretty good laid out like this.

XR & ZENITH: Two of the nicer sets with the master set.

I'm not chasing the AMERICA'S PASTIME set, but I did pull two.

Now for the couple of special cards.

Goldy is serial #d to 100, but the Torkelson is numbered to 10!

Alas, my Braves needs (for the team set). 4 Acuna's and a pair of Strider's.

Masonic Monday: To the Moon plus some free stuff

First things first. Apparently, I forgot to name the winner for:

Thursday night: Benjamin

Now for Friday night's winner: TDK.

Tonight's episode is all about Buzz Aldrin.

Edwin E. Aldrin Jr.= BUZZ

There ya go, just like I said: out of this world. Which brings to mind the term we all say: "Literally". I find that an oxymoron. For me "literally" is pertaining to literal spoken or written words, when in fact most of the cases where I find myself "having" to use the word  (literally)"physically" is a much more appropriate word.  It seems I only use it literally when speaking about a physical action from the past or present. Always physical. Sorry to get philosophical, but it has always bugged me physically and I suppose literally too.  LOL. Now it's your turn to go ponder about things that make you go "huh?"

I'm such a PITA, I love it.

Friday, yep going to a card show tomorrow.

 The winner last night was:

Pinnacle and a new to me brand RECON. Those are sharp.

REVOLUTION. I got a lot of parallels of this one.

I miss the old style ROOKIES & STARS.

Yes, I scanned a couple more parallels by mistake. This time  I didn't have the base card though.

Closing the weekend out with TITAN. This set is totally bland except for the parallels which spice it up a bit.

Have a great weekend, be safe!
