Card Show......... Fred's stuff: part 1

I will have to break this portion of the card show goodies into two posts. All of what you see tonight came from my buddy Fred. Not his buddies stuff, but Fred's.

Here we go.

I'm trying to complete the run of these Heritage puzzles. Trout is the first one completed.

Clemente (like Trout) is a PC guy as are all of the cards in this post and the next.

I have no idea what this is. It is card stock and is apx 3.5" wide and apx 4" tall. If you know what or where this comes from let me know.

There are several PC guys on these stamps. Yes, I will be separating them for their PC. No worries if your a Dodger fan, as this was an extra set. More in another post.

Fred had a bunch of 8x10's.

I don't believe that is an actual autograph on this "copy". I think it is a copy of the front of an old program that had been signed.

I'll have to copy these over to my JRD file.

No idea who what or where.

Again, I don't believe those are autographs, not sure. The paper itself is NOT a copy, but an original.

I'll stop here with Ali. There is another post of Fred's stuff. When I asked how much, Fred told me $10.00. Just wait til you see what else I got from him.

Wacky Wednesday: Original Series 6

Last month I was able to acquire a large collection of Wacky packages. Over 400. I completed several set builds, and most certainly added a lot of the *  ** variations.I added a slew of stickers that I didn't have any of before of that/a particular set.

Tonight we are looking at the Series 6 stickers. I cropped these individually, but the remaining Series posts will be full scans (9 stickers/cards) each. Enjoy.

Each of the stickers you'll see tonight were either upgrades or the * ** variations that I needed.

Well, except for one sticker.

That one, was the lone sticker needed to complete the set (without the variations).

It isn't this one.

Dah dah, it was this one.

The next series that I was able to add too is series 8 (next week's post). Which completed that series as well as this one.

Card Show treats

I showcased the Braves yesterday that I picked up this past Saturday. Not a slew as my focus was to be grabbing vintage set build needs from cheap boxes. At least that was the plan. I didn't get to hit up but two dealers so I really don't know what I missed out on. I dug through 5 3K boxes at my buddy Fred's table, but those were cards that he had there for his buddy and not his cards. We'll look at some of those tonight. That is not to say I didn't get some of Fred's stuff......I did and you'll have to wait for a special post on that stuff.

The other table I dug through provided me 10 1.5K count $1 boxes. Most of those will come in "some" of the vintage posts (at least 2). I bought bulk so I got a deal rather more of a discount on the cards.

With the future laid out let's look at some of the PC guys I grabbed out of Fred's buddy's $5.00 boxes. And yes, I did get a deal on those, as I paid less than $2.00 per card.

Graterol is not yet a PC guy, but he is on my watch list. Muncy has already moved from "watch" to "future" PC guy. That is say I grab them when i see them, throw them in a box. One day I will sort them all out and make a list of what I have. No time soon though. Alzolay is more of a "watch" guy. Lewis is of course in the same boat as Muncy.

.

I can't help but grab up the Topps Holiday relic cards. I have no idea why I do this. I'd much rather have the "variation" cards.

I don't know why the lighter blue background is on the Mazara. I need to check if there parallels. All of my other cards from this year is the darker blue.

Like i said I can't help myself. Hey, at less than two bucks....why not?

Now, to kick off the "REAL" PC guys I'll start with 1 autograph then the rest will be relic cards.

Sticker or not, who wouldn't pay less than two bucks for that card.

Huge deal for a $2 quad relic of Kershaw, and a Spectra materials card of Baez.

Technically, the top two are not relics, but medallion like cards. The Darvish is numbered to 50!

Tomorrow is Wacky Wednesday and will be showing off some of the HUGE collection I bought last month.

June card show

As per my usual, I will start with some Braves.

I wasn't focused on Braves this trip.

But, I did grab some as I flipped through boxes.

I needed all of the Braves you see here tonight.

The Ozuna Unleashed was an Ebay pick up. It was supposed to be the Vector parallel, but it wasn't. I reached out to the seller, and he promptly made it right.

These two vintage beaut's are Jello from 1963. I promise you will see plenty of the Post run. Stay tuned.

D-Day: Never forget

 June 6, 1944

On what is known as D-Day, more than 130,000 troops, under the command of U.S. general Dwight D. Eisenhower, cross the English Channel and land on six beaches along the Normandy coast. Their intent is to drive German forces out of France. The heaviest fighting occurs at Omaha Beach, where perhaps as many as 3,000 American men are killed or wounded.

Wacky Wednesday: 1980 re-runs series 3

Oh sometime last year or maybe 2019 I highlighted the partial series 3 re-run set. I probably only had 1/3 of the set back then. I now have all but TWO stickers. I am missing #141 Heavy Trash bags and #167 Playbug temporarily. Playbug is en-route to me now, and Heavy Trash is sitting in my ComC inventory.

An unopened pack and the checklist.

I do have the complete puzzle with all kinds of variations of stickers too. I am just being lazy and not re-scanning with the missing piece.

The stickers above are from the last time I posted that I don't believe were in the batch I just got. Those are below minus the 2 that I still need.

I know there are stickers that aren't scanned above, but you'll have to wait until I re-start the Wackys in another year or two. By that time I will have placed the stickers, punch outs, ads, plaques, tattoos and whatever else I have in order and in a binder.

I plan on heading to the card show in Jacksonville on Saturday with a goal of vintage set build needs. I know that my buddy Fred/dealer should be bringing me the "unwanted" Bowman and hopefully Diamond Kings. That should be all of the newer stuff at the show.  May not post again before then, we'll see.

On a good note relating to Wacky Packages. Recently (as were todays' stickers) I was able to add a slew of needed stickers to the original runs. I was able to complete a few sets too. The next few Wacky posts will be regarding Series 6, 8 through 12, and 15.
