Saturday Shadow Shots

Well folks, we have made it to the end of the Shadow Shots series of posts (temporary, I promise).

Starting tonight off with just a sweet shadow shot from the batters box, would have been better if the ball was casting a shadow too (on the card).

i definitely see a swimmer, but a penquin must be swimming above him.

The original Camel cigarettes (very old camel) camel.

The Grinch that stole Christmas cameo.

I see a Gator head on a post.

The Armour logo

An armadillo.

An upside down F-16 fighter jet.

A symbol from a Russian flag.

A bird.

A Giraffe.

Couldn't suspend the Shadows without a piece of vintage in here. Could be an elephant with his head being stepped on.

Finally, another great shadow.  A lobster on a stick.

Franken-Friday

I'm tellin ya, this week flew by. Hopefully the card drought ends soon, lol. It's funny how you can get used to getting cards everyday. It's spoiling in away, but I LIKE IT, SLMAO.

On a good note, it is the weekend, and already this week I have put a huge dent thumbing over those 7,500 cards (from a few weeks ago) pulling out "mini" hits for me and others.

Now to tonight's main event, the Franken-pages 31-33, cards numbers 271-297. However, I had a card from last friday in the incorrect slot as you will see in the first scan tonight (top row middle) is card #270 and should have been in the last slot last week. It is just hanging out there is slot #272, or was there. I fixed it.

Page 31: 7/9

Good mix years, and players. I especially like hitting the pages with some vintage on them like the Aaron above.

Page 32: 8/9

Another great mix here, and a couple of vintage as well. Love that bottom row.

Page 33:  7/9

Good mix of players and sets. That Chambliss is perfect for the center card on this page.

Thursday

Sorry I didn't get any cards in yet this week.

WACKY WEDNESDAY

MID WEEK IS HERE AGAIN, YIPPEE, ALL DOWNHILL FROM HERE, RIGHT?   LOL.
EACH WEDNESDAY I POST SOME CARDS THAT ARE INTERESTING IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER, AT LEAST TO ME. SOMETIMES I PICK ON THE MANUFACTURER, SOMETIMES THE BALL PLAYER, SOMETIMES I PRAISE THEM TOO.

Awesome "At the Wall" shot.

Smile for the cameraS (I see two players taking snapshots).

Jumping Junior! And another "At the Wall" shot.

You're up, and OUT! Nice "Play at the Plate" shot.

Can you here me now?

A "Tee" shot.

Not your everyday piece of cardboard, nice hat Ruben! And isn't that an awkward position for Garcia?

Ahhhhhh, a Throwback.

Another "At the Wall" shot. Pretty sure i boxed this one up and sent to reader Mark.

Working on the bats. That Robertson card makes me think Jerry McGuire.

Try sticking that "portable phone" in you pocket.  Don't look up!  Furrppppp! Oops, sorry. hehe.

Great belly flop for sure. Jose, wuz up with the shovel?  Obvious horseplay, got to love the shot at least.

 Look out Mr line umpire.
Talk about front row seating.
Yo Bo!

A throwback, turning two, and bubble gum. Yeah one for me. ( I scanned these Wednesday pics a month or so ago) I know I just showed you the gum Monday also.

 An awesome subset.

Just good cardboard!

Some minor league shots of some of MLBers that had pretty decent careers in the show. Maybe you have heard of one or two of them, lol.

and some more.

Now these last four were scanned for different reasons:  {Multiple "Bat Barrels"},  "Famous Names", okay the BoSoxer was supposed to be with the others above, and lastly no not the "Turtleneck", although Ethan would disagree. Mota looks as if he was standing right under the flag when giving the pledge, or maybe he was "touched" "moved" by a a passing bird.  I hope these were entertaining enough tonight. See ya!

TRADE ME TUESDAY

OKAY FOLKS, I HAVE BEEN WORKING REALLY REALLY HARD UPDATING MY BRAVES WANT/NEEDS/HAVES PAGE ON MY TRADING SITE.  IN SHORT I BUSTED UP MY ORIGINAL BINDER 1. THIS WAS INITIALLY A HARD DECISION, BUT ULTIMATELY A WISE CHOICE. NOT ONLY DID IF FREE UP A TON OF CARDS FOR MY TEAM SETS, BUT ALSO LOTS OF PAGES, AND ALSO ALLOWED ME TO SPLIT UP THE TOPPS FLAGSHIP BINDER INTO TWO (NOW MY BINDERS 1 AND 2, AND MY BROTHERS IS COMPLETE) MUCH MORE MANAGEABLE. THIS MOVE WILL ALSO SAVE A LOT OF MONEY AS I NO LONGER NEED MULTIPLES OF ANY CARDS, OTHER THAN FOR THE FRANKEN-SET WHICH IS 100% COMPRISED OF DOUBLES. I HAVE UPDATED MY SITE ON THE TOPPS FLAGSHIP, DONRUSS, AND FLEER SO FAR. SOME SCORE TOO. STILL NEED TO GET THE UPPER DECK, INSERTS/ODDBALLS, PINNACLE, BOWMAN, AND OTHER TOPPS UPDATED ON THE SITE. I HAD ABOUT 500 CARDS TO RUN THROUGH THE FRANKEN-SET AND WAS ABLE TO HIT 51 CARDS THERE AS WELL, SWEET!!!!!!

PLEASE SCROLL MY WANTS/HAVES TO SEE IF YOU CAN KNOCK OUT SOME OF THOSE THAT ARE ONLY SHORT 1,2,3,4 CARDS. IT WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

LET'S SEE IF WE CAN WORK OUT A TRADE FOR ANY BRAVES TOPPS OPENING DAY: ALL YEARS (AND ANY OTHER CARDS THAT I NEED AND POSTED ABOUT ON TRADE ME TUESDAYS).

Monday Minis

While reading some blog posts this past weekend. Nick (dimebox) mentioned making it official on a mini collection or rather "another" one. "Bubble Gum". I have posted in the past some of my "Gum Shots" and tonight I will be bringing them back. Thanks Nick, this time around we will be judging them for "BEST" bubble!

Some good candidates here for sure.

A few more good ones.

And the winners is..... Billy Wager Ultra second scan.

Now to flashback to the early nineties with some "1st Rounders"

I see a few who had very nice careers.

Yeah, Thomas hands down.

A couple of good careers here.

Mo sort of dominates this page.

The three on the left side of the scan take top honors on this page.

Karsay and White.

Chipper rules this roost.

Floyd.

Sunday Shout OUT

Just one package these last few days. In fact, I received absolutely zero, nada, nothing of any kind on Thursday or Friday. That's right, for the first time in my adult life! No cards, no bills, no junk mail. Zippo.
Saturday brought in another PWE from Ethan. Whew, thought I was gonna blank.

As u can c we be on g.
