I've noticed that the comments have been severely lacking of late, so, I've decided to give it a little boost. What can I say, I like comments. Before we get to such a contest, let us peek at the last cards I'm showing from last week's card show.
Technically (and physically) these aren't the cards I bought. But, the certificates that came with them.
It was much easier to scan these than to remove the heavy Bronze cards from the very nice screw down acetate holder they are in. As is my understanding the 5000 limit was never reached on the Highland Mint cards. The numbers I have are listed as the final production numbers.
Brett: 3560
Yount: 1564.
Brooks: 2043
Clark: 1044
Dave: 1216
Alomar: 928
Schmidt: 1641, the original was 2500 instead of 5000 planned for him.
Barry: 2677
Young: I don't have the final numbers of the football but they too were only planned for 2500 originally.
These ten are keepers for my PCs, less the Bledsoe which is for a buddy.
I picked up 7 extras for give-a-ways, which brings me to the contest. I put together 20 packages thus far, and will add more if necessary (hopefully so). 80% is baseball, 10% football, and 10% Star Wars. How's that for variety? Okay, so it is a little baseball heavy, what can I say that's my thang. THIS IS MY 798th POST SO IN HONOR OF MY UPCOMING 800th. LET'S PLAY BALL!
The contest is similar (more so the same) to that of the Big Fun Game Wes held a couple weeks back.
More of a Chinese Christmas. I have assigned each of the 20 packages a number by random.org. I will also randomize the contestants for the order they will go in. Each prize will be shown as it is picked and the item can be stolen two times then frozen. One enters this contest #1 by being a state side follower (if not already just start), #2 by posting a comment here on THIS post no later than 9 pm EST Wednesday May 17th. Simple enough. I apologize to those not stateside, it's just that there are some Heavy items like the bronze cards above and shipping would be horrendous.
I will go as fast as I can through the picks as such allows. I will also limit the wait time for making a selection to 24 hrs. For those who miss their turn: you will be placed at the end of the line. I hope this one is fun as well, and that another blogger will pick the game up and run with it next month, just hoping that's all I'm saying. KEEPING TRADING FUN.
A blog about the cards I get awesome deals on, cards that I have available to trade, trades and our hobby in general. I collect Braves cards (all of them) and T206 White Borders.

WOW
Part 2 of my card show haul from Saturday a week ago.
Cloth Stickers, I'll take them.
Vintage O-Pee-Chee of Hall of Famer Mr. Tom Seaver. I hope one day to journey to our northern neighbor and empty them out of all I can of these things, love em.
Two more T206 for this quarter. That's five on the year. They ain't pretty but they'll do just fine for my collection.
How about a HOF certified autograph.....
That too works for me.
I even managed to grab a variation Elway I needed. First time in a long time, I picked one up myself.
More another day and it might lead to a contest or more of game like the Big Fun Game Wes held. Yes, I asked if he minded if I do something similar to his and he said go for it. It was fun.

Card Show
Last Saturday (the 6th) I stopped by the Jax. card show on my way back to Valdosta. I had too, you know how it is, although it was nearly 3 hours out of my way to do it, I still did it.
What you see below are nickel stars!
I didn't come away with my usual haul this go around, but I still got plenty. A&G for nickel, yes please. HOF inserts, yes please.
All of which are PC guys. I did also grab nearly the complete 2014 Update set too.
Just great stuff for a five cent piece.
MINI's too!
I'll show off some more tomorrow or the next day, but this is it for nickel stuff.

Shadow Shots
Another week of staring aimlessly into the cardboard depths of our imagination.
Nothing like an old oddball card for a shadow. I see a walking rat!
I see a frog with a swollen left front ?foot? that or he's stepping on a lily pad.
I see a slithering snake coming out from a downed tree.
I see a jockey thrown from his horse.
Ostrich, Camel, or maybe some weird animal from one of the Star Wars films.

A Trade Post
Not long ago OCTer Bob D'Angelo sent me a few for my collection.
Two short prints for Heritage. Bob has posted a message that he had 3 SPs available. It was 6 hours later when I read the message, and figuring they had already been scooped up I figured what the heck, and replied back. These two were still available.
Bob also included 4 hits to the Bowman set build. Knocking that build down to just six more cards.
1, 10, 33, 135, 143, 150. Thanks Bob!

Wacky Wednesday
Hump day humor, I say.
The completed Red puzzle.
The next 9 sticker fronts.
The ad backs, which can be just a humorous as the fronts.
And another set of 9 stickers. This is how we are moving quickly through this Series 7.

Moore from Wes
Okay, maybe that was a bit cheesy for a post title. But, surely you know who's old Braves I'm about to show. First post had some colorful ones, second post had some shiny ones, and this post......
has the non-flagship Topps cards that hit my want lists.
And YES, I still consider and store my OPC cards with my Topps cards. Huh, Upper Deck, sorry.
I like the White Framed center-piece here. Looks good.
I have no earthly idea how many of those M&M cards I need.
Wrapping up with the A & G's.

Scratching an itch
A week or so back, I had a major itch to rip some packs. I placed an order with D&A, with problems delaying shipping to me in GA, I had to wait beyond normal. I went to Wally World, and got a temporary fix.
Grabbed 3 boxes of 2017 Bowman, shame on me. I also grabbed up a few other discounted blasters and packs, those I won't show you. In fact, I'm only showing the best five cards pulled from the Bowman (above and below)
This was very much welcomed into the Braves Collection.
One to mark off the JC cart.
2 more.
And finally one less Braves card to round up. Overall, I wasn't pleased with the boxes.
But hey, I got the Chipper. I still have more posts from the JBF buy, and still need to post cards from this past Saturdays' card show.

Shadow Shots
Went home for a day or two, just got back late yesterday (to Georgia from Florida, that is).
I did manage to stop at a card show yesterday before I came back, but that is for another day. No, I didn't empty the place this go around, just grabbed up some things.
I can't see anything in particular, just a weird shadow.
An angry Jabber Jaw! That or a cross between a shark (or Dolphin) and and dinosaur.
Some might say a kangaroo, but what came to my mind first was a dog begging.
I see a man in a hole/grave.

Cinco de Mayo
What better way to make up for skipping Star Wars Day (post wise), than with another reason to post some baseball cards that you don't normally see.
Of course this one would qualify as a Shadow Shot, and I'm pretty sure I did cover it there too at some point over the last 3+ years. Today (I still haven't added the card stacks) Mr. Warren makes it into the post because he comes from the Birthday Binders.
As does Muhammad. Those are the only 2 sitting in the scan file because of my laziness to get those oddball stacks sorted and scanned, then put into the proper binders. I really don't have time these days with most of my time spent in Georgia. But even if I was home (I am right now for the night), I still wouldn't get to them because there is always something more important to be doing. yes, still talking baseball cards and most of my wondrous and numerous "mini collections" fall by the wayside when it comes to Braves, Set Builds, and my#2 and #3 favorite mini collections like Diamond kings, Rookie Cups. go figure my most favorite MC is Bubble Gum, which is in those stacks to be sorted, shame on me. One day I'll have to take a picture of the stacks.
Have a great weekend.

Wacky Wednesday: ANS 7
AHHHHH! starting the next series. SEVEN. changing the format up just a bit.
I mentioned awhile back that I want to get back to my "old themed" "Wacky Wednesday" which was originally baseball cards.
Posting just 9 Wacky Packages stickers a week, just wasn't cutting it. Or maybe it was Series 6 (an 80 card set with variation backs that got me).
To remedy this, here's a bunch. Now we should fly through Series 7 (and 8 because I don't own many).
Enjoy!
