I need addresses for Zentkovich and KCJays, thank jfmjr1@aol.com
Has anyone made a shipment request in the last couple of weeks? Well, I tried and shipping standard was $26.99. That is HIGHWAY robbery, and is a complete ripoff. My order was for 85 cards it should be MAX at $8.35 postage according to my post office to them. Of course they will eventually say handling, BS! I am done with them. Nobody is worth the extra 18 bucks for handling NOBODY! Especially with 1-2 month wait for them to actually ship. I complained last week and never heard back. I e-mailed them again Thursday night too, and I was not as nice. I filed a BBB complaint not that that will do anything to their A+ rating (BS) or change their "policies". No, all of us would have to file complaints about their untimely deliveries and shipping costs to make a difference, and by all means I encourage you too. I don't know how I am going to get my 85 cards but I am not paying that shipping cost. I certainly will not be buying anymore cards from them. It is a total shame that for about 6 months they were actually good. Remember I was praising them. Then the last order I did was back to their same old stuff. If they can't handle their stuff quicker and more efficiently they need to hire more people to handle the volume they do. UPDATE: On Sunday night I finally got a response to the e-mail I sent them 9 days ago (the 1st one).
Now for more positive aspect of our hobby.
We headed over to Grand slam so he could check out the shop. It is HUGE, and they are remodeling now for doubling the size.
I made some purchases whilst Jeremy dug through the quarter boxes. I found a few in the wooden bin. They are on the pricier side of what they should be, but hey that is why I negotiate which I did with Jeremey watching. Part of negotiating netted Jeremy's stack of 100-150 quarter cards for nothing. Which actually netted me a sweet card for my PC. I'll show that card at the end.
Now here is the card Jeremy showed me first thing when we got in the van. I said ooh I collect him, and then he showed me the back of the card.
Topps Platinum 1/1, whoo hoo. He didn't have to let me have it but he did. Thank you Jeremy this card will sit nicely with Holliday family cards.

Hoyt Wilhelm auto...very cool.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's been ranted about by others the past few months. I don't know what comc is thinking but I'm cashing out my stuff at the end of the month and I don't know if I'll ever be back.
ReplyDeleteGet this...the response (to my first e-mail) said this "we announced to people back in May on our blog" that this was happening.
DeleteYeah they announced shipping changes on the blog but never mentioned that they were changing the flat rate from $5 to $20 and making the per-item charge the default. It's like they knew people would be pissed and instead of owning the problems figured that surprising people would be better.
DeleteI haven't bailed on them yet since I'm curious what they're going to do with their typical black friday shipping deals. If they run a promotion which takes the bulk shipping down to a reasonable amount then I'll stick with building a stack and requesting it every 12 months. If they don't then yeah I'm going to zero out the account and stop using them.
Now that sounds like a plan (providing they do a shipping deal this year).
DeleteSome very nice cards. The 1/1 Holliday is fantastic! My lowest is a 1/5 that I got from you. Thank you Johnny. I have looked at COMC a few times but have never placed an order. Safe to say it will stay that way. Enjoy the time all!
ReplyDeleteGot to like the Randy Johnson Indianapolis card.
ReplyDeleteShipping in general for me regardless of site is getting out of hand. With COMC, I get the added joy of them driving the cards across the border to Burnaby to send them there. .
I drained my COMC funds, requested a shipment, and don't have any plans on using them until they update their shipping policies. It's truly a shame, because they're right up there with eBay in regards the bulk of my online purchases. I guess I'll shift my hobby budget over to Sportlots.
ReplyDeleteTalk about greed. Shame is the perfect word for them.
DeleteI am planning on biting the bullet so to speak and getting my stuff shipped and then never looking at the website ever again also.
ReplyDeleteIt's ridiculous how they are doing everything possible to shoot themselves in the foot.
Ah man, more new-ish Torres to find...
ReplyDeleteWhen COMC first started I was a big fan and a frequent purchaser. I don’t think I’ve bought anything from them in 8-9 years. I haven’t even looked at the site for years. Trading, SportLots and eBay are how I get my cards now. (And the occasional Free Giveaways from generous bloggers.)
ReplyDeleteWow that is robbery for shipping and makes no sense! I just did a Card Barrel order for about 50 cards and was $5. At least you have a lot of good shops and shows in your area!
