2020 Topps Update and a hint to what is coming.

What a horrible way for Topps to end the 2020 season. I have a complete update set. 1-300. Let me tell you it sucks. First and foremost is the fact that for those of us who set-build and place the cards in a binder it ain't working. There are fronts and backs and we can NOT page them properly as there BIG issues. Topps has flipped the cards. I want my cards with the card numbers in the exact same position on every page....This is uniform! But, no can't do that because half of the card fronts will be UPSIDE down. So....if you place the cards in the binder right side up (vertical cards), the numbers are all F'd up on the reverse. You have no idea how pissed off this makes me. This may be a final straw for me. I'll provide more info on my end of the year post next month. That post will be a loaded post. It will include the usual "how'd I do" grade, the ticket draw winner, and my look into 2021.

On a side note.....I will have the October Topps Wacky packages up tomorrow.

  1. Yikes. I haven't paid any attention to Update at all, but that sounds ridiculous. What's the reason?

  2. I’m surprised nobody has really even talked about that. It was one of the first things I noticed when I was sorting the cards. I would flip them over to read the backs and most were the wrong way and others weren’t. They have all but fired the quality control people.

  3. I don't binder these sets, but I would definitely find that annoying.

  4. Yeah, I didn't realize how bad they were when I did my group break but I did see that as I sorted the cards for shipping. Terrible, and a complete lack of care on Topps' part.

  5. I started laughing when I saw the photos. I actually don't mind because it gave me an excuse to flip all the horizontal cards so the name text on the front isn't upside down.

  6. I'm surprised it hasn't been addressed on the Topps social media channels.

  7. This is the fourth, fifth... or maybe even sixth review of Topps Update and they have all been brutal. Not good for Topps. Flipped back images totally sucks. I can already feel my OCD kicking in.
