2 Days late

August 5th was my 5th anniversary of this blog. I had ran to my house in Ocala, FL. on the 5th and didn't prepare a post. So, my bad. I did however decide to grab some cards from MY LOCAL WALMART the one in Ocala while I was there. I guess I still had a little itch. I grabbed 1 blaster of Bowman Platinum, 4 Topps Chrome, and another Big League and Optic. I'm glad I did.

PC guys plus a rookie auto.

Inserts and refractors of PC guys.

The last 4 cards are the ones that come in the parallel pack.

The Diamond Kings.

More PC guys, the Trout is the variation photo.

A couple of inserts, and......

See Bam!!!! Ohtani insert variation autograph!!!!!!!! Sweet, It feels like I haven't bought cards from that store in over  2 years, and I may not have. Again, I'm glad I did.

Here are the Braves. Afterall, this is a Braves blog.

All 3 Freeman's are different.

I will place the traditional blogversary contest here. Simply comment on this post by Midnight on Aug. 9th. (being I was 2 days late, I pass my boo boo on to you) Paying it forward if you will.

Have a great night!

Scratching

Over the last couple of weeks I seen some of the new stuff out there being blogged about. Knowing that I wouldn't be going to Jacksonville yesterday like normal I was starting to get an itch. First let me say that the normal 1st Saturday show was moved the next Saturday for August as the hotel had something else booked. That was okay with me as yesterday was my Uncle's 95th birthday and spending the day with him was a higher priority. I'm still not sure I will go next week either.

So while getting some fresh fruit at Walmart (that sounds weird just saying that), I decided ti hop over to the card aisle and grab some stuff.  I grabbed 3 blasters of Big League, a DK, and a couple of Optic. We've all seen plenty of BL recently so I will spare you. I did get an auto though.

Above you see the Braves I pulled from Optic.

And here are some of the keepers.  Both of those Ohtani's are the variation photo as well as 1 of the Judge's.

More keepers in the parallel variety and some inserts too.

That wraps up the itch I had to scratch other than the 2 autos I pulled. I did scan the best pull from from the DK box.

Blue proof numbered to 25.

Have a great week folks!

Vintage baseball cards in the Sports section.

My Uncle still reads the newspaper every morning (well most of the time). The Valdosta Daily Times, go figure who the parent company might be (lol). Anyways, day before yesterday right there are the from page of the sports section........

BAM! I had to check this out before he got to the sports pages. This paper puts the Dear Abby and the comics in the sports section which is the only reason he reads the paper. Now, go back a little over a month, late June I had taken my Uncle to the Valdosta Historical Society Museum. Lots of baseball stuff there, and I did see that card along with the others they had. I also pointed out that they didn't have any cards of the 3 Drew boys. I told them I would get them some. I still need to do that.

I did wait until he had his reading done before I cut it up.

I'm not sure if I cropped this right.

In case I screwed up the cropping, here is the full page.

If any Tiger fan wants this just chime in.

Have a great night.

1961 Spook Stories

These cards remind me of my childhood. No I wasn't alive when they were produced, but when I was 9/10 years old I used to watch a show on Saturdays called Creature Feature.

The backs are kind of lame, but hey still vintage and they do remind me of my childhood.

Behave out there!

Eating backwards

Well, more of backwards through time.

1979 Hostess. They are not perfect by any means, but it is better to have them to not have them.

1978 Hostess.  Is anyone thinking about a snack right now?

1977 Hostess.  Perhaps munchies.

1976 Hostess. Grabbed a few of these that were needs.

Bringing up the rear is the 1975 Hostess of which I don't have many.

Now go and get a snack.

Wes"fully" Wednesday

Are you ready for another round of Braves cards from Wes, well you're going to see them eventually. But, first with the run of 2018 cards hitting recently I have to speak up throw my 2 cents in on Stadium Club. Yes still a great looking card. But I must say I'm disappointed with Topps, they took what used to be a high end product and ruined it. Photography is still fantastic, card stock and photo quality sucks. Personally I'd rather have Big League as it seems it is on better stock. The flimsy"ness" of this years TSC may be the last time I build the set and yes I have the complete set this year.

Now for the main event.

Police cards. One day I hope to complete the Braves run.

More that I needed.

yeah that Chipper was a big NEED for sure. Now just to get 2 more of them.

A couple more very sweet cards.

Some shiny stuff.

AS much as I would like to discontinue doing actually st builds for Bowman. They went crazy with all of the different  sets BBP BCP DP, BP, BDDP etc...I so hated it. Don't get me wrong I'm still not happy with the way they do things now wither, but at least it is easier to know what card is from what set even if they all come in one pack.

Have a great night.

It has been a really long time since I last posted one of these.
