The Saturday visit

In case you missed it, Saturday before last I changed my plans from attending a card show in Tampa to back to back visits to my LCS: Grand Slam Collectibles. I came home with close to 10K cards. However, there were so many magazine cards (repli-cards) that I only scanned them and they will suffice the rest of the month with the exceptions of the regularly scheduled themes (Wed. & Sat.). I held a giveaway last week with non-baseball magazine cards. I mailed a some of the baseball, but I will be doing another giveaway with the baseball cards this time once I have finished posting the gets. There was also a card or two besides those that are scan worthy, so those two might kick off the giveaway albeit NOT for those two cards, hehe. Also yesterday Sunday, I decided to check out the shop and see what it was like. I also brought home another 3,500 cards. Pulled some goodies from it and need to get them scanned.

Now then, how about some odd ball baseball issues.

You bet your bottom dollar I was stoked to find those Mantles and the Mays. We'll be back tomorrow with more.

Wow does it take a while to get through 13000 cards? One day I guess when I’m retired I could do that!

  4. A. Have fun sifting through those 13k cards.

    B. One of my guilty pleasures is collecting card magazines from the 90's with uncut sheets. I just can't pass them up when I find them for a buck or two. The problem is finding the space to store them.

    1. I love finding those too! Most of them fit in a one pocket page and then can store in a binder otherwise they stack nicely on a bookshelf, lol.

    2. I wish I had more space in my office for more bookshelves. I have two that are 80% filled with binders (player collections, Japan PC, team stuff, etc.). As for the other 20%... I've got my Star Wars displays. I guess I could get rid of them and turn them into more binder space, but I love them too much :D

  5. It's funny - the magazine replicas of Topps' older designs look better than a lot of what Topps tries to put out nowadays!

  6. Wow, you picked up almost as many cards over the weekend as I have in my possession in total.
