Clearing things up a bit

My scan/post file is filling up with some smaller scans (fewer cards). To remedy that I am going to pop a few of them right into this post before starting one of the other larger/multiple posts.

The Braves Japan team set. I bought the entire 2024 Topps Japan edition for pretty cheap off of Ebay with April/May running together it was one of them. I also grabbed some set build needs from this seller who again was priced right (auction) but I won.

I do remember trying to grab a couple more lots the next week, but didn't fair so well.

As you can tell the cards above came from Michael over at Dillard's Dugout. Apparently, I had guessed a giveaway correctly, and Michael threw in some more cards for me. He included a few others but the ones here were all needs. Thank you!

Love me some vintage OpeeChee. These cards came courtesy of an OCT trade buddy and they were even the highlight of the envelope!

No sir.  This was. Hank Aaron Forever stamp was. I noticed immediately from pulling it out of the mailbox. It was a Saturday. I opened the envelope to find the OPC cards and then I went straight to the post office and short story there.

I waited in line (there were only a few people ahead of me). Got up to the counter and the clerk (after I showed him the stamp on the envelope) said he thought they were discontinued. NO WAY! He asked his supervisor who was a 2 stations away (she usually helps me) and she said yes they had them, but they were in the vault. She asked me how many I wanted, I told her and the guy clerk kindly said you know that is going to cost x amount per sheet. I said yes, moved to her window she broke out the calculator and punched in the numbers, she asked If I was sure, I of course said no, double the sheets.  LOL! I bought twenty of the sheets. I am keeping two of them (1 for the Braves collection, one for the Hank Aaron PC, and I gave one to my brother). The rest are for mailing baseball cards, and I just mailed out 2 yesterday.

Have a great night, this cleaned up the smaller files. Now just a week worth of ComC posts plus another section from Ormond. I am going to have to get creative.....

  1. Ha, I had one of those Hank Aaron stamp sheets. I used them all on trade envelopes. It would've been cool to keep it intact, but I don't make enough cash to buy 20 OF THEM!

Those '73 OPC's really came out of nowhere. Nice stuff.

  2. The Tribute cards are really nice. Too bad the Aaron stamps can't count one for each in your quest for #1. Nice find! Have a great night all.

    1. won't even count as one. TCDB doesn't list it (even though they do other real stamps).
