Some people don't like leftovers. I for one do. Most times it is better the second time around. I will start off tonight's leftovers with those Bicycle cards from the deck box I showed last night.
The cards below are from the 2020 Historical Autographs POTUS the First 36 card set. The set is a 110 card set of which I have 87 of them. I did 5 scans of the ones with a President on the front (although 1 of the cards is of the back).
The Wilkie button is from 1940 and is my oldest Presidential campaign buttons.
If you didn't notice I put the Republicans on the left and the Democrats on the right. Who says you can't have fun with politics.
The Shirley Chisholm is from 1972. She was the first black woman elected to Congress, and the first Black woman to run for President (in the 2 major parties).
I'm sure I have other books on Presidents, but I'm not digging them out or even going to look for them. Pretty sure I have several other items that at some point will make it into this collection.
Have a great night and the rest of the week too.
The flyers are so cool. I have the Nixon/Agnew one. CREEP was churning out so much material. Nixon ephemera is like the '88 Donruss of campaign memorabilia. Still very fun to own.
ReplyDeleteOkay, the 77 Stamp set is really cool. I want to say I had one with my postage stamp collection as a kid, they seem really familiar to me.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine was a direct descendent of Mary Todd Lincoln. His Dad resembled Abraham Lincoln so well that he dressed up as him and did presentations all over the United States. He was very good at it including his voice. I went to one of the shows and was very impressed. Have a good one all. Stay warm!
ReplyDeletethat's cool.
DeleteI need to edit my above information. My friend is a descendent of Abraham Lincoln's mother's family, who was Nancy Hanks. His last name is Hanks.
DeleteThat is super cool! Great collection!
ReplyDeleteA. Great collection of US Presidents. Hadn't seen a lot of these before... or if I did... I don't remember them.
ReplyDeleteB. Leftovers are like Republicans and Democrats. Sometimes they're good... sometimes they're bad.
C. Love the 1980 Reagan... and the 1984 Reagan/Bush pins. I've seen some at the flea market over the years, but they're never cheap.
A) I think what I'll be doing going forward, is saving the "new additions" and just posting those each year. Then Update my binders.
DeleteB) Unfair comparison for the leftovers. Very few politicians (after a year or two) are good politicians :). They would be like leftover/warmed up french fires, yuk.
C) One of the price premiums on Reagan is the California connection (the other being he was good for the country), and certainly has nothing to do with Bush (you could "argue that point to negotiate a lower price)". I voted for ONE of them, guess which one LOL. (enlisted and served under him too).
Woodrow Wilson's presidential library is located in the town I work in (Staunton, VA). In all my years here, I've never been. If I ever do, I'll have to remember to keep an eye out for something that might be worth sending your way...
ReplyDeleteThat would be much appreciated.
DeleteThat was some awesome stuff, thanks for sharing! I'd be all in if they did a proper Presidents set.
