A little Holiday spirit and some Free baseball cards

The winner last night was: Derek..... back to back!

Now, to kick off this holiday week with a little Holiday spirit. After all, it has been a good week for me. I am home, although I had to drive back to Valdosta this past weekend just to drip the faucets as it was 20+ degrees Sunday night and might even hit the teens on Christmas morning (might even snow in Ocala). Not that I consider that a good day (I prefer shorts and flip flops on Christmas). My daughter from Ft. Myers is on call this weekend so she drove up and had lunch with me yesterday, exchanged gifts (alas the cards posted tonight). Making progress in my garage and in the house here to bring my cards home. Even got to watch my other daughter make cookies with my grandson (I helped by eating a couple). I got a 2nd estimate to cut, clear, and grind up the small forest growing in my back yard and that one was half the cost of the 1st. (Always get a 2nd estimate or opinion). Just a great week, I could throw out several more blessings but I'm sure that you want to see some baseball cards.

So as a gift from my oldest I got cards (I also got some from my youngest too). As a reward to my self I matched my kids gift, :). The shelves were loaded again at my local just around the corner Walmart. I picked up 8 boxes of this years 2022 Topps Holiday.

Those are the Braves team above. Included is 1 metallic.

There are 19 Ornaments this year.

I got 1 double relic. There are 49 in this years set. Odd I know, but oh well. I obviously got my complete set done. I didn't scan the set and you know why. I will say this, Topps mixed it up some. There are tons of rookies/prospects if you will that weren't in the base or update sets. Heck a few Braves I never heard of until I opened these. I am lacking just 3 cards for a complete 2nd set that I will probably have a "SPECIAL" giveaway for in the coming year (maybe it will be complete by then). It would be complete now but my PC's and other mini collections come first, you understand.

The SP, SSP, and SSSP (sp, rare, super rare) variations is always a chase set for me. Of course I have yet to complete any of them to date. Below you will see the ones I pulled from these 8 boxes (and no I didn't even come close to taking half of the boxes on the shelf). LOADED, love it. Another great thing this week and yesterday was just Monday!

These are the 1 SP's plus the first two below.

The cards after the Red Metallic (1:92 odds) are the SSP (rare).

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!

Masonic Monday: Joe Sewell

The winner Friday night was Derek.

I am going to try to hook up my scanner tomorrow so that I can post some other stuff. Of course that means I have to scan it first, so I might be late posting tomorrow night. We'll see.

Now, onto the show. I probably should mention that players to appear more than once, but they are different write ups.

Maybe I should have held this one off until May, lol. As you can see above there is a part 2 for Joe Sewell, now that doesn't mean that I have it. It could have been thrown away without thinking.  We'll just have to wait and see.

Friday night in Ocala and the almost daily free baseball card giveaway.

 Last night's winner was: Jafronius

As I mentioned yesterday I didn't buy much at the show. The following two scans came from my buddy Fred.

These coins were FREE! Fred also gave me the 22' Archives Braves team, but I already had them. I do still need the SP's. 315, 325, 351, 380. If you got them, I'd like them.

I bought these seven 1997 Topps Screen Plays complete with the tin and all the stuff inside of it. That is all I bought.

Have a great weekend, be safe have fun.

Lets see what I brought back from the December Jax card show. Freebies inside.

 Wednesday's winner was: Jafronius

I'm posting this one early as in (the morning before leaving GA).

I went to the Jax card show this month. I didn't buy much or stay very long as I had to get back to GA to work.

I picked up 52 cards for $5.00. The guy that I LIKE buying the whole box (dime boxes) had these out, and 1 of his boxes wasn't a dime box but a dollar box, he quickly caught it and pulled it but not before I dug some out and he said for me not to worry. I completed the Trout and AAron puzzles, but not sure if I had the base card (the front) in my PC's. I may have even completed the Santo.

I was happy with the five bucks I spent on these.

A very short post post.

This one will be very short as today is extremely busy. Crazy week.

Also help Rod out: read this: Padrographs needs our help

Last night's winner was: Bo, it's been awhile

The top card came from a fellow OCTer and the bottom card I found inside of a box of vintage toys in my uncle's garage. Just the one card though. I had high hopes once I seen it, alas no more.

I am probably stuck here for tonight and leaving in the morning going back home. If you don't see me for a few days you know why.

I am also just realizing that I won't have my cards from here down there for a couple of weeks.  So I maybe going dark for a bit, we'll see. I sold my uncles house today, will have to come back for closing.

Interactive post plus the almost daily free baseball cards.

The winner last night was: TDK

Now, here is where I need everyone to chime in. Most certainly those of you who are autograph getters. You see I bought those cards at the November show and I couldn't remember what I paid for them. Do you remember that post? I separated these cards from that "lot" because.... well you can see for yourselves and let me know. I am sure some maybe real (I hope all of them) but eheheheheheheh.

Now have it (go to work), some really big names on these cards. I did my best researching, and just threw my hands in the air. It cost way too much to have JSA do their thing. I know this because I wanted an Eddie Mathews 8x10 signed photo certified, and they wanted $85.00 for that one alone.

Everyone put in your two cents on those you believe might be real and if we have a general consensus on any I may have JSA check them out.

Masonic Monday: A little baseball history and the FREE cards too.

A new Monday theme: Masonic Monday. I was going to wait until the New Year to start this, but My scan folder is getting "thick" with them. I still have a bunch more to scan (will be home to do that probably). That should last quite a while with just the baseball related ones. After which I will scan up a bunch that fit into other collectible areas for me, and then even more of interesting people from History. I love history it is my nature and thus I should have this them going for all of 2023 and maybe a few into 2024, we'll have to see. I do regret that I threw out thousands of these booklets without even glancing at them. No telling who was on those covers. But spilt milk it is, no tears time to get moving (literally).

Friday night's winner was Nick V.

I hope you folks enjoyed a little baseball history, and maybe even learned a thing or two. This theme obviously was inspired by my late Uncle Fred. Just another way for me to pay tribute to him. If all goes well, the next edition of this theme will be from my home in Florida. Although, there could be a hiccup reagrding me having the ability to post (IE: internet etc.). I won't know that until I am back home permanently, so if you notice a missed post or two that is why.

Tomorrow, will be the post that I need your input.

November show part 3: and yes the free baseball cards are in play.

Last night's winner was: Matt (Diamond Jesters)

I am looking forward to the weekend to have a break at least with the blog. It is midnight Thursday/Friday morning, still working in the garage cleaning out. My back hurts as does my hip, and feet. Anyways here is the next round of PC cards.

These are the black parallels (so are the ones below).

Have a great weekend. I have one more post from the November show, from this same lot of cards. This is the one where I'll need you readers to be interactive. That post should be Tuesday. Monday I am starting a new "Monday theme".

November card show PC and wait well you know the FREE cards

Last night's winner was: John Sharp

I can not remember what I paid for these. I want to say they cost a quarter, but I don't think that is right. I actually got well over 400 cards from this guy, and I got a little discount, I just don't remember what I paid. I believe they were .25 boxes I dug them out of but seems like I may have paid .50 which would be really a bad deal so that can't be right either. Nonetheless, here are a bunch of them.

I'll do 1 more post similar to this one and then a final post where you the reader will need to be interactive.  Think about that for a minute.

I'm sure many of these are dupes, but I won't know for sure for quite some time.

Pulled a bunch of that insert set.

Same goes with this one too.

Alrighty that does it for tonight.
