Under-rated sets

I said a couple of days ago that I'd be posting some odd stuff. Here they are.

Not so much as odd, but the throwback uniforms are great. 1993 Studio Heritage.

A 1994 Score Cal Ripken insert set.

1995 Upper Deck Sonic/Coke partial set. I did get most of them though. I really like these cards.

1996 Leaf MVP Contenders.  Mike Piazza won I believe.

Last of the nickel star PC guys

I was going to make a different post for tonight, but instead I decided to finish this scan file so I can delete it.

These guys are PC guys that I haven't made lists for yet. Just have the bulk sitting in boxes waiting to be sorted and then entered.

I definitely over 500 PC guys by now.  I'm a complete idiot for doing this I know.

A lot of the "off" brands in this scan tonight. i tried to group together the best I can. Which of the off sets is your favorite?

Nice batch of Gold Label. When I grab these up, I don't bother looking at which class, or even if it is a parallel. i just grab them all, and figure the mostly base class 1.

A boatload more of Stadium club.

More nickel stars on cards

Dr.'s (VA), a card show, and sometime with my youngest (pregnant) daughter for Father's Day.

These look good all together like that. Alas, they have since been separated (rather thrown in a box). One day I'll get to them to update PC lists.

I did just do the A's and B's again though.

Bunches of Diamond Kings (the set). I'm not a real big fan of these.

Wacky Wednesday

Hump Day again. So let's look at some interesting cards......at least to me.

How can you not love this card. (not really a question).

There isn't anything about this card that looks right.

I'm heading home tomorrow for a few days. A little respite sort of. VA appointment, Fathers Day, and of course a card show that I haven't been to in a couple of years.


I should be posting though, laptop traveling with.

Prize from Padrographs

Rod from stated blog recently held a contest. I didn't win, I was 1 over with my guess of how many hits he pulled from some blasters he busted. The great thing is that Rod sent all entrants something.

I got to pick a card. I chose the Ohtani Gold card below.

I knew I had the gold Ohtani already, but I wasn't sure if I had two which I need two. One for the PC and one for the Cup binder. Now, I dont have to worry about. Rod also asked for your favorite team so he could send along some of those as well.  I NEEDED  everyone of the cards above! Thanks Rod.

O-pee-chee Braves, and 1985 Leaf

Prayers going on for Big Papi. As most of you know David Ortiz was shot this weekend. had a lot of his innards removed. Here's to a speedy and full recovery big boy.

Lately, I've been on an OPC phase. Grabbing up what I can, and some Leaf too.

Here are some Braves from 1981. I expect about 1,500 OPC cards in ranging from 77-82 this week.
I have steadily been whittling down those OPC want lists. I've also been taking out a few older Leaf sets. Which brings us to another Canadian subject: 1985 Leaf.

The Puckett and Clemens are obviously the key cards. But this set is just great. It is under-rated for sure.

1983 Kellogg's

Not our usual Shadow Shot Saturday, but that is okay. Today, I 'm highlighting an underrated set.

When it comes to Kellogg's, collector's tend to show off the older sets.

But, let us give some credit here. These cards are GREAT!!!!!!! Even Tony the Tiger says so.

Loaded with stars, super stars that is. Lots of HOFer's in here too. 23 of them in fact, plus at least 3 more that should be in such as Pete Rose, Dale Murphy, and Don Baylor.

Top to Bottom, good looking set I have here with only a small amount with cracks which you can see clearly.

The cracked cards were all together in the package they originally came in, so I'm guessing that the original owner had sat something on that side of the package.  All in all this set is gorgeous, and I just wanted to give it some much deserved attention.
