Dealer 3: The PC guys

Again, I didn't scan everything, just some of the cards for the PCs, and I haven't even checked to see if I need them yet. (I usually only update those 4x a year). I have those PCers in stacks and is a mainstay visual anytime someone comes over. You can count on it, the coffee table and Kitchen table NOT for use except for my stacks of cards).

Yeah, I know I already have those Front Row Hanks, but come on .0095 each, who cares there was not certificate with them.

Those Sportflics didn't come out so well.

Dealer 3: A little of Everything

Might as well move right on to the cards. Tonight's show are cards that I "Nicked" from dealer 3 that fit into one of my "mini collections".

The Famous Names binder. I really need to reorganize that binder and do a post, it has been a couple of years.  All 4 of the above cards have a BASEBALL player with the same/similar name.

Any  guess which Binder these go into?

Miller Binder. That's a Reggie Rookie. Even though it is creased still a nice grab for less than a penny, don't ya think?

 I'm sure I have the base of this card, probably have this preview too. Oh well, this binder isn't organized.

That first Dunn Rookie (Gold Leaf) is a cool card.

A few 70s Buccos. Tell me now, how could you not root for Mike Alstott. He made watching the Bucs worthwhile. One tough hombre.

I didn't keep these, but just showing what type of cards that one box that was full of Rookie Football contained. I did take that box to buddy Bob (another post-down the road).

I wasn't sure if I had 3 of these Elways, but sure enough I had all five already.

Some Rookie Cup action, and the ones that I already had (2011s) were needed for the flagship set builds.

DK action.  Turned out that I only needed the Sosa and Bagwell (bottom) for that Binder.

Not quite the same as a DefGav Christmas card, but it works for me.

I had such as crush on Pam Dawber growing up. Girl next door kind a girl with a sense of humor.

A couple of Archives Reserve Football. The front of the Earnhardt braille card (available). I have no idea where the card front view of that vintage Mel Gray card went.

That wraps up the "mini" collections cards, or at least the ones I scanned. Not bad for .0095 cents each! Even though I seriously did not want to spend a dime at this show (I wanted to go to the one in Tampa this weekend- maybe next month), with a week gone by I'm feeling pretty good about "Nicking" my way through this guys (Dealer 3- David) boxes.

Belleview Card Show: Dealer 3 Part 1

Last Saturday I spent the entire day at this card show, when I had only planned on an hour or so to look at one particular guys cards, look mind you. He didn't show and I got suckered into digging through a box. That 1 box led me to another dealer with 10 3000 ct. boxes, and you know I love a challenge.

His boxes were dollar boxes too, but were on sale 4 for $1.00.  Half way through the boxes I had hundreds of cards pulled, and David whom I bought cards from before told me they'd be a dime a piece. I am thinking to myself, oh yeah let's see if I can get him to lower that again.

Basically, I was grabbing everything that was Braves or PC guys without any consideration as to whether or not I needed it. Elbows flying. I wound up with 922 pulls, and I had mentioned to David that I'd have to go through them to weed out dupes and the like before I was done.

What I am showing you today are the Braves that I actually needed. I didn't even have most of them on my want lists.

Just realized I need to add the Carlos Perez(s) to my Names binder. This one doesn't seem to be as animated as the other one. At least not on cardboard.

I had no idea I needed so many of these Bowman's.  Ah, relief in the form of Archives.

More recognized names.

Turns out I grabbed a whole bunch of Andruw that I needed. You see I never got to go back through the cards when I was done to weed out dupes. See that last Chipper (1993 Topps), I wound up with 20 of them. Spoiler alert: I didn't pay a dime for each of those.

That's enough Braves (never enough). I probably grabbed 200 Braves in that 922 card stack, a little more than half were doubles (like I needed those). Some of them were put to good use in the PC binders, like Maddux, Chipper, Smoltz, Glavine, Mathews, Spahn, and Aaron.  I did mention "spoiler alert" a minute ago didn't I? Well, Long story shortened, I got through 8 of 10 boxes, had him tally them up (922), traded him a Mickey Mantle poster, David threw in an 1985 Topps  Clemens RC, and 2 autos. He said give $50.00 with the Poster, then offered up the last 2 boxes for the other 2 posters Joe DiMaggio and Lou Gehrig.  I jumped and wound up with apx 6000 cards for a cash price of $50.00. Oh, but what did I have invested in the posters? I owed $7.00 shipping (I've since paid that) for the posters, and about $100.00 in cards that I had ZERO invested in. I get to mail those out in increments over the course of the year (OCT trader points).


If I've done my arithmetic ($57.00/6000) correctly that comes out to .0095 cents each. LESS than a PENNY each!

So the rest of the cards you will see from this Card Show series cost a penny each too. The last 2 boxes had barely any baseball, mostly football (going to my buddy Bob), and the rest.was Hockey.

The day after President's Day and another RECOUNT in FLORIDA

Well, obviously I won't be showing everything today, for that matter I won't be showing everything period. After all, I wound up coming home with apx. 6,000 cards. Let me say the 2 boxes that were thrown in at the end of me dealing with dealer #3 had hardly any baseball. One box was pretty much all Hockey in top loaders so not really 3000 cards, more like 1500ish. the 2nd box was 95% football, granted 95% of them were Rookies and they will be going to my buddy Bob, for the most part. So, if your a Hockey fan and live in the US (lower 48), please let me know.


I decided to show the cards that I am showing in the order which they were purchased, sort of.

Here are my dealer 1 wax packs I mentioned the other day. I was wrong on the count though.
19 packs of 2010 Topps Attax, 5 packs of 1991 Fleer (got 1 need), and 1 pack of 1993 Fleer series 1 (didn't need any).

The one and only card from the 5 packs of 1991 Fleer that I needed. So, in essence these 5 packs cost me a buck meaning I paid a dollar for that Clemens.

Now on to the Attax:

Don't really get the game, but the packs come with 1 foil card each and 5 base cards. There is a gold foil parallel at the odds of 1:5 packs. First pack netted me 2 Braves.

That Kershaw is definitely a keeper, maybe the Braun too.

Kershaw base and Pedroia foil keepers.

A dupe of Ichiro (use it as a back up).

No keepers.

Arod and Lincecum keepers.

Another Arod (back up) and Mariano foil keeper.

Another Brave. Turns out I needed all 3 of the Braves I got.


Pack 14:

Back up for Lincecum and Pedroia base, and a Birthday Binder foil hit with Beckham.


Pack 15:

No keepers.


Pack 16:

No keepers.


Pack 17:

Verlander keeper.



Pack 18:

Already put that Cutch in your stack BWTP!


Last pack:

No keepers and not a single Gold foil in 19 packs. Huh, odds my arse! LOL.
Well, it was kind of like ripping a box. 25 packs for $5.00 is a cheap way to scratch an itch for sure. I will say that it doesn't cure it! One thing I did notice about the Attax was the correlation wasn't bad, and although it looks like there are 3 Prince Fielder cards above, one of them has different numbers in the balls.  I had fun.
