Last month has come and gone, but I do have pictures. After contemplating not going.... again to the Tamps show I went. Bound and determined I wasn't going to get sick again. I didn't, yeah.... I did walk around twice and seen all that I needed to see and was about to hit the door when Justin finally showed up. He only had his case with just a few cards inside. He apparently was there for the "buying" opportunities. I get it, he does that. We chit chatted for a bit, and I was heading out the door and he offered to grab some boxes from his vehicle. They were mainly 3 row dollar boxes. Knowing for me it has to be 3 for a buck, then I'll grab quantity. He only put out for the public a couple of boxes of mixed stuff after I quickly browsed them. He let me go through two 5 row boxes that hadn't been sorted or priced. Again mixed with all sports, but I found a couple of hundred baseball cards to bring home.
No, I didn't scan them all or even close. But I do have 7 scans for you tonight.
I even scooped an auto and a couple of relics although the Gonzalez, is not my PC Luis, so that one just goes into the random relic binder.
So I made the trip worthy of the drive, and best of all I didn't get sick. I followed this show up with a trip over to Ormond the next week and brought home a weeks' worth of posts.
Have a great night!
Glad to hear you didn't get sick. I figured the other two you were giving away would be gone for sure. Thanks for the Bando coming my way. The Carew bat relic is fairly plain, but it is a Carew! Go Twins. Have a great night all.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I saw that giveaway. I'll take a '65 checklist.
ReplyDeleteput it in your current stack
DeleteThe Rosario Gold is nice!!
ReplyDeleteThat Carew relic is really nice.
ReplyDeleteThe Bonds jersey and Carew bat cards are sweet!
ReplyDeleteI was shocked when I saw Jason Heyward on the Padres recently. Had no idea he was still playing!
ReplyDeleteGreat pickups as always!
ReplyDeleteI really disliked those Danbury Mint gold cards at first. Hard to store. Hard to look at/read. Somehow they are growing on me though. I picked up an Alomar and a Timlin over the years
ReplyDeleteDerek, my Canadian man. Where have you been? As for the cards, just cut them out of the plastics....store the same as any other card
DeleteYou'd almost think I got lost at Disney somewhere! Truth is much more boring, just falling way behind in my reading. I try and read the blogs chronologically but "cheat" every now and then and jump to a recent post.
DeleteThe thought of freeing the card from the plastic never crossed my mind for whatever reason. The seed has been planted..maybe I'll do it if it annoys me enough!
