It is Friday, home alone thus far as the youngins went to Aquatica in Orlando and won't be back til late. I finished up my Sammy Sosa PC update today and realized an oddity.
He has a total of 30,356 cards listed in TCDB through 2026. The total for 2025 alone is 16,754 then 2026 has 969 so far. That just goes to show just how ridiculous the card makers have gotten.
Now for the quickie. I bought a complete "paper" set of the 2026 Bowman base for under $20.00 delivered.
I only scanned the first 9 cards. It isn't Bowman's worst for sure, but being that I am not the first to show off any new Bowmans' these will do. The design is okay and is one of their better ones of the last decade (last year wasn't too bad either).
Tomorrow is D-Day.
Have a great weekend!

Wow not a bad design at all.
ReplyDelete16,000+ cards of one guy in one year - especially when he's been retired for almost 20 years - might literally be insane
Those card numbers are unreal! Try to chase down a complete collection of the last two years. Enjoy the hobby all and the weekend!
ReplyDeleteSeems like a good deal especially with everyone chasing The white Sox rookie
ReplyDeleteMore than 1/2 of Sosa's trading cards were produced in 2025? That's crazy.
ReplyDeleteSeconding Fuji, half his cards came last year? Also, I don't know why the base set is called paper and not, well, base.
ReplyDeleteYeah, stupid idea someone had for sure.
