My 2nd trip to the East Coast last month was similar to the visit the week prior (without) the mini's. So Let's see what I came back with starting with the new to me Braves.
I picked up some cards from the dime boxes which should be posted Thursday night. I did some digging through the dollar boxes (I'll post those Friday) and I also got some free stuff that a customer brought in, that the shop didn't want and the guy threw in the garbage and the shop let me pick through them. With that said he did have some stuff the shop did buy from him....just not these.
These are cards that would be thrown into the dime boxes, but the store was going to pay for them. Hey free autos. There were a few other cards that I got too, but they didn't fit into a post.
There you have the first of three posts from that second trip to Ormond.
IN OTHER NEWS: I have decided to go with 75' Carter for week three of the giveaways. I came up with the 4th week prize.
2017 Topps Now Offseason Ohtani OS-80. Now that is a Christmas present.
Merry Christmas everybody!
Wow - nice free pickups! I too would have no problems digging into garbage for some cards.
ReplyDeleteAutographs are fun, but Ted Saskin doesn't have much of one.
ReplyDeleteWho would turn down free cards? If they were heading to the garbage or recycling, I would take them and decide what to do with all of them. Nice autograph cards and the Mikita would be nice for Blackhawks fans. Merry Christmas and a happy Tuesday. The next couple of days are heading for below zero temps here in Central Minnesota.
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, there were hundreds that went in the trash can. I just pulled those out. Keep warm.
DeleteSounds like a good thing to me. I'm warm inside even though it's a minus 5 outside right now!
DeleteI love seeing all these autographs of random guys. The Charlie Hough is very cool.
ReplyDeleteNice Elam auto! My cousin from Hawaii was just in town and his name was brought up over dinner. That Niedermayer auto is cool too. I opened up a bunch of 1995/96 Be A Player packs that year... in search of a Gretzky auto. Never pulled it... but I did pull a Patrick Roy auto.
ReplyDeleteThose are some neat autos. Denny Walling lives in my hometown, but I have yet to meet him.
ReplyDeleteI actually need that Mccardell for my 1995 pro line autograph set chase!!!
ReplyDeletewhen I stumble across where I put them, I pull that one out for you.
DeleteThanks buddy! I was also a fan of McCardells as well!
DeleteSide note, the prize card arrived today. Post coming up next week!
Just found them 2 minutes ago. I'll get it out tomorrow.
DeleteThanks buddy!
DeleteI'd pick through that garbage too! Hey you have a certificate of authenticity that you can associate with any card that you want!
