Hurricane Helene is outta here. Tampa Justin finale

Hurricane Helene is outta here, but is still wreaking havoc up the coast. I had 75 mph winds. Lost 1 (one) shingle. My brother lost about 10 ft of fence as did the elderly lady next door to me. A bunch of people had sever damage and lost power. I fixed the fence for the neighbor and my brother this morning. Couldn't find my missing shingle though. Valdosta, GA got tore up. Apparently tornadoes spun up there too. I heard the entire city was without power. Atlanta is catching the high winds this afternoon as I write this post.

Now let's finish up the Tampa cards.

That wraps up Tampa. I want to thank all of you for your well wishes and prayers.

Enjoy the weekend!

  1. Glad you and your brother are safe. I was texting back and forth with my buddy in Atlanta... and he said there was a lot of rain and wind, but no damage to his place. Can't speak for the rest of the city though.

  2. Glad to hear you avoided most of the damage. Always happy to be able to pray for people. Nice cards as well. Have a great weekend.

  3. Good to hear you got out mostly unscathed. So sad seeing some of the images of the flooding.

  4. When you live near water it is a RISK. I live in North Central Florida kind of center of the state so flooding not a real big concern for me. We do have lots of lakes some pretty big ones too, but far enough from me to not matter. My house is up from the down hill flow next door to me, so that helps too. But yes, most people even in smaller storms die from the flooding and not the wind. I'm still surprised that more people aren't aware of that. This was and still is wreaking havoc on people I pray for the best as I always do.

    1. Potential flooding (from any source) is one of the reasons I moved to where I did (almost 2,000 ft above sea level).

  5. Glad you're safe. The places that got hammered look scary as hell.

  6. We got hit hard here in Indianapolis on Friday afternoon and evening. Not 75 mph but some 60s and lots of tree limbs to pick up yesterday!
