I went to the Jax. card show this past Saturday. I only stayed a few hours and spent about a third of what I would normally spend. As per usual, I stopped at Fred's tables first and spent $60.00.
Here is what I got.
Okay I'll throw in Mike Trout including the 2013 and 2014 above.
Now you know I had to grab up some Braves too. A mini collection with the No Hitter card plus Ronnie's brother who is doing pretty good right now (so is the youngest brother).
So, did I get my monies worth? Wait.......
I also got a 2022 Topps Series 2 set.
How did I do?
I’ve been searching eBay to try to find a complete set or a combination of the 2 that would be under the price of a boxed one. So far the cheapest Series 2 set I’ve found was 30 bucks. I think with the Franco’s, Trouts, Cruz and set alone, you might have hit your 60 dollar total. Glad you could find some good stuff.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of Cruz. I guess that says how much I know about prospecting.
ReplyDeleteI think $60 is about right, especially with the set. Nice mix of star players and prospects.
ReplyDeleteHadn't heard of Cruz until last night when the Yankees were playing the Pirates. He's only hitting .193 and wasn't the reason the Yankees lost. I guess we'll see about him.
ReplyDeletePro Set baseball cards - never saw those before. Cool!
I've heard of Cruz! He used to be a Dodger! (Have a couple of his early Bowman cards) ... I have no idea how to price rookies and young stars, so no idea if this was a good deal. I guess? I probably wouldn't pay 60 bucks for these, but I don't collect that stuff.
ReplyDeleteSeems like it to me!
ReplyDeleteI don't collect any of these guys, so it wouldn't have been worth it to me, but you seem happy with the purchase; so I'd say that you did alright.
