Wacky Wednesday and an Uncle Update

First let me say thank you to all the well wishes.... Thank you. My uncle is doing well, his only symptom was a fever and it is gone, they gave him a dose of Rendesvir and bam gone. They are going to keep him for 5 days to run the entire 5 day run of the medicine (and steroids, and vitamins), after all he will be 99 years old a a few months. I hate it that I can't be with him 24/7. Nights are rough for him, and they surely won't understand his scrambled language when he is say having a bad night (cognitively). Go figure the "industry" that is helping is the very one that brought the virus to us (the home health aides) one is doing better and the other is in denial. Hopefully everyone will be better by Monday. I still did not go get tested, I am taking the high road (conserving a test for someone else). I am assuming I have Covid and thus I will not be traveling back home this weekend. I very much wanted to hit the card show back home. It is what it is, I shall get another chance at that one in 3 months. As for my health, I am exhausted otherwise okay.

Now, let's get started on those 1959 Wacky Plaks!

Only showing half of the ones that I own this week.

I'll do the other half next week.

This original set has 88 post cards. I do not have them all (about 2/3).

I probably should have scanned the 1982 reprint Scanlens Australian set (they only have 84 of the cards in that set, but it is complete).

Okay folks have a great night.

  1. I like the one with "All people are created equal... only some are more equal than others." Sounds like Animal Farm.

    Hope your Uncle does well.

  4. Wow, I missed what you were going through. COVID seems to find everyone no matter how hard you try. Your uncle seems like a tough guy tho. Hope you find some rest.

  5. For what it's worth, every home is eligible for 4 free at-home Covid tests: https://www.covidtests.gov. Obviously a moot point this go around but could help down the road. Glad he's doing well.

  6. Glad he's doing better. Stay well!

Those plaks are great. My mother-in-law often says "Rich or poor, it's good to have money."

  7. Sounds like this will be just another thing that he'll be able to add to his life-card. At 98, I'm guessing he's got quite a few interesting things already written down on that card :)
