Some Warner Robins cards

I have a couple of posts to show from my trip to middle Ga. Middle Georgia Sportscards and Collectibles in Warner Robins, GA to be exact. The store had been previously in an article in Beckett (years ago). The online view of the store made me assume it was a Huge store. But, we know better than to assume things, right?  Dang near didn't find the store. It was a very small shop tucked away in the back of a wierdly designed strip mall like place. Wait.....all of this doesn't mean that I wasn't happy with the trip. I was. I explained to Charlie the owner that I drove up from Valdosta to check his place out. Talked about some vendors we both knew from the Jacksonville, FL monthly show. Because my collection was all over the place we couldn't hone in on anything specific and that I would be looking at everything he had and that I would be keeping he and his shop company the entire day. Now had I went to Jax for a show, I'd be tallying my purchases up per dealer to figure out what I "really" paid for the cards bought from him/her. Now here I was at 1 shop, so the overall total would be broken down in a similar fashion. I did however, insist on "checking out" every 1 1/2 hours while I was there. More on that in a minute. I picked up cards from vintage (the first to be seen tonight) to minor league team sets and everything in between, sort of.

With the run of 70's Topps style heritage cards this year, I figure we've seen enough of the front of cards.

After all, it's those beautiful high numbers I really want to show.

Knocked 19 high numbers off of my set build needs for the set.  I did pick up a handful of other vintage needs, but what was FUN, was grabbing these......

Charlie had these in penny sleeves mixed in with the 74' Topps cards he had at the shop. They had a sticker price of $4.00 a pair. I didn't care whether I needed them or not, into my stack they went. Charlie only had a couple of shoeboxes of vintage at the store and being in the last grouping of cards I purchased, he said I could e-mail him either my want lists (he has no clue of how large it is) or what I'd be looking to see on my next trip. He does have some 50's & 60's to bring up to the shop for my that trip which I hope to make soon.


I grabbed a few odd balls.

Like the Orange parallel Hygrade, and a Blue Conlon colorized Promo card.

Again, not caring whether I needed them or not. You see......SPOILER ALERT.......
When all is said and done, I brought back a bit more than 3200 cards, and paid a grand total of $325.00. Yeah, that a dime a piece! A ten cent Ty Cobb toughie! Yeah, I had a great time with Charlie.

Now let's knock out the minor league cards tonight too (they won't need much commentary).

This next set is typical Of what I think of when you say minor league cards.

And even more so is the following set.

Not that they are bad looking cards, just bland to me and is why I ignored all of these years (until 2013).

The next few sets are quite different though.

Mixing in a little more color with action shots make these sets more appealing to me. 

That set, the card backs kind of resembles a Topps card back doesn't it? Maybe 2012.

Next set.

A little smaller, because this one wasn't a complete set, pulled them as singles.

Same with these.

Okay that wraps up about 99% of the minor league cards from this trip. There are a few more cards scattered in the other scans from the Warner Robins.
