No pics tonight guys, just going to blog about one of MY largest "mini" collections. The Franken-Set (posted regularly each Friday ---- we're on page 37). I have had a major case of baseball card itch lately. To go along with the Wacky Blaster from Wal-mart, I hit up another Wal-mart which you will read about come Tuesday (6 more blasters). AS though that were not enough, I went and seen my flea-market vendor buddy Saturday and picked up oh apx 30,000 cards too. Mainly junk and no I won't be posting too much of those unless I find something great, but I did get some super nice odd-balls. Hey it gave me something to do.
Anyways, looking at the 1/3 of that huge haul spread out all over the place made me say to myself "you need to do something else right now. So I updated my Franken-set (the first one, I will be starting a second one soon). I added quite a bit to it lately. So I did a run down that I will be re-capping here tonight.
Breakdown: 100% Braves duplicate cards. Basically, when I get a dupe I sit it on a stack, and when that stack gets so high I check it against the Franken-set, if the slot is open then it gets filled NOT to be replaced, done. The second Franken-Set will not be that way. I have over 3500 doubles so I will still be using the only Braves dupes, but I will be hand picking the cards from the choices that I have, trying really hard not to put a card in the same slot as Franky 1. I believe that set will be awesome! Back to the breakdown.
Page totals: 100
Completed pages: 23 (9/9)
Not to be discouraged most pages lack just one or two cards other than a handful towards the end, you understand that , I think..... high numbers (high 700s and 800s) the last ten pages are really pitiful (just 3 cards).
Here are the numbers that I am missing as of today.
51, 54, 59, 74, 89, 92, 97, 108, 118, 127, 135, 162, 181, 182, 184, 18 211, 8, 190, 197
200, 204, 208, 211, 216, 220, 230, 235, 238, 277, 281, 291

710, 714, 717, 719-721, 724, 726, 727, 729, 730, 733, 737, 738, 740, 741, 743, 746, 748, 749, 756-758, 760-768, 773-775, 780, 781, 783, 785-790, 793, 794, 796, 798, 799
I only have five cards in the 800s: 816, 824, 860, 861, 880.
By the time I get through the 30K cards I got this past weekend I hope to have another 50+ knocked out. (At least that is, 200 would be terrific, but unrealistic).
Franky 1 only has 7 blank pages, empty, zero, nada, zilch! Not too bad.
4 pages have just 1 card in them. Three with just 3 cards, and 3 with 4 cards. There are 11 (ELEVEN) pages with 5 cards. Nine pages have 6 cards, 21 pages with 7 cards, and 17 pages are shy just one card.
Well, that wraps up the Franken-breakdown.
