More goodies for me

 Rolling with some more cards from SportLots, but before I do I wanted to say that I got my first dose of vaccine yesterday. I got it here in GA which is supposedly last as far as distribution goes. I signed my uncle up through the health dept here a month ago (still haven't heard from them yet) and yesterday they shut it down period. I am glad I don't trust anyone. 2 Weeks ago I signed my Uncle and myself up at the hospital, and was scheduled for yesterday immediately. Got there early, no waiting was done including the 15 minute watch time before the actual appointment was to be. Sore arm that's it. Now I already know that it is the 2nd dose that typically makes you feel like shit for a day, but I'm okay with that. Feel bad for a matter of hours or so much worse, yeah, I'll take that.

Okay, on to some baseball cards, that is after all why we do this thing. I did say goodies for me, so that means Braves.

Keep in mind that I am a cheapskate, so I really only try to pick out the .18 cards, but do frquently grab .25 and .50 cards too.

I've even been know to pay a buck even two on occasion. (just not often).

I do have an issue that I am just figuring out, with the Bowman Mega box cards, with the Mojo ish appearance. I will proably have to go through my Braves Bowman cards one day and weed out the errors I've made in recent years. But, I'll have to be home on a permanent basis for that.

Here is a bitch for you (lol). Bowman calls that green card Camo, the green parallel that they have are numbered to 99. ??????? That is not camo, I've worn enough of it in my day, (back when camo's were green, now they are brown/beige). 

All of these came from 1 seller.  Still have a couple of dozen or more seller's to get through. Some are in hand already and 20 enroute.

The Last Wacky Wednesday (for Wacky Packages).

 This is the last of the 2020 Topps Wacky packages. Weeks 3 & 4 for December. On a side note, Topps is back at for 2021, although for this year they are doing "monthly sets" 20 cards plus 2/3 of the chase cards ($60.00). I won't be playing their game. My run of Wacky Packages is officially ended with 2020.

With that said, here they are.

These three fantastic cards came via Padrographs. Rod had reached out after I had commented, and I totally blew a blank. In the end I remembered and he sent them. The green Braves card was an actual team set need too.  Thanks Rod.

I picked up this Hawaii sample from 2001 off of Sportlots for a $1.49. Sweet. The only diference betwee the "sample promo" and the actual "promo" is the word Hawaii on the front.

And a nice shiny icy Acuna.

Next

 Moving right into the cards from the next seller I got in this week. 

I really like these A & G Chrome cards. Now I have never really got past the 2nd release of A & G and the regular card design, it was old that fast for me. 

Aren't these Braves just beautiful?

On top there are two 2020 Topps mini's, which reminds me of just how pissed off I am at Topps.

They were selling team sets, mini's. I ordered two sets. Regular team sets came in. I notified them, no reply beyond the auto reply. I've since reached out 4 more times (I'll do it again today). I have yet to to get a reply, answer, or refund. Let's just say my patience if 100% gone here.. I want my friggin money or the mini's NOW!   One more thing to to add to the list of things I hate about TOPPS.

Now, The last 3 cards are Super 70's. I grabbed Dusty not knowing he wouldn't be a Braves card. I bought them from this same seller on SportLots (SCastrol). I took a chance at less than a buck. 

Good thing he is a PC guy.

 Yesterday I showed the Braves needs I picked up from Sangbums on Sportlots. Today, I'll be showing the highlights (only highlights) but in quantity I also grabbed.

Here you find those cheap cheap UK cards. Also showing is a pair of 2020 Donruss Orange parallel cards. I like those. 

I'm not sure what this scan is supposed to be as I threw away my notes. I assure you these are not standard base cards. But, I am at a loss. so I may be totally wrong. I know that that I picked up about a hundred cards from Sangbums. I usually only grab odd stuff, as I bought two complete sets including update so.......

I snagged a couple dozen of these .18 Contenders, including the Purple parallels. I did pay a quarter for a few of the big names. 

I'll move on to another sellers' goodies for tomorrow. I can't wait.. So excited.

 Let's do some more Braves I picked up from a SportLots seller (Sangbums).

Here we have a 2017 Topps variation that allows me to close out that team set. Next to it is a 2018 Topps Holiday Sparkle that allows me to close that set out, technically I got the last needed base card from the set on the same day  from another seller that let's me close that set out too. Then you have a pair of minis from 2018 Topps, and 3 needed AG mini's.

Let's start with two on the bottom.  These are from Topps 582 Montgomery as you can see, they are listed as members vote?????? I don't get it. Above those you have a 2019 Topps mini, and on the very top a 2020 AG Chrome mini Eddie Mathews. You will see a lot from that set in the coming days, but of the base version. I think tomorrow I will show off the cheap stuff (albeit high-end) I grabbed from Sangbums.

The good stuff

 Yesterday's post had a few high end Braves cards in the mix. Well, I couldn't just pass up on my PC guys from those sets.

2020 Topps Finest. This stuff was originally $250.00 a hobby box.

I would never pay that kind of a price for a box of baseball cards. Heck I wouldn't pay $100.00.

Pretty sure the most I have ever paid for a factory sealed box of baseball cards is $79.99, and I did that buy mistake with some Bowman Platinum two years ago. I thought they were $45.00. Which even that price makes me squeamish. I don't like paying that much either. I've done that a few times total, again for Bowman Platinum. Another truly wasted product. But hey, I do know a good deal when I see one. Those finest PC additions cost me just .18 each, except for Bellinger, Yelich, Alzolay, and Torres. They cost me a whole quarter each.

I also nabbed some 2018 Topps Tribute from the same SportLots seller (rattay13).

Originally this stuff and still is I believe in the neighborhood of $400.00 for a Hobby box.

I paid .25 for three of these and .50 for the other 6 cards.  Good deals and good stuff.

Disappointment

 Recently there have been a few posts relating to the Topps/Twitter Super 70's cards. For anyone that has followed this blog over the last 7 1/2 years knows that I don't Tweet or any other "social media" outside of this blog and e-mail if you can put those in the category (I don't). I can't stand texting either for that matter, but let's get to baseball cards. I looked at the cards mention above and I am awaiting some from Sportlots. I don't have a problem with them, at least what I have seen. It will do. 

I think if Topps wants to partner with someone, they should look back at Kellogg's (even Post), pretty sure that would make everyone hopeful. Of course that would depend on them sticking to the original designs, which might extinguish the hope knowing they wouldn't dare stick to the originals. I digress, my disappointment with Topps has been accruing over the years with so damn many parallels and chase cards. Still yet, even that is NOT my current disappointment. No......I recently placed an order on the Topps website. I bought two different items. Braves "mini" set, which came in and was not "mini". I already have notified them twice and still haven't heard back. SUCKS! The other item came in yesterday. What I thought was the complete set of Attax cards. Yeah, my bad, not even close to a complete set. Let me tell you they suck and I will show you "the keepers" here today. 

I have never really liked the Attax designs over the years, but I am a team collector first and foremost so I needed the Braves. Each box comes with 2 "superstars" inserts I guess. Red and blue differentiate the National and American leagues. Not very impressive. There are a total of 5 Braves on the checklist. I got one, the Soroka.  Disappointment for sure.

Each box contains the game piece cards. You get a bunch of singles, a few doubles, 1 tripe, and 4 home run cards. 

Blah blah blah.

Highlights and some info

 A few more highlights of various packages from Sportlots .

Two more Braves team needs wiping out the 1960 Topps. (came from two different sellers).

Picked up this pair from a seller (along with a bunch of set build needs). Got to maximize that shipping.

This morning I was reading blogs and ran across the one on 2020 Topps UK cards. I didn't know they existed, so I without thought jumped right over to Ebay and bought them up (Braves). I bought up two sets. BIG mistake. Way overpaid.

The cards are available on Sportlots for cheap! I picked up the Vogelmonster and DeJong for a couple of you. Go get them.

Incoming from a couple of Bloggers

 I've been getting a lot of mail from Sportlots sellers lately. Yesterday though mixed in th ebatch was a couple from bloggers.

Last week Mark (San Jose Fuji) posted about busting some 1993 Upper Deck All-time Heroes.

It mentioned he had a bunch of dupes of these triple folders. My records showed that I didn't have any Braves and that I needed 1, 49, 150. Well, I was wrong..... What I needed was 1, 149, 150 and 151 which I didn't have on my list (see Hank is pictured in the middle of it so it counts.)  The 49 I said I needed, I didn't, but Mark sent it anyways. A Red Sox guy won't look good in my Braves, but Mr. Ferrell will fit nicely into my PC.

Mark sent a slew of other Braves especially some well loved vintage cards, and some Pacific Legends. The card above I needed and didn't know it either.  Thanks Mark!

Now yesterday Nick (dimebox) posted his goodies from picking Julie's pockets so I won't go through all of that again today.

I will however show this one off that eluded me since last year. It was certainly the highlight of the picked pockets. Made me really happy to check that off. Thanks Julie!
