Remember Dec. 7th.

Sorry for being late (it is Saturday). I had to get this annual post out tonight. I checked at looks like last year it fell on the weekend and I don't remember posting it then. Not missing this year. Apologize for not reorganizing all of the cards to be one way as well as not scanning the backs. this is a 50 card set.

Funny side note. Dorie Miller was my third wife's name (nickname actually, real name Adorinda).

Crazy day around the world today for sure.

  3. This is one of those days of the year that is permanently highlighted in my brain. My parents were kids living on Oahu when the Japanese attacked. My mom's elementary school got hit by a stray bomb... and my dad saw the Japanese planes flying. A very crazy day in the history of our country.

  6. I'm distantly related to Franklin Van Valkenburg, Captain of the U.S. Arizona that sank that day. Although not directly named, he's got a card: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/98857/cid/6897440/1942-War-Gum-(R164)-4-Dying-Captain-Carries-On

    1. Pretty cool, the relation and the card not the loss of life.
