A special post. We are at WAR.

 Not the violent kind. No dead bodies here. I mentioned earlier this week about my 3 trips over to Ormond to get the 2024 Topps Holiday set, cards from the dime box. Well, they never made it in there over those three weeks. I'm sure there in there now though. However, last Friday which was Black Friday I ordered 2 boxes direct from Fanatics. I got them Wednesday. Ripped them yesterday. Now, I also bought a complete set on Ebay plus it comes with 25 of the 50 variations (paid $33.00 plus 8.50 shipping). I spent more on gas, so that is certainly a win. Those haven't arrived yet. No biggie, so tonight we are going to have a box war. Not the whole boxes. Just 2 scans of what I deemed the best base cards from each box plus the inserts from each box. 

First I should probably announce the interactive winner for this week:

Box 1:

Each box had an oversize ornament (there are 20 different ones), and each box had 1 relic card.

Obviously, Braves are going to be in my best card choices. 

Now for the inserts.

Each box had 3 of the variations (top row), 5 silver metallic/glitter, and 1 blue glitter.

Box 2:

I pulled the same 4 Braves. The Braves have 7 in the base set. Go figure.

What a Santa Archives case hit. you bet that makes it into the best cards.

Now the inserts.

There you have the two boxes (sort of). You decide which box was better. The total overall breakdown, I got exactly half of the base set 100 different cards. There are 100 cards in each box. Yeah 50% sums up Topps pretty well. However I must say, that Topps knocked it out of the ballpark with this year's Holiday set. It is by far my favorite of the year of all sets including Stadium Club which was good too. I only have one gripe besides the collation and that is the relic design, it sucks to me, but everything else is great. Topps only did the 50 SP variations, no rare or super rare. Fantastic. They added "weird hats" and "reindeer antlers" to the mix. The base cards blue border looks amazing. I really really like this set. The fact that putting together the SP variation set is NOT impossible (I suspect I'll have it done by years end fingers crossed). I also hope to get the 20 large ornaments too. I believe I'll get the relics completed, just not by years end. This will be the first Holiday set that I complete the Ornaments, Variations, Relics, and the set too. Now I do have all of the other years of the sets, but not completed any of the variations, relics, or ornaments on any of those.
