Break out the popcorn, sunflowers, peanuts, green grass, and bubblegum too for this interactive post!

The title is catchy huh? Right up front it has nothing to do with my actual post. Nope, just a little bit of me making fun of some of the new parallels Topps released in this year's Bowman Chrome Draft. The Braves have 368 cards in that set plus the 84 for the "paper" set.

Okay now for the real post. Let's get this weeks giveaway going. The card is the 1984 Donruss Rated Rookie Joe Carter card. (I have yet to choose the card for next week, but definitely will and save the 1975 Topps Gary Carter rookie for the last week.

Eligible persons:

Ginko, Jeremy, RJ, TDK, Jeff B, Nick V, SCC, Diamond Jesters, Tom T, Bo, Fuji, and Mike D. Good Luck!

What do you need to do for a chance at this great card?

Comment here on this post no later than midnight (EST) this Wednesday stating that you wished 3 (three) non related persons a Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday if you prefer that phrase.

Yep, that is it and it is certainly on the honor system.

Now let's get to that wonderful Ebay purchase.

It had a buy it now price and was pretty cheap. 100% all Braves, 100% all 2024 Stadium Club. There were 55 different cards in the lot. I believe 17 cards were base cards, but it did have the Hank Aaron, the last base card I needed for the team set. I didn't scan Mr. Aaron, but I did scan the rest of the goodies.

It took me a day to really figure out that these 7 were the Black foil. Other than the backgrounds are super darker than the base cards, the only other difference was the Stadium Clun logo looks gold when tilted.

Red foil. I also must say that besides the complete team set base cards, there were no dupes in the lot and in my collection. Amazing! I still need 6 of the Red's.

This one threw me off to begin with too. Sure it looks like Sepia, but the logo and players first name is green foil. They are the Sepia. You see the 14 above, so I need three more (4, 39, 87).

Four regular chrome parallels, and a green one too!

Five more inserts to close out this post. Now if you want to add some icing to the cake, the BIN was $20.00 plus $4.95 shipping. I think it was worth it even though I know at some point the dime boxes in Ormond will one day soon be full of most of these....most.

Have a great night! Don't forget to tell 3 people Merry Christmas (it is Jesus's birthday soon) or Happy Holidays.

  1. Now that I am signed back in, I can post a comment. Thank you for including me in the list of included people. Great looking cards you found. Due to connections on the blogs I read and through trading I have been able to wish Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to many people. Christmas is one of the Happy Holidays, so if you say both you have it all covered. Jesus is looking for us to represent him and point everyone to him. I think sometimes it becomes easy for us to represent us and put Jesus second. Enough said. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Have a great night.

  4. I easily wished 3 or more people "happy holidays"... considering I told my students that at the end of every period on the Friday before Thanksgiving break. But if that was too early... I wished my cousin's girlfriend, my barber, and the cashier at Trader Joe's a "happy holidays" all on Saturday.

Haven't wished anyone a Merry Christmas yet. But in two weeks... I'll start those wishes.

  5. I wished a whole town of people "Merry Christmas" this past Saturday - My local church participated in the hometown Christmas parade. I walked in the parade, waving and wishing onlookers "Merry Christmas" as I handed out candy canes to kids. I also like to occasionally wish people "Tidings of comfort and joy!"

  6. Like Fuji, it seems "Happy Holidays" is now up to Thanksgiving time around here. People were saying it last week so I said it back, at least three times. Not sure if there's another holiday the same time as Thanksgiving.

Not playing for the Carter but keeping a toe in to see what comes up next week. Thanks!
