The new guy's wrap up.

That is until next month when I plan on tearing up all of those team boxes.

Our winner last night was Crocodile.

On to the wrap up.

I figured that enough of you folks like those Flashback heritage cards so here are some.

Front and backs so that you can see what the "flashback" was/is.

More Flashbacks.

Staying with some more Heritage inserts.

My guess is that had the guy gone through the box before putting them out those first two Holiday relic cards probably wouldn't be in the dollar boxes. Two more to add to my Christmas binder. I may even try to score some more before then year's end.

More Topps 3D cards to mess with your eyes.

Finishing with more Topps 3D cards. Okay that almost wraps the July Jax card show. I still have my consolidated Braves from the trip.  I'll put those out on Tuesday.

Have a great weekend everyone! The little guy (my grandson) has a birthday next week, but I hopefully will be celebrating it with him this Sunday after church!

The new guy: Part Three

The winner last night was: Bo

Now getting right at it.

All but 1 of the cards above are from last year's Archives insert set 1988 Topps Big.

Can anybody say ICE ICE BABY!

Finishing tonight with a slew of those Topps On Demand Dynamic Duals. There was a bunch of them.

Will wrap up the cards from the "new guy" tomorrow night. I will say this....I know I am going to the Jax show in August so that I can see Chuck and hang out a bit with him and Fred, but I am pretty sure I will spend the rest of the show going through this guys other team boxes to see what goodies I can dig from those.

The new guy part TWO

The winner last night was Laurens.

Getting right to this next batch of cards from my repeat visit with the New guy in Jax.

Did someone say Topps United Kingdom cards?

When I put together my 2022 Topps Update set I really didn't pay attention to those Ohtani's. they are nice great cards.

Yes even more of those MLB Logofractors.

X-fractors and Sepias.

Last years Unleased and no those two Hit List Altuves' are not the same.  Blue, and Green, and Pink. Pretty colors. I've got to go run some errands so this is it for tonight.

Remember the guy?

Our winner last night was Derek.

Okay time to get back to the July Jacksonville card show. Do you remember last month's show and the new guy/dealer that was there? I sure do and I am glad to have seen him there again this month. Last month I only dug through his Braves cards and pulled 80 something out. All great cards. I seen him there and asked him if he added anything new to the teams or at least the Braves, and he replied I don't think so, I may have.....but....

I did just pick up these two 3K count boxes that I haven't been through or sorted yet. This time I also let him know that I would be getting a stack..... big stack. last time you charged me just under .50 a piece. I'm talking hundreds of cards, and I'm going to need a box to put them in. He laughed and said we'll do you right. Well, in those two boxes was a gold mine.....at least to me. I will post these up the rest of the week.  To skip to the end we made a deal from now on 3 for a buck. When I got done going through those, I checked the Braves and yep he added some.

The other day someone posted (I think Tom) a couple of those Father's Day cards and I commented that was the first time I had seen them. Looking at the scan above I see that I actually grabbed one.

More fo those MLB Logofractors.

I am going to once again tout my "set of the year" favorite. 2023 Bowman and all of its sets! I have completed the paper base and prospects. I need 10 cards for the Chrome Prospects with only 1 "name" to get and that is Cam Collier the other 9 are no biggies. And low and behold I have decided to build the Mega sets too. Especially after going to Kyle's shop in Ormond last week to try and complete the Chrome base. Found way too many Mega's t let go. The base mega and the Prospects Mega are just 50 cards each. I need 25 for one of them and 18 for the other.

When I pulled those two 2015 Update Kris Bryant cards, the new guy was ooohh rookies. I said eh not really, but I want them anyway.

Finishing off tonight with a handful of 2022 Topps First Editions.

These posts are going to get better each day.

MASONIC MONDAY (BACK TO BASEBALL): HOF Earle Combs and Abraham Lincoln!

The winner Friday night was : SCC matt for the 2nd time in the week!

The All Star game has gone and went. My National League won for the first time in a long time. I hope that continues.... that is providing there is a game. As promised we are back to some baseball players for our Monday articles. 5 weeks worth (at least).

This first one is a short one so I added a short BONUS article.

See that was short and here is how Abe Lincoln ties into tonight's post.

Next week we'll have a "submariner" pitcher. I hadn't heard of him before reading that article. Go figure his name pops up in at least one of the other articles too!

It's FRIDAY!

I for one will say this week flew by so fast. It is already Friday.

Our winner last night was Jafronius.

Now, going to throw an odd ball in here for a quick get er done post.

I got these two 70' Kellogg's beauties in the mail the other day. They came from a fellow OCTer. Unexpected for sure, and certainly appreciated. Yes, I took them out of the top loaders and will be putting them in my binder this weekend.

No, I am not done with the July Jacksonville card show. In fact I have 5 more posts from the show. The last one will be a round up of all of the Braves (I think I scanned only the ones that were needs). Not sure now, we'll see in two weeks when I get to that one. The other 4 posts will be Tuesday through Friday and all are from one vendor. Remember that new guy I mentioned from last month's show?

Wow! What happened yesterday?

Not sure what was up last night, but the readership was at an all time low. 12 twelve views by bedtime, huh? Oh well hopefully it ticked up overnight and during today. I'll peek later. JUST DID, now up to 21 views and just 6 comments.

The winner last night was: Tom (I'll put them in with the checklists and over sized cards.... heading your way).

BTW: Somebody please get me Hackenbush's address. Thank you (e-mail it).

Okay, tonight we look at the cards from Kyle's boxes that he had sitting at Fred's table. There were 6 dollar boxes (3 for a buck) three of which I had been through a couple of times over. The newer three hadn't been inside Kyle's shop yet. I marked them with my initials so that I could look closer at them for set build needs once they were at his shop. I did that actually yesterday. I wanted to do so so that I could bring a certain list with me to get the ones that I need and none of the rest. I did manage to rumble my way through those 3 boxes in Jax and pulled some cards and not just baseball either!

These were for my set builds, just not the set I wanted my list with me.

Invicta cards. I guess I am sort of building those too, although I haven't made a list. they are an insert set for Bowman Inception (I think). The sets are usually small, so I hope to get that list done soon.

Love scoring high end card sets on the cheap. That Ted Williams on the bottom looked so good I grabbed three of them. I only meant to get two (1 for the PC).

Now for Star Wars. I mentioned in a recent post (Daryl) that I would have more and here those are.

Scan got a little cockeyed there.

I have extras of the Yoda and Hans Solo too.

Jax July show

The winner last night was: Matt (SCC).

Now back to the show. Pretty much every table that I stopped at and made a purchase I grabbed 2023 Donruss. One of my goals was to be done with this set build. I accomplished that. I am only showing you a few scans of the inserts and parallels. Tonight is a quick one.

here you can see the reverse variation on the two Griffey cards. There are only 10 variations this year and they are in the retro (the last section of cards).

That's it guys for tonight.

See you tomorrow with more from the July Jax. show.

The Jax July card show: ONLY the FREE stuff!

Our winner last night was: RJ.

Now let's see what we have next from the card show on July 1st. I last posted cards from Daryl my first stop (out of my ordinary routine). I made mention of the free cards he gave to me. I think that is a good place to go tonight. short and sweet.

After Fred busted me at Daryl's table I headed straight to his tables. He handed me this stack of Hank Aaron cards and said he had been meaning to give them to me for years. I told him that I probably had them all already. He insisted I take them. I did and low and behold I did need three of them.

Next up are cards that were on Fred's table but were not his. Every month or two one of his buddies, dumps some usually junk wax and odd ball stuff  on his table. I have picked through them over the past few years I wound up typically paying a penny a piece. This go around there were two shoeboxes of 80's football. Not for me, but there was a 200 count box that had some baseball. I picked through that and grabbed a handful of cards out of there. I was keeping them in my shirt pocket so that I didn't mix them with any of Fred's cards that I had already put into a small stack. I also didn't want to mix them with Kyle's cards that I had just went through the first box that had not been in his shop yet. There were two more of those boxes too, and three that I had been through at his shop.

While I was sifting through that first box from Kyle a guy came by and was all giddy over the football and wanted them all. Fred went and found his buddy (he was being a customer and shopping), he sold the two boxes plus the small baseball box for like $40.00. The guy was so happy. When he left I told Fred that I had pulled cards out of that small box and was waiting to "cash out" once I was done going through everything. He said they're yours now, they've already been paid for.

Yeah.... that is a Don Mattingly rookie card. It is creased though and not a nice specimen. But at this point it was FREE! Who cares, right? As for cards I got from Fred.... they were mainly Braves and will be in a post dedicated to the Braves that I picked up.

The next three cards were freebies from Justin.

I didn't buy anything from him, and he knew that I wasn't exactly happy that I was still sitting on some inventory he wanted (2 weeks prior). I still am as a matter of fact. I had picked up 14 monster boxes of cards for his inventory (he hasn't paid for them). 9- 3 row, 2- 4 row, and 3- 5 row boxes). 5 boxes are baseball, 5 are football, 1 (5k) basketball, 1 UFC, 1 WWE, 1 misc (soccer, racing, and more basketball and UFC). All are recent issues 2020-2023. All good stuff.... new and shiny, the $150-250.00 kind of boxes. I had told him that I would find him the right inventory for his dime boxes that he wanted to focus his "business on". This deal would answer his inventory issues so that he quits overpaying for crap, and then not willing to "eat" the bad deals he has made. He'd have enough to last the rest of the year, and without me profiting from it. I kept my receipt for what I had spent ($600.00). He would be getting these boxes for $50.00 a pop, that is a smidge over a penny a card less than a penny and a half. Seriously these are amazing boxes, lots of $5.00 cards in them. Easily 1000 of those. Anyways, I don't know what I will be doing with them if he doesn't get them in the next week or so. They have been sitting on my couch for nearly a month. I know that I don't need any of the baseball. There is a 5K box full of 2023 Topps series 1 in there with inserts. I don't collect the other sports. Either I will have to lug them to a card show, which I don't want to do or sell them here on the blog for $100.00 a pop to cover the shipping (I'd have to repack them into the large flat rate boxes safely to do that). I may see if Fred wants to buy them or maybe Frank the promoter in Jax.

Whew, I ranted long enough. I'll figure it out. But hey if you've got a hundred bucks (or more) to spare let me know, lol.
